I don’t know how many times the number one prospect in the nation decides to take his talents to Clemson, so this has to be a first in several ways. Talented defensive end Robert Nkemdiche has committed to take his talents to South… Carolina.

If he pairs up with an offense that features Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins in 2013 you never know what the Tigers could pull off. But for now Clemson has to be excited they have the #1 player and two of his high school teammates.

On Thursday, Loganville, Ga./Grayson defensive end Robert Nkemdiche threw a wrench in a handful of SEC schools’ recruiting plans when he verbally committed to Clemson.

Nkemdiche, who tops this year’s ESPN 150 list and has been this year’s most coveted recruiting prize, spurned Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Ole Miss for Clemson after developing a solid relationship with new Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables and the rest of the Tigers’ staff.
