Clemson WR Sammy Watkins Busted for Weed and Pills

I don’t know what is in the water.  Two days, two college football star arrested.  Today it is Clemson’s Sammy Watkins, arguably the best WR in the nation.

Sammy and a Clemson soccer player were caught riding dirty:

Clemson University wide receiver Sammy Watkins and men’s soccer player Amadou-Tidiane Daniel Dia were arrested by university police and booked into the City of Clemson’s holding facility early Friday morning.

According to Clemson Media Relations, Watkins and Dia, both 18, were arrested on drug-related charges.  Both are being charged with simple possession of marijuana.  In addition, Watkins faces a possession of a controlled substance charge.  All of the charges aremisdemeanors.

Officials say they saw the car Watkins was driving scrape against a curb on campus and pulled him over in a parking lot off Commons Court.  The temporary license tag was also not lit.

When the officer came up to the car, he smelled marijuana.  A search turned up two pills that Watkins didn’t have a prescription for and the marijuana, according to a release.
