The Tennessee Titans have vaulted into the top spot of the 2025 NFL Draft after a tumultuous season that ended with a loss to the Houston Texans and a surprising win by the New England Patriots over the Buffalo Bills in Week 18. With the No. 1 pick officially in hand, the debate is already heating up: Should the Titans select Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders or his two-way superstar teammate, Travis Hunter?

Tennessee’s glaring need at quarterback has been evident throughout the season. Will Levis struggled with accuracy and showed an inability to handle pressure, leaving the Titans in search of a long-term solution at the game’s most important position. Shedeur Sanders has been one of the most talked-about prospects, but questions linger about whether he’s truly worth the top overall selection. Some analysts argue his hype outpaces his production, and just last week, a draft expert on The Rich Eisen Show noted that Sanders wasn’t even projected as a first-round pick earlier this season.

For those doubting Sanders, Miami’s Cam Ward has emerged as another potential candidate for QB1. Ward’s combination of arm strength, mobility, and poise has led some to suggest he’s the better prospect compared to Sanders. If the Titans were to pass on Ward for Sanders, it could be viewed as a significant gamble—or even a mistake.

Meanwhile, Travis Hunter’s name is also in the mix. The Heisman Trophy-winning wide receiver and cornerback is a generational talent who can transform a team on both sides of the ball. However, selecting a non-quarterback with the first overall pick always comes with risks, especially for a team like Tennessee that lacks stability at quarterback.

Adding intrigue to the situation, Shedeur Sanders’ father and head coach, Deion Sanders, has openly stated he will be selective about where his son plays at the next level. The Titans’ recent struggles, lackluster offensive line, and questionable roster depth could make them a less-than-ideal destination for Shedeur. The question looms: Would Coach Prime and Shedeur be willing to say “no” to Tennessee?

The Titans face a monumental decision as they evaluate their options. Do they bet on Shedeur Sanders to be their franchise quarterback, consider the raw but promising Cam Ward, or opt for the once-in-a-lifetime talent of Travis Hunter? With the clock ticking toward draft day, Tennessee’s choice could define the future of the franchise for years to come.

Everyone wanted to know where Malik Willis would go and now we know: The Tennessee Titans! The Titans saw the young passer still on the board and could not resist any longer.

Willis started the draft process at the top of many mocks but started to fall once his game was picked apart. He still tore it up at his pro day, throwing 60 and 70 yard bombs to the delight of scouts. It is a very special time to be a Titan fan and hopefully Willis makes the selection very special.

The Tennessee Titans are a team loaded with promise. With one of the best young QBs in the game along with a monster OL and two beastly running backs, the sky is the limit for this franchise.

The only thing left for this franchise appears to be rebuilding the defense and they should be right back into the hunt in the AFC South. So what players can help make this happen? Glad you asked.

Here is the latest 2017 Tennessee Titans Mock Draft thanks to Cowboysfan1993:

1. Titans: Jamal Adams S LSU

Round 1 The Titans secondary is an absolute mess. Only Jason McCourty is starting caliber. The rest either need to assume backup duties or find a new team. I think there are talented CB in this draft, but none are worth a top 5 pick. Adams is a big S that can play SS or FS, but best at SS where the team can utilize his skillset. He isn’t a free range guy, but he is big enough and physical enough to handle TE around the LOS and make tackles on the RB. He can cover, which is always coveted. He is a sound tackle. His issues are that again while he can cover, he doesn’t have a whole lot of range, he needs to learn how to wrap up better as well. The Titans are well on their way to getting a dominant offense, but need a defense that can get that offense on the field.

2. Titans: John Ross WR Washington

Round 1 The Titans have nearly everything they need on offense minus WR help. Kendall Wright is a FA and the rest are ok. They need someone who cannot only be a receiving threat, but be able to stretch the defense to give their RB more room to work with. Ross may not be the tallest guy, but he is a legit 4.3 guy at worst. He knows how to get behind a defense, but is also good at being able to handle a jet sweep, run screens, and shorter routes. While his route running is far from perfect, it is adequate enough combined with his speed to be an early success. He is again pretty small and suffered a serious leg injury in the past, he also can be a body catcher at times.

3. Titans: Curtis Samuel WR/RB Ohio St.

Round 3 This is Curtis Samuel WR/RB from Ohio St. Face it the Titans can’t fix everything in one offseason. CB is a bigger need, but WR is still a need for them. They have literally no one to threaten the outside. There isn’t a CB worthy of this spot. They go with Curtis Samuel. Samuel is more of a player in teh mold of say a Randall Cobb or Percy Harvin. He is a number 2 WR, who can handle being sent on passing patterns, while being able to line up in the backfield as a RB. He can also handle PR and KR duties. Curtis Samuel has a bigger frame than both Cobb and Harvin, so durability may not be as big of an issue. If you add Samuel, you will give the Titans a different dynamic on offense and really be able to open things up for young Marcus Mariota.

Ever since Bud Adams died the Tennessee Titans’ ownership has been split in a “hedge fund” type of ownership. There are multiple owners and they do not seem to be on the same page. Except for: making money.

As a Bobcats/Hornets fan I will say its really hard for the fans when the team ownership looks more interested in making money rather than winning. There are only two reasons to support a team and that’s if it wins and if it’s trying to win eventually. No one wants to pay $80-200 for a losing product but when they do it doesn’t entice the owners to build a winner.

The NFL seems quietly upset that the Titans aren’t interested in winning. Mike Mularkey unexpectedly became the permanent head coach after being the interim coach this past season.

Now that the Titans’ General Manager has publicly said that the team is interested in any and all offers for the #1 pick, the NFL is slowly moving in. People are predicting a Donald Sterling like coup of ownership in an effort to bring Nashville a team that is interested in winning.

Check out the clip below in which the hot topic of Titans ownership is discussed in depth (4:33):

Marcus Mariota is the only unsigned player from the 2015 NFL Draft class. Will he sign with the Titans or will this thing drag out into the preseason?

From what’s being reported it seems as if Mariota and the Titans cannot agree on the details of the language in his contract. Mariota wants no offset language meaning that if for some reason he ends up on another team before his contract is up BOTH the Titans and the other team have to pay him.

“We’ve always had offset language in our player contracts. It’s nothing new,” Titans’ interim CEO and president Steve Underwood said. “I think it is important where a high first-round draft pick is concerned, because it’s the precedent. Everything that we do is precedential for the next round of contracts.

“So keeping the offset in place is something we want to be able to do going forward. And the minute you back away from the contract principle then you no longer are able to assert it going forward.”

Paul Kuharsky/ESPN

Call Mariota a lot of things, but you won’t call him broke or stupid.

What will the Titans do next month? Will it be Mariota or will it be Winston? Will it be a defender? Will there be a trade? Lots of questions are yet to be answered but that doesn’t stop the MDHQ draft community.

Member ks10680 wrote up his thoughts and they are pretty solid. Titans fans do you agree with this mock draft?

Picks below:

1. Titans: Jameis Winston QB Florida State
The titans are in a good situation to draft a QB with the 2 overall pick so they decide on picking Jameis Winston which is the best QB in the draft he has shown that in the combine plus he would fit perfectly in our offense and remember he said that his focus is winning a super bowl in I just don’t think the tampa is on that level all though titans aren’t really either but imagine Jameis Winston throwing to many different targets in Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter, Delanie Walker, and potential draft pick in Ty Montgomery with a improving offensive line and a head coach that played the QB position. Jameis Winston the next Steve McNair.

2. Titans: PJ Williams CB Florida State
Tennessee needs a cornerback bad ever since AV left in this kid right here is the best fit at corner for the titans.

3. Titans: Michael Bennett DT Ohio State
Michael Bennett is what we need a guy that can stop the run a perfect fit hope he drops down to the 3 round.

4. Titans: Markus Golden DE Missouri
A great pick for us if he falls in our hand in the 4 round could be a steal another guy that can track the RB.

5. Titans: Kurtis Drummond S Michigan State
We really need more than one safety specially if my favorite safety leaves Michael Griffin so we draft Kurtis an underrated safety.

6. Titans: Ty Montgomery WR Stanford
I believe in Justin Hunter I believe he will be our main guy when it comes to throwing down the field in scoring a game winning touchdown but I don’t believe that Nate Washington will be back so I think we should draft TY or Rasheed Green if he could fall down to the 6 round but I doubt it.

No need to sugar coat it. CJ held out, got his money and things have not been the same since. Fantasy owners all over the country, and maybe the Titans themselves, are fed up with CJ2K’s lack of production.

As teams prepare their list of potential free agents in 2012, there’s a fairly big name that some currently are putting in the “maybe” category. Per a league source, several teams believe that the Titans could release running back Chris Johnson before the fifth day of the 2012 league year, at which time his base salary of $8 million becomes fully guaranteed.

Profootballtalk

Read more: http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/316410-source-titans-may-release-chris-johnson?eref=sihp&sct=hp_bf2_a4#ixzz1d0CJTi5q

The thing is you don’t know what is going on with Chris. Maybe he is just having a off year. Maybe he played for a contract. Maybe he is trying to get out of town after a long and ugly holdout. We don’t know.

What we do know is that Chris Johnson has the talent to be the best back in football and you simply don’t release that kind of talent. Who are you going to replace him with? Javon Ringer?

If all else fails, CJ runs a record label and could always end up being the next Birdman or Diddy. You never know. Crazier things have happened.

It was a great story. A kid from the bahamas makes it to a level few achieve athletically and scholastically, and also had a shot to play in the NFL. But at the end of the day the Titans felt the roster spot should go to someone else and parted ways with Rolle.

Good luck to Rolle in whatever he does. You know he’s going to be a success off the field. It is yet to be seen if he becomes one in the NFL.
