From all indications it seems that Robert Griffin III is happy to be the newest member of the Cleveland Browns. For some odd reason RGIII was signed after guys like Brock Osweiler and Mark Sanchez but at the end of the day RG has a new squad to show what he can do in the NFL.

WHat’s interesting is that the Broncos didn’t want him at all. Rumors are that John Elway and Gary Kubiak were more enamored with Colin Kaepernick but he’s still under contract in San Francisco.

All reports also favor the “Shanahan factor” that played into RG’s offseason. The Broncos clearly were not confident with what information they gathered through Griffin’s former head coach.

However that same Mike Shanahan sold RGIII to the Rams:

But Shanahan said he spoke with Griffin after calling Rams coach Jeff Fisher, initially to discuss another matter, and telling him, “I’d take him if I were you.” Shanahan said no other team called to ask his opinion about Griffin.

-ESPN

So the info available on Robert Griffin III wasn’t good enough for a contract from Broncos, but the LA Rams. I get it but I don’t get it.

Wishing all the best to him.

As Robert Griffin III continues to struggle in Washington, more and more stories start to leak out about the enigmatic quarterback.

After suffering a concussion last week Griffin was not the target of this round of media criticism. It was actually his linemen who seemed not-too-interested in blocking for RG. Could this be the sign of a bigger problem? Do these guys just not like him?

Rumors are swirling that there is actually something there. It looks like it is very possible that guys aren’t blocking for RG3 because they simply don’t like him:

As Robert Griffin III morphed from the rookie of the year in 2012 to a huge disappointment in 2013, questions started to be raised about whether his offensive line disliked him. At one point late in the 2013 season, it was observed that Washington’s offensive linemen hardly ever helped Griffin up after sacks, and reports out of the team’s locker room began to indicate that players were tired of Griffin’s refusal to take the blame when things went wrong.

Two years later, Griffin still doesn’t seem to be winning any friends in the locker room.

At today’s press conference, Griffin was asked about problems with the team’s pass protection. Although Griffin said he wouldn’t point fingers at his offensive linemen, he also didn’t put the blame on himself, even though many observers have pointed to Griffin’s lack of pocket awareness as a bigger problem than Washington’s offensive line.

According to Jason Reid of ESPN, Griffin sidestepping his own responsibility for making the line look worse than it played is exactly the kind of thing that causes him problems in the locker room. Reid wrote on Twitter after Griffin’s press conference that coaches say “several” offensive linemen dislike Griffin.

There seem to be two problems facing Griffin. The more important one is that he simply hasn’t played very well since suffering a severe knee injury at the end of his rookie season. But another problem is that he hasn’t shown that he has the leadership qualities that a quarterback needs. And until he starts playing better, it’s hard to see how he’ll be able to rally his teammates around him

Advice to RG3: get out of Washington. Force a trade somewhere, anywhere. Buffalo, New York Jets, Cleveland, and Arizona could all use his services in the near future. Whatever you do get the hell out of dodge.

The RG3/Redskins marriage is over and we are just watching them wait it out before filing those papers….

Is Robert Griffin III the best quarterback in the league? According to RG himself, the answer is yes. Well that is if you were to ask him.

Here are the comments that stirred up a controversy about nothing:

“I feel like I’m the best quarterback in the league, and I have to go out and show that,” Griffin told WJLA-TV, via ESPN.com. “Any athlete at any level, if they concede to someone else, they’re not a top competitor, they’re not trying to be the best that they can be.

“There’s guys in this league that have done way more than me. But I still view myself as the best because that’s what I work toward every single day.”

In a super competitive field like NFL quarterbacking you have to believe you are the best. Not only do you have 11 guys trying to physically take you out if they got a chance, you also have three guys on the sideline warmed up and ready to take your job at a moment’s notice.

Looking forward to a rebound season from Robert but I’m not going to hold my breath waiting. It looks like there are just too many internal issues in this franchise to support Griffin’s development properly.

Word is that after the season the Redskins will part ways with their quarterback Robert Griffin III. RG3 has only played 4 games this season for a team that has more problems than the quarterback position. That didn’t stop the organization for putting it all on RG because… someone has to be the fall guy.

There are 52 other players on the roster and I hope this serves as a warning for them. If this team can go cold on a “franchise” guy they spent three first round picks to get then they can get rid of you too.

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III will not return to the team next season, according to CBS Sports.

After losing his starting job to Colt McCoy, several in the organization believe that the team will part with Griffin after the season. There has reportedly been a growing rift between Griffin and the team that is beyond repair.

It is the second time in two seasons — by two different coaches — that Griffin lost his starting job the final month of the regular season.

After giving up three first-round draft picks to select Griffin No. 2 overall in 2012, the team will likely trade him in the offseason. CBS Sports contacted five evaluators about Griffin, and only one believed the Redskins would get as high as a third-round pick for him.

Griffin has one year left on his contract and will make $3.3 million next year. He has a fifth-year option for 2016 for more than $16 million. Several teams looking for quarterbacks next year could be interested in Griffin, including the Buffalo Bills, Houston Texans, New York Jets, St. Louis Rams and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Griffin tore his right ACL and MCL in the playoffs during his rookie season and recently came back from a dislocated ankle. His injury history, decline in production, conflicts with coaches and salary all play a part in his value on the trade market. Some teams assume the Redskins may simply release him.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/report-redskins-to-part-with-griffin-after-season/ar-BBganqw

Don’t get me wrong, RG3 is still a good player but we may never see that player he was in his rookie season again.

RG has struggled due to Mike Shanahan leaving town with the pistol offense and Robert battling multiple injuries. He is still a good player and someone will likely give him a chance to be their starting quarterback next year. This is 2014 and Kyle Orton is starting games after all. Teams like Buffalo, Jacksonville, Oakland, Dallas, hell even Denver would be stupid not to bring in RG3.

In case you missed it, the Redskins have made the switch. Jay Gruden has decided that Robert Griffin III is not the quarterback he wants executing his offense. The Redskins play the Colts this Sunday.

Why has RG3 been benched? It’s very simple. Robert Griffin is one of the worst pocket passers in the game by the numbers. RG3 holds on the ball longer than any other quarterback, fails to see open receivers, and routinely does not throw balls on time. This leads to a frustrated locker room and a head coach that tells you to “worry about your self.”

This is very likely Shanahan coming for Joe Philbin’s job in Miami when they are both eventually fired at season’s end. It is interesting nonetheless. Would this be why Robert Griffin III seems uncomfortable at times with the Shanahans?

The Redskins are coming off a bad loss at Philadelphia. Robert Griffin III was widely criticized for a play which resulted in a bad interception and allowed Philly to get the win. After the game some words were exchanged and today receiver Santana Moss allegedly responded on ‘LaVar and Dukes.’

We dont have the full transcript yet but here is a summary of what Santana said:

Chad: so your QB basically said “the receivers can’t get open so I had to throw it away” and “they knew what we were gonna do, so we really weren’t effective in the passing game until the end”

Santana: Well………. when you have the ball in your hands all game and especially at the end of the game maybe your press conference should go “I need to make the play or I need to get it done” I need to hear more “I’s” and “Me’s” from him when we play bad, not when we play well. Somebody needs to sit him down and tell him when you disperse the blame as the QB, everybody else on the team has to answer for you. When you are a leader you don’t need to remind everyone.

Big deal or something out of nothing?

Who will be the better Quarterback?

While conventional opinion seems to still favor Luck and his fit into a Pro system, the man known as RG3 came out of the gates smoking.

In his NFL debut Griffin went 19/26 passing for 320 yards, 2 touchdowns and no interceptions. The Redskins used primarily a screen based offense with a lot of read options. The new look Skins offense looked very similar to the same offense RG ran as a Baylor Bear.

It is only one game, but RG3 has been very impressive. Let’s see what happens when he gets to meet tough division defenses like the New York Giants and it starts getting real.
