Super Bowl 50 was a very exciting Super Bowl that featured two of the NFL’s best defenses. The Denver Broncos and their awesome defense eventually overpowered the Carolina Panthers in a game that has people calling them the new 2000 Baltimore Ravens.

It was a feel good moment to see Peyton Manning ride off with his last W, but we couldn’t just have that now could we? Of course not. Between #BlackTwitter blindly supporting Cam to the media covering up Peyton Manning’s alleged sexual assault, there was a ton of controversy off the field.

Cam was vilified for walking off his post game presser which wouldn’t be a big story if it wasn’t for the skeletons buried in Peyton Manning’s closet. Recent stories have suggested a coordinated coverup by the Manning family that lasted Manning’s entire NFL career.

Things couldn’t be that sinister, could it?

Or could it be a old fashioned racial double standard? We have to ask the question.

YA BOY and my brother Will Ruck discussed it on our podcast (PRESS PLAY:)

What in the name of John Elway is John Elway doing?

I said it before the draft when I heard the rumors of Elway going after Osweiler, that I had no problems with that pick if it was done with a reasonable selection. Brock Osweiler is a good enough developmental prospect, with the mobility and confidence you look for at the position. The only problem is that the Broncos are trying to win NOW… again, how does Brock Osweiler standing on the sidelines help Peyton Manning win playoff games? What is the thinking here?

I’m still baffled by the selection, other than the fact that Denver had nothing behind Peyton. But was a second round pick really worth blowing on a guy that can’t help your team unless your best player goes down? Hmmm….

Besides that, now we are hearing that Osweiler is working on his throwing motion.

“A lot of times in college, my elbow would drop below my shoulder, if you will,”

“When you do that, you lose velocity, you lose accuracy, you’re less consistent with your throws. We basically made a huge point to bring that elbow up to a more traditional throwing motion and get it above my shoulder.”

wait… wat?!!

Didn’t the Broncos just get rid of a quarterback with a wonky ‘below the shoulder’ throwing motion?

I’m still skeptical how this pick helps the Broncos win the Super Bowl…. please prove me wrong. Please.

I cannot believe this. The Broncos have been informed by Peyton Manning that he will be signing with the team as their new quarterback. After a long courtship process which included several teams, Peyton has decided that Denver is the best place for him.

Peyton Manning will become the next quarterback of the Denver Broncos, barring unexpected snag in contract talks.

Adam Schefter ‏ @AdamSchefter

The funny thing is that writers like Woody Paige have said time after time that the Broncos had a 0% shot at signing the Hall of Fame QB. Now these guys are backpedaling faster than Darrelle Revis in man to man coverage. If you’re that much of a Tebow homer you really should follow him to his next team.

The Broncos will look to trade Tebow as soon as possible. This is a double WIN-WIN for the Broncos. No more Tebowmania and his fans and they get one of the greatest QBs of all time. As a fan I cannot be happier. Peyton Manning brings legitimacy to the QB spot that’s been lacking since the day Josh McDaniels used a first round pick on the quarterback that couldn’t pass.

Thank you Peyton. You made a wise decision. Can’t wait for the 2012 season!

Do not get me wrong. But it seems that ever since Tim Tebow came to the Broncos, Woody has turned in his reporting for thinly veiled blind love for the former Florida Gators Quarterback. Ever since Kyle Orton beat Tebow in camp soundly, Woody has been pushing out article after article on how Tim Tebow will be the second coming of Frank Tarkenton mixed with Steve Young and John Elway.

So with that said, you know good old Woody was threatened when one of the best quarterbacks of all time, Peyton Manning became available on Wednesday. In Woody’s latest masterpiece he laid out a trove of reasons why there is no chance that Peyton Manning would ever, EVER, consider playing for the Denver Broncos.

The Title of Woody’s masterpiece is ” Woody Paige: Broncos won’t make Peyton Manning’s final list.”

Manning, who will be 36 on March 24, wants to play for an immediate Super Bowl contender; in a domed stadium (where he has won more than 70 percent of his games) or a warm-weather city; on a team with a quality defense and superior receivers, linemen and running backs; in a system that allows him freedom and influence; for an organization that doesn’t have drama; and in a locale where Manning is the man.

Honestly, the Broncos aren’t qualified on enough fronts, even though they are in the running, or passing.

Read more: Woody Paige: Broncos won’t make Peyton Manning’s final list – The Denver Post http://www.denverpost.com/paige/ci_20135514/broncos-wont-make-peyton-mannings-final-list#ixzz1oepLR3X1
Read The Denver Post’s Terms of Use of its content: http://www.denverpost.com/termsofuse

The whole article is basically Woody backpedaling and refusing to make a definite statement on Peyton and the Broncos.

“The Broncos wont make the final list.”

“The Broncos won’t be No. 1”

So why Peyton is visiting Denver FIRST?

According to PFT:

A tipster, whom we regarded as either very trustworthy or an evil genius, told PFT last night that Peyton Manning will meet with BV.P. of football operations John Elway and other Broncos officials in Stillwater and then head to Denver to meet with Broncos owner Pat Bowlen.

We’ll see what happens.

It isn’t a time to be sad Colt fan. Andrew Luck is walking through that door in just about 6 weeks.

If you didn’t see it here is the teary press conference:

Upon news of Manning being a free agent pretty much the entire NFL has chimed on it. Darnell Dockett has already pledged his barber and parking spot to the cause down in Phoneix. Raheem Brock has pledged a crop of young WRs:

Yes Larry fitzgerald is a great player! But in seattle he wld have about 4 or 5 wr’s and 2 tight ends that he can work with!

But what about the Broncos? Adam Schefter reported this on twitter:

Broncos will inquire about former QB Peyton Manning’s availability and see if he has interest in coming to Denver.

That sound you just heard was Broncos fans erupting in joy all across the country simultaneously. After a season in which the last guy threw just over 46% of his intended passes to their mark, having Peyton Manning out as a free agent is like a gift from above.

And with that said, I am on the bandwagon.

If I am the Broncos I roll the red carpet out and get Peyton Manning’s signature on a contract before Monday morning. Is Peyton 36? Yes. Is there risk in his current condition? Yes. You have to obviously get a physical on him and make sure you are comfortable putting your money into him, but if all things are go this is a no-brainer.

Why?

I’ll end it with this.

The Broncos started the statistically worst PASSING quarterback in the last 10 years and were two games away from the Superbowl. Two games. You don’t think Peyton could have made a difference in last year’s playoff run? You don’t think it’s worth the risk to see what happens if you add Peyton Manning to the current Broncos roster?

All I have to say is this. Without Peyton Manning the Colts were the worst team in the NFL. The WORST. With Peyton Manning this happened:

They called him a liar.

They said he had a fake smile.

All Cam Newton did in his first game was answer his critics in a big way. 422 passing yards, 2 TD, and a rushing TD to boot in his first NFL game. Now he did lose the game, but he passed Peyton Manning’s name in the rookie passing yard record book. Any time your name is above “Peyton Manning” on a record list you are doing something right.

Steve Smith finally came out of Jimmy Clausen’s witness protection and was the recipient of both of Cam’s touchdowns.

What was more important than the record was how Cam played. He stood tall in the pocket. He didn’t run around like a chicken with his head cut off at the first sight of pressure. He kept his eyes down field and hit Greg Olsen and Jeremy Shockey when they uncovered. The balls were accurate, and thrown with a nice zip.

I’m not ready to say Cam is a franchise QB… yet. But he has legit NFL talent that every defensive coordinator is going to have to scheme for from now on.
