The Minnesota Vikings find themselves at a crossroads, with an ominous 0-2 start to the NFL season raising significant questions about the future of the franchise. This precarious situation has led to speculation about a potential quarterback shakeup, particularly in the event of a winless 0-3 start.

In the eyes of some NFL analysts and experts, an 0-3 record could trigger a seismic shift at the quarterback position for the Vikings. Despite boasting a roster with considerable talent, the inability to close out games and secure victories has raised concerns about the team’s ability to compete at the highest level.

One prominent voice in the football world, while discussing the Vikings’ predicament, suggested that Kirk Cousins could find himself on the trade block if the team’s struggles persist. The rationale behind this speculation is rooted in the belief that Cousins remains a desirable asset for playoff-contending teams in need of a steady quarterback.

Kirk Cousins, known for his ability to put up impressive statistics and consistent play, could indeed be an attractive target for teams looking to bolster their playoff aspirations. His experience and track record make him a valuable commodity in a quarterback-driven league, potentially leading to trade interest from playoff contenders.

While such speculation is intriguing, it’s important to acknowledge that the NFL landscape is unpredictable, and decisions regarding player trades involve a multitude of factors. The future of the Minnesota Vikings and their quarterback position hinges on several variables, including team performance, coaching decisions, and the broader dynamics of the league.

One intriguing subplot to watch, should a trade scenario unfold, is the potential transition to a new era for the Vikings. As the analyst mentioned, the idea of “tanking” for a highly touted quarterback prospect like Caleb Williams from USC is a possibility that the franchise may consider in the quest for long-term success.

In a shocking turn of events, Jordan Addison, the promising rookie wide receiver for the Minnesota Vikings, was recently stopped by authorities for driving an eye-watering 85 MPH over the speed limit. The incident took place when Addison was reportedly traveling at a jaw-dropping speed of 140 MPH in a 55 MPH zone while behind the wheel of a Lamborghini Urus, a high-performance super sport SUV. As this incident makes headlines, fans and sports enthusiasts are left wondering what consequences await the young player.

Jordan Addison’s excessive speeding has taken the sports world by storm. It is difficult to fathom the implications of such a reckless act, both for Addison’s career and public safety. Speeding at more than twice the legal limit is not only highly dangerous but also a clear violation of traffic laws that could have resulted in a catastrophic accident.

Adding to the astonishment of this incident is the choice of vehicle driven by Addison. The Lamborghini Urus is renowned for its high-powered engine and sports car-like performance. Combining the practicality of an SUV with the ferocity of a supercar, the Urus is a coveted machine among automobile enthusiasts. However, its raw power demands responsible handling, especially on public roads.

Considering the severity of the offense, one might assume that Jordan Addison is in line for severe consequences, including potential suspension or other disciplinary actions from both the legal authorities and the NFL. However, reports suggest that Addison is “unlikely” to receive a suspension. The reason behind this decision remains unknown, leaving many to speculate on the NFL’s stance on such matters.

Despite the alarming incident, it appears that Jordan Addison is set to report to the Vikings’ training camp on Sunday as scheduled. This decision indicates that the team may not take immediate punitive action against their rookie WR, allowing him to continue preparations for the upcoming season.

It is crucial to remember that professional athletes, like any other individuals, are not exempt from the consequences of their actions. Regardless of the outcome in this particular case, Jordan Addison must realize the gravity of his actions and exercise greater responsibility both on and off the field.

The incident involving Jordan Addison’s excessive speeding has sent shockwaves through the sports community. Driving at 140 MPH in a 55 MPH zone is not only a flagrant disregard for the law but also a threat to public safety. As the situation unfolds, all eyes are on the NFL and the Minnesota Vikings to see how they address this matter. Ultimately, it is essential for young athletes like Addison to understand the importance of responsible behavior, as their actions not only impact their careers but also set an example for their fans and followers.

Looks like the Eagles are going to start Chase Daniel and wait on Carson Wentz to get healthy.

The Vikings have traded a FIRST ROUND PICK for Sam Bradford so undoubtedly he’s the starter.

Looks like Teddy Bridgewater’s injury is worse than thought.

Details on the trade below:

The Vikings will give up a first-round pick in 2017 and an additional pick in 2018.

The fourth-round pick in 2018 can escalate to as much as a second-rounder if the Vikings win the Super Bowl and Bradford plays 80% of the snaps, a person with knowledge of the deal said, speaking on condition of anonymity because details were to remain private.

-USATODAY

Smart move by the Eagles to recoup some of those picks they burned to get Wentz. Very interesting deal.

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is currently trying to get back into football after a misdemeanor charge for child abuse which forced the NFL to suspend him for the 2014 NFL season. Peterson and his family have been through a lot, and that may not be limited to off the field drama. Rumor is that AP may have played his last down for the Vikings.

Here is AP’s take on it per USA TODAY:

“I would have to get back in the community and get a feel,” Peterson said. “I know who loves me. The coaches and the players, it’s not going to be a problem. I’ve felt so much support from those guys. The organization, I know there’s people in the organization that support me and there’s people that I know internally that has not been supporting me.”

Peterson said there is mutual love with first-year coach Mike Zimmer, who read a motivational text from Peterson before a Sept. 28 game against Atlanta that’s one of the Vikings’ four wins. He’d gladly return this season if his appeal succeeds. But Peterson also said he has given a lot of thought to the idea that “maybe it’s best for me to get a fresh start somewhere else.”

The Minnesota Vikings have signed veteran quarterback Matt Cassel to a 2 year, $10 million deal but according to reports the team is still looking to add a young quarterback. It is debated that with the eighth pick Minnesota could draft a Blake Bortles or Derek Carr but all news says they are going to hold off in the first round. It looks like Matt Cassel’s replacement will be drafted sometime on the second day.

Here is what Vikings GM Rick Spielman said:

“I think you can find quarterbacks in the second round and the third round, as well,” Spielman told the Star Tribune. “We’ve started that process on the evaluation part. I think we’re scheduled to go out there and see a lot of these quarterbacks through the spring and get to know them a little bit better. The one thing that I want to make sure we don’t do is box ourselves into having to take a quarterback if there’s another player that’s very significant at another position.”

Update those mock drafts. The Vikings will likely add to a young defense with the eighth pick and draft an AJ McCarron or Tajh Boyd later in the draft.

Who do you think they will draft? What will happen? Is it a smokescreen? There are only a few weeks left, we’ll see.

In each of the past three years, there has been substantial activity on the trade front within the top ten picks of the NFL Draft. With the current collective bargaining agreement in place, teams can now afford to sign multiple marquee draft picks and still hold their head above water. The Dirty Birds pulled a slick move in 2011 to grab Julio Jones at #6. Jerry Jones acted in surprising fashion to move up and pluck the so-far-underwhelming Morris Claiborne at #6 in 2012. The Fins shocked us all by falling in love with pass rush specialist Dion Jordan and taking him at #3 in 2013. These trades are quite difficult to predict, but here are a few scenarios which could make you fall off the couch on May 8th.

Cleveland Browns

Pick #4 is where things get interesting. Cleveland has the arsenal and positioning to pull off some crazy moves this May.

Let’s look at Cleveland’s Core Players: WR – Josh Gordon; TE – Jordan Cameron; OL – Joe Thomas, Alex Mack (Potential Free Agent); S – TJ Ward; CB – Joe Haden; RUSH – Barkevious Mingo, Jabaal Sheard.

Browns’ picks are – 1st Round (4), 1st Round (26), 2nd Round (35), 3rd Round (71), 3rd Round (83), 4th Round (102), 4th Round (123), 5th Round (133), 6th Round (164), 7th Round (195).

Possible Trade Scenario: Trade 1st Round (26) and 2nd Round (35) and 2015 1st Round Pick to STL Rams for 1st Round (2). The Rams are willing to pull the trigger on this one as they have been publicly content with Sam Bradford at the helm in 2014, and they stockpile solid value picks in return. The Browns now put themselves in position to grab their next QB project and a Stud Athlete with their first two picks. The #2 pick obviously depends highly on which avenue Houston goes with the #1 pick. If Houston goes with a QB, Cleveland can snag a QB at (2) and save (4) for a dynamic, explosive athlete in either Jadeveon Clowney or Sammy Watkins. If Houston goes with Clowney, Cleveland can pick Sammy Watkins and grab their QB at (4).

Oakland Raiders

Oakland also has an interesting situation at (5). Terrelle Pryor and Matt McGloin are not the long term future. Well, hopefully the Raiders have a plan to prevent another year of that show. If Houston uses their (1) pick on Jadeveon Clowney, and the STL Rams don’t take a QB, the top three QB’s are still on the board for picks (3), (4), and (5) if necessary. However, if Houston takes one of those QB’s, sitting pat at (5) may prove to be dreadful for Oakland as they miss out on a potential franchise QB. At this point, it should be a priority for Oakland to pick up that phone and dial up the STL Rams.

Let’s look at Oakland’s Core Players: WR – Denarius Moore, Andre Holmes; C – Stefan Wisniewski; RB – Darren McFadden (Potential Free Agent); RUSH – Lamarr Houston (Potential Free Agent); DT – Sio Moore; CB – DJ Hayden; K – Sebastian Janikowski.

Raiders’ Picks Are: 1st Round (5), 2nd Round (36), 3rd Round (67), 4th Round (103), 6th Round (165), 7th Round (196), 7th Round (212).

Possible Trade Scenario: Trade 1st Round (5), 2nd Round (36), and 2015 2nd Round Pick to STL Rams for 1st Round (2). The Rams easily take this trade and stockpile valuable picks, and Oakland snags a potential franchise QB.

Minnesota Vikings

Now here is a team with a dire need at the QB position. Christian Ponder is capable of pulling off six win seasons at most, and that is clearly unacceptable. Vikes’ management should be in full panic mode concerning the QB position, because the golden complement Adrian Peterson won’t be dragging defenders to paydirt forever.

Let’s look at Minnesota’s Core Players: WR – Cordarelle Patterson, Greg Jennings; RB – Adrian Peterson; TE – Kyle Rudolph; OL – Matt Kalil; DT – Kevin Williams, Sharif Floyd; RUSH – Jared Allen (Potential Free Agent); OLB – Chad Greenway; ILB – Erin Henderson; K – Blair Walsh; P – Jeff Locke.

The Vikings’ Picks are: 1st Round (8), 2nd Round (40), 3rd Round (72), 3rd Round (96), 4th Round (104), 5th Round (136), 6th Round (168), 7th Round (200).

Possible Trade Scenario #2: Trade 1st Round (8), 2nd Round (40), 3rd Round (72), and a 2015 2nd Round Pick to the STL Rams for 1st Round (2). Vikings pull off a solid trade and take a stud QB at (2).

Buffalo Bills

This team has some solid pieces, but still lacks consistently elite playmakers. Mario Williams is quite the terror alone for some offenses to handle, but could you comprehend the matchup issues it would cause if Super Mario were mirrored with that guy named Jadeveon Clowney? Good luck blocking those two, oh, and the other 2 Pro-Bowlers between them. How much would Sammy Watkins improve the rate of succession of one EJ Manuel? Elite, Dynamic, Explosive Prospects are a premium in this league, and it would benefit Buffalo to engineer a trade with the STL Rams to ensure they snare one of these two studs.

Let’s look at Buffalo’s Core Players: QB – EJ Manuel; RB – CJ Spiller, Fred Jackson; WR – Steve Johnson; OL – Cordy Glenn, Eric Wood; DT – Kyle Williams, Marcel Dareus; DE/RUSH – Mario Williams; LB – Kiko Alonso; S – Jairus Byrd (Potential Free Agent); CB – Stephon Gilmore.

The Bills Picks are: 1st Round (9), 2nd Round (41), 3rd Round (73), 4th Round (105), 5th Round (137), 6th Round (169), 7th Round (201).

Possible Trade Scenario: Trade 1st Round (9) and a 2015 1st Round Pick to STL Rams for 1st Round (2). If Houston picks Clowney, draft Sammy Watkins…..otherwise just grab Clowney and make Tom Brady’s geriatric NFL years an absolute misery.

As you know we are a little bit over a month away from the 2013 NFL Draft. As we near that date teams are scrambling to figure out how to fill their needs via free agency, and what needs will be figured out in the draft. This years free agency was like them all, it started with a bang then slowly came to a halt. Many veterans switched teams and got paid.

But what teams made moves that will completely change their draft strategy?

1. Miami Dolphins sign WR Mike Wallace

Between Hartline, Bess and Wallace, the Dolphins feel they have a WR core to grow with Tannehill. Look to them to draft offensive tackle or defensive end, their two biggest needs going forward.

2. Vikings sign WR Greg Jennings

There are conflicting thoughts on this signing but if Jennings has a good offseason and his injuries heal he should be the #1 WR on this squad easily. They still need a second WR and with the draft picks they got from the Percy Harvin trade drafting one isn’t out the question.

3. Broncos sign Wes Welker

This signing will prevent the Broncos from having to address drafting a slot receiver as they have one of the best in the business already…. and Wes Welker. All jokes aside, even if Stokely is retiring the Broncos are fine at WR.

4. Seahawks sign Michael Bennett and Cliff Avril

No first round pick meant they needed to address the defensive end spot via free agency. With their later picks you’ll probably see some depth drafted in the defensive backfield and running back positions.

5. Patriots sign Danny Amendola

The Patriots lost one of the most consistent WRs in the game and replaced him with one of the more injury prone ones in recent years. They also cut Brandon Lloyd, and Donte Stallworth got into a freak hot air ballon accident. They still need receivers.

6. Buccaneers sign Dashon Goldson

Their defensive backfield is set at safety. Next up is the cornerback spot, along with addressing Michael Bennett’s departure.

Anyone who was keeping an eye on the Percy Harvin situation could tell you he was going to get traded. Despite the team denying for weeks and weeks that they would not trade the receiver out of Florida, they never offered him a contract extension. That only meant one thing: it was a matter of time before Percy was out.

With that said Jay Glazer reports that the Vikings have completed a deal to send Percy to the Seattle Seahawks. The Vikings got not one, not two, but three draft picks in return:

Seattle sends this years first round pick and a 7th rounder as well as a mid-round pick next year for Harvin. Win-win for both teams

— Jay Glazer (@JayGlazer) March 11, 2013

Three players for Percy Harvin?!! I’m not saying he’s a bum, but if even one of those players becomes an effective starter I think Seattle got ripped here.

We’ll see how Minnesota replaces Percy. Tavon Austin anyone?

Why would a 24 year old wide receiver who hasn’t even entered his prime request to be traded? Is he not getting along with teammates? Coaches? Or does he feel he is underutilized in the offense?

With 87 catches, and 52 carries in 2011 I am sure Percy is getting the ball enough. It seems that something is brushing Mr. Harvin the wrong way:

I’ll just put it this way — it’s a lot of different things that have to be sorted out. Just haven’t been real happy lately. So, we’ve got a couple things to work on. I’m here in the classroom, so we’ll go from here.

We’re kind of keeping everything in house. If specific people choose to tell you the stories, then they do. I keep everything in house and we deal with things in house. So, that’s the way I keep it.

I’m just not happy. I won’t go into how unhappy. I’m just overall not happy with a couple situations.

Reading between the lines it looks like Percy wants a new deal, and the Vikings want to see what he plays over the next two years of the deal.
