Westford, MA, September 17, 2013 – Sportlifestyle brand PUMA® announces today a two-year partnership with professional football player Jamaal Charles who will represent the brand’s training category. Charles is a running back for Kansas City and a fantasy football favorite.  Charles joins Minnesota wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson, World’s Fastest Man Usain Bolt, soccer star Maurice Edu and action sport athlete Dave Mirra on the PUMA training team.

Charles will be featured in the brand’s Nature of Performance campaigns, attend special PUMA events, and will be involved in the testing and development of PUMA’s future training product. He will also be working with PUMA on social media programs including a “Get to know Jamaal” social series which will include weekly videos introducing fans to different aspects of his life via social media platforms. The series kicks off next week.

“I’m excited to be working with PUMA,” said Jamaal Charles. “The brand represents a lot of the things that are important to me in my daily life, be it training in the gym or on the track, or through style and music.  It’s a natural fit for my lifestyle.”

Charles was chosen for the PUMA training team because of his speed and agility on the field and his dedication to training to always perform at his best.  An All-American Track & Field sprinter in his college career, Charles still incorporates speed work on the track as part of his training.   He also mixes it up with weights and crossfit.  When he’s not training, Charles is building a name for himself DJing events across the country further aligning him with PUMA’s mix of sport and lifestyle.

“We are very excited to welcome Jamaal Charles to our men’s training team,” said Jay Piccola, President of PUMA North America. “His speed and agility is unmatched which ties perfectly to what we stand for as a brand. Jamaal brings a great mix of athleticism and personality to our already strong roster.”

Charles can be seen in PUMA’s latest training products including new releases of performance footwear and apparel.
