2019 NFL Mock: October Edition!

Cowboysfan is back once again with his picks for the 2019 NFL Draft. If you don’t agree or want to make your own draft make sure you check out our draft section (click new drafts on the menu.)

With that said, here are the picks!

1. Cardinals: Nick Bosa DE Ohio State

The Cardinals are a mess. That isn’t the worst thing though as they can focus on acquiring talent. Sure OT would help Rosen out, but they need to get best player available. Even though Bosa suffered an injury and will require surgery, there isn’t any structural damage, so he should be able to participate in camps during the offseason. Nick is a quicker more natural pass rusher than Joey. The Cards add some outside pass rush.

2. 49ers: Ed Oliver DT Houston

The 49ers don’t really need that much help inside defensively, but you can’t pass up on Oliver who can play up and down the D line. He is quick, but has some real power to his game as well. He will draw comparisons to Donald, except he’s a little bigger. Pairing him with Buckner will give O lines problems.

3. Raiders: Clelin Ferrell DE Clemson

Getting rid of Mack is starting to bite the Raiders hard. Ferrell is a natural pass rusher, with some underrated run defense. He needs to improve setting the edge and taking on blockers in the run game. But as a pass rusher he’s a natural.

4. Jets: Greedy Williams CB LSU

The Jets just need talent. I was tempted to give them O line help, but beefing up that secondary further might be the way to go. Williams is a tall lanky CB, with serious speed and ball skills. He’s the best LSU defender since Peterson. He could add some weight to deal with press easier, and needs to work on his tackling.

5. Giants: Justin Herbert QB Oregon

I don’t blame Eli for all of the Giants struggles, but they should be looking to the future. I do not think Herbert is ready, but he’s got all the tools. A good arm, with great mobility. He can make a lot of the throws. However, he isn’t quick to make reads, and only looks at one side of the field. Good thing he will get a little time to sit and learn behind Manning.

6. Colts: Jonah Williams OT Alabama

There isn’t a more talented player left than Jonah Williams. Williams can play RT or LT. Is good in the run and passing game. He has long arms, and will lock down a defender if he gets his hands on you. Protecting Luck is the biggest need right now and getting Williams is an excellent way to do that. They already have Kelly and arguably the best OG to come out in a while in Nelson, but getting that LT is huge for them.

7. Texans: Greg Little OT Ole Miss

Little is the 2nd best LT and the Texans have a very bad O line. It’s a match made in heaven. Little is a big man who plays against the best competition week in and week out.

8. Lions: Rashan Gary DT Michigan

The Lions have some good DT, but they don’t have a pass rush outside of Ansah, and Gary is arguably the most athletic D lineman in this draft. He’s a 3 tech that can play anywhere. He has a natural quickness that will get by those interior blockers. His lack of a natural position will make things tricky, but the talent is just too good.

9. Bills: Dexter Lawrence DT Clemson

The Bills need help at DT after trading away Dareus. Lawrence is massive and can almost single handidly shut down a run game. His pass rush isn’t great but underrated. He can get some push.

10. Falcons: Raekwon Davis DT Alabama

There is no denying the Falcons offense, but they could beef up their defense. Davis is a freak show, who is just now coming into his own. He’s 6’6″ 300 lbs. and is a good pass rusher. However, he isn’t where he needs to be as a run defender. Too often he attacks up field abandoning his assignment. That distinction will be the difference between being a top 10 pick and a teens pick.

11. Steelers: Devin White ILB LSU

The Steelers lost Shazier to a devastating injury, and they need help at LB. White is athletic and covers ground quickly. He isn’t a liability in coverage and is a sound tackler.

12. Vikings: Trey Adams OT Washington

The Vikings have very few holes on their team, but their O line is a problem. Adams is a talented OT who would have been drafted early last year, but his decision to remain in Washington due to injury will give scouts more time to evaluate him. He’s a large man that moves well for his size.

13. Browns: Blace Brown CB Troy

Byron Murphy CB Washington I didn’t bash the Browns selection of Ward last year, but many did. They may do it again with Byron Murphy who has accelerated as one of the top CB in the draft. At about 6’1″ 180 lbs. he’s lanky, but he’s quick and diagnosis plays quickly.

14. Buccaneers: Drew Lock QB Missouri

The Bucs should really consider moving on from Winston, he’s immature and hasn’t seen improvement. Lock is a very polarizing prospect. I don’t think he’s as raw as Allen was last year, but he needs a lot of work. He’s got arm talent, NFL size. But his decision making isn’t the best and his accuracy is shoddy at times.

15. Seahawks: David Edwards OT Wisconsin

Edwards is a good OT who in my opinion is best on the right side. He’s got that RT body who excels at getting to the second level and strong as well.

16. Eagles: Brian Burns DE Florida State

The Eagles pass rush hasn’t been as good as you would have hoped. Outside of Cox, no one seems to get any pressure. Burns is a lanky DE who has natural bend with very long arms. He may be a specialist early, but as a pass rusher he gives some much needed juice, and is often times overlooked as a coverage guy.
