With five weeks of college football in the can, it is time for a new NFL Mock Draft. In the NFL there have been a few surprises. The New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers can’t seem to win a game, while teams such as the Miami Dolphins are surprisingly competitive throughout five weeks.

In college football the athletes we have expected to reign supreme are doing well. Johnny Manziel came off “suspension” looking like he hasn’t missed a step, while guys like his teammate Mike Evans are slowly trotting up the draft board. This quarterback class is looking stacked with AJ McCarron, Brett Hundley, and others all working their ways up the board every single game.

With that said, here is our current mock. After going over this make sure you check on college football betting at Topbet.eu.

On to the picks:

1. Jaguars: Teddy Bridgewater QB Louisville
Teddy Bridgewater has to be better than who’s in Jacksonville now, right?

2. Buccaneers: Tajh Boyd QB Clemson
Josh Freeman is gone. It is time for a new QB, if he were still there maybe Clowney is the pick.

3. Raiders: Jadeveon Clowney DE South Carolina
The Raiders need an offensive threat but Clowney is too good to pass up.

4. Rams: Marqise Lee WR USC
The Rams just drafted Tavon Austin, sure, but they cannot seem to get him the ball.

5. Giants: Mike Evans WR Texas AM
Kind of a shocker pick but the Giants need to make a bold move. Eli isn’t getting younger, Hakeem Nicks is always injured, and the other WRs haven’t stepped up!

6. Steelers: Jake Matthews OT Texas AM
The Steelers have to get back to the ground game or they will continue to lose games.

7. Rams: Taylor Lewan OT Michigan
Jake Long was added, but Roger Saffold can leave after the season as well.

8. Eagles: Sammy Watkins WR Clemson
Sammy Watkins is going to thrive in Chip Kelly’s college-like system.

9. Jets: Anthony Barr OLB UCLA
The Jets hope Geno Smith develops a chemistry with his current group of WRs and continue to build the defense. They can’t get back to the playoffs if they can’t beat Brady.

10. Bills: Bradley Roby CB Ohio State
Bradley Roby is back after off the field issues and playing well. He’ll fit right in with their young CBs.

NFL Mock Draft: Updated for October!

I am not going to write a long explanation for this mock. Basically, it was time to update the draft and include some guys that were left out of the last mock I did. Namely Tavon Austin makes his first appearance. Geno Smith moves up, Tyler Bray moves up, and a bunch of other guys move down.

Check it out:

1. Jaguars: Barkley, Matt QB USC
Once again, if Mr. Gabbert cannot avoid this team getting a top 3 pick, then this decision will be made for him.

2. Chiefs: Smith, Geno QB West Virginia
Geno Smith #2?! Yes, yes. In the NFL there just is not enough Quarterbacks to go around. Who else can the Chiefs turn to? Brady Quinn? Ricky Stanzi? They have to sell the farm to get Geno.

3. Browns: Hunter, Justin WR Tennessee
Greg Little is not cut out for the NFL. At least not from what he’s put on tape. Just too many drops. Browns replace him here.

4. Raiders: Lotulelei, Star DT Utah
The Raiders would like a quarterback, but something tells me they are committed to this Carson Palmer mistake. Star will impact the defense and make Dennis Allen a little bit happier.

5. Rams: Allen, Keenan WR UCLA
Danny Amendola gets hurt every season…. and he is their only good receiver. I think this is an easy pick here.

6. Dolphins: Matthews, Jake OT Texas AM
What are the Dolphins supposed to do? Allow Ryan Tannehill to run for his life and throw 18 interceptions every year? Doesn’t sound like a formula for success… they have to grab at least two receivers in the first few rounds of this draft as well.

7. Titans: Mingo, Barkevious OLB LSU
No RB? I believe Chris Johnson’s problem is a lack of talent all around him.. but that is a different blog for a different day. The Titans’ are quietly building a solid defense. Getting the player with the most potential in this draft is not going to hurt their rebuild. At all.

8. Panthers: Hankins, Johnathan DT Ohio State
Quick… name a Panthers’ defensive tackle. See, you couldn’t do it. No surprise the Panthers allow almost 6 yards per carry.

9. Colts: Jones, Jarvis OLB Georgia
Jarvis Jones was born to play in a 3-4 like the Colts’. This would be a match made in heaven. Imagine if they can flip Freeny for some other good picks too… the rebuild could be over that fast.

10. Buccaneers: Milliner, Demarcus CB Alabama
Ronde Barber is a safety now and should be retiring soon. That leaves Eric Wright and Aquib Talib at CB.

11. Jets: Montgomery, Sam DE LSU
I honestly have no idea what the Jets are doing. I OUGHT to have them drafting a Quarterback and getting rid of Sanchez AND Tebow… but Rex has too much pride to commit to a full rebuild. So the Jets will flounder around the top 10 for the next half decade. Sorry Ganggreen fans.

12. Rams: Joeckel, Luke OT Texas AM
Sam Bradford gets hit almost every play he attempts a pass. This team has to sure up the line or their franchise QB won’t have a long career.

13. Vikings: Short, Kawann DT Purdue
Kevin Williams is turning 33 soon. It is time to make a plan for when he retires, so the Vikings go DT here in the 2013 NFL mock draft.

14. Bengals: Werner, Bjoern DE Florida State
As said before, Michael Johnson is going to give you 4 really good games a year. That isn’t good enough.

15. Bills: Bray, Tyler QB Tennessee
Bray moves up in our draft! I really don’t like what I’ve seen from Tyler Wison so far this season. Yes I know he’s been injured but in totality I just feel it is time to cement Bray as the better QB. The Bills need to get rid of the stat stuffer that is Ryan Fitzpatrick and get a guy who defenses actually may have to fear one day. Bray can be that guy, and I think he’d fit in with their core really well.

16. Saints: Banks, Jonathan CB Mississippi State
Tracy Porter is in Denver, and Pat Robinson cannot lock up two receivers at the same time. Team Bountygate needs to improve that secondary asap.

17. Eagles: Rhodes, Xavier CB Florida State
Nnamdi just is not the same lock down CB as he was in Oakland’s scheme. He is still great, just not the #1 corner in the league anymore. It is time to bring in some young guns under him.

18. Lions: Lattimore, Marcus RB South Carolina
The Lions got some good production from Leshoure in the few games he actually played. Between Leshoure, Kevin Smith, and Jahvid Best does this team have a starting runner? Things to think about.

19. Cardinals: Lewan, Taylor OT Michigan
Kevin Kolb is going to get seriously injured if he continues to take the knockout shots that defenses have been able to get off on him. Part of that is him holding on to the ball forever, but also the blocking could improve.

20. Cowboys: Simon, John DE Ohio State
Is Anthony Spencer getting a Demarcus Ware contract? Let’s wait and see… Jerry Jones just MIGHT pay him, which is ironic.

21. Broncos: Reid, Eric S LSU
It cannot hurt Rahim Moore and Mike Adams to bring in some top competition for one of Denver’s starting safety spots.

22. Chargers: Eifert, Tyler TE Notre Dame
Anotnio Gates is no longer the All-Pro he once was. Part of that is injury, part of that is weight gain, part of that is just plain age.

23. Seahawks: Jeffcoat, Jackson OLB Texas
PETE CARROLL DOESN’T USE DRAFT BOARDS.

24. Bears: Teo, Manti ILB Notre Dame
Everyone has this pick… so it probably will not happen. For now I’ll pencil in Urlacher’s replacement here.

25. Steelers: Ogletree, Alec ILB Georgia
If Teo goes before the Steelers get a chance to pick then it will be between a runner to replace Mendenhall or another inside linebacker.

26. Patriots: Warmack, Chance OG Alabama
With the Patriots heavily invested in the running back position, I could see them stacking linemen too.

27. Packers: Bell, LeVeon RB Michigan State
If Alex Green runs (pun unintended) away with Cedric Benson’s job, then I’ll change this pick. For now the Pack get a runner to take some pressure off Aaron Rodgers having to make every single play for this team.

28. 49ers: Woods, Robert WR USC
The 49ers just drafted AJ Jenkins, signed Mario Manningham, and kept Randy Moss on an active roster. I reallllllly have no justification for this pick, but who knows how much longer Moss and Michael Crabtree will be Niners. Woods is the best player on the board too.

29. Bengals: Okafor, Alex DE Texas
I have the Bengals double dipping at defensive end because quite frankly, they cannot make the playoffs without generating consistent pressure and sacks on Ben Roethlisberger and Joe Flacco.

30. Giants: Amerson, David CB N.C. State
The Giants’ defensive backfield has struggled to keep receivers on lock so far this season.

31. Ravens: Austin, Tavon WR West Virginia
Tavon Austin to the Ravens? There is a good reason for this. One, Anquan Boldin will be playing his 11th NFL season next year. Two, Jacoby Jones is not a starting receiver. Three, Austin can take some handoffs and add a scary element to their offense with Ray Rice. Imagine Joe Flacco in shotgun, Boldin and Torrey Smith on the outside, Ray Rice and Tavon Austin in the backfield…. man.

32. Texans: Williams, Terrance WR Baylor
We are at the end of the 2013 NFL mock draft. I have the Texans grabbing the best receiver on the board. Kevin Walter and Andre Johnson are getting up in age, and there isn’t much behind them.

Just a few days ago I published my latest 2013 Mock Draft in which I predicted Smith would finally start to get his just due:

Thanks to a day that seemingly saw a record broken every time he passed the football, West Virginia’s Geno Smith has been named the Walter Camp Foundation FBS Offensive Player of the Week for his stunning Week 5 performance. Shattered and/or shattered school and Big 12 marks were littered amongst the 70-63 shootout win over Baylor as the junior completed 45-of-51 passes for 656 yards and eight touchdowns.

Can he rise past the two plus years of Matt Barkley hype?

I doubt it but I do have Smith cemented as a top 10 prospect and he is the number two quarterback on my rankings. Other draft pundits are slowly starting to come around, so by the end of the season I’m sure we’ll see Smith high in everyone’s rankings.

With four weeks of the season already upon us it was time to factor in some injuries, needs, and rankings in an all new draft. Check it out below. There is a shocker Quarterback pick you won’t want to miss: 1. Jaguars: Barkley, Matt QB […]

It’s time, it’s time for a new 2013 mock draft! With four weeks of the season already upon us it was time to factor in some injuries, needs, and rankings in an all new draft.

Check it out below. There is a shocker Quarterback pick you won’t want to miss:

1. Jaguars: Barkley, Matt QB USC
If the Jaguars have the #1 pick then you know two things happened: Blaine Gabbert started every game… and Blaine Gabbert looked like Blaine Gabbert. Plain and simple if he cannot win enough games to avoid this decision being made, it will be made for him by whoever replaces Gene Smith.

2. Dolphins: Jones, Jarvis OLB Georgia
I’d have Jones #1 if I didn’t have the Jaguars holding that selection. The Dolphins have needs everywhere, but grabbing the best player on the board sometimes is the band-aid your franchise needs.

3. Colts: Mingo, Barkevious OLB LSU
Andrew Luck has been up and down but all in all he is making a lot of journeymen receivers look good, especially with Reggie Wayne picking up injuries. Mingo comes in to replace Freeney who will probably find his way out so that he can return to being a true DE.

4. Browns: Hunter, Justin WR Tennessee
Most mocks have Kennan Allen here, I just decided to spice it up some and throw you Justin Hunter. It will be interesting to see who ends up the #1 WR when it’s said and done.

Commentary on the Browns: they need to get a WR that can catch. Next!

5. Rams: Allen, Keenan WR UCLA
Brian Quick is not going to rebuild this WR alone and Danny Amendola cannot be counted on to attempt to break the reception record every game.

6. Raiders: Smith, Geno QB West Virginia
The Carson Palmer trade was a disaster. First and foremost let’s address that. The Raiders have to smoothly brush that trade out of their minds and the easiest way to do it is to take a first round QB that can play as a rookie. There is still concern over Smith’s deep ball accuracy in some draft circles but I do think he will eventually get the hype just due and command a top 10 spot.

7. Saints: Milliner, Demarcus CB Alabama
The Saints are relying on Patrick Robinson to fill the shoes of Tracy Porter who took his big play ability to Denver.

8. Panthers: Lotulelei, Star DT Utah
This team could use a WR, but not this high. Carolina’s #1 problem is stopping the run. There is no one on their roster who is a threat at DT, why not fix that?

9. Titans: Amerson, David CB N.C. State
The Titans were said to have drafted Stephon Gilmore if he were available to them.

10. Chiefs: Wilson, Tyler QB Arkansas
Let’s be real: Matt Cassell is a good… backup Quarterback. Not a great starter. I think they will investigate Ricky Stanzi before pulling the trigger on a new passer in 2013.

11. Jets: Woods, Robert WR USC
I saw Tim Tebow lined up to catch passes. Next.

12. Rams: Joeckel, Luke OT Texas AM
Sam Bradford needs some time to throw. I feel like I’ve been typing that sentence for three seasons…

13. Buccaneers: Hankins, Johnathan DT Ohio State
Is a search party about to go out for Gerald McCoy? Too soon?

14. Bengals: Werner, Bjoern DE Florida State
Michael Johnson is a great pass rusher… like 4 games a year. That is not consistent enough for what this team needs to pressure Flacco and Big Ben.

15. Bears: Teo, Manti ILB Notre Dame
Rumor was that the Bears considered cutting Brian Urlacher this offseason. That would have been a major blow to the leadership of the team but to be real about it, they probably would have been fine. This team always seems to find ways to reload but never quite gets out the middle of the pack. Maybe adding young blood on defense in the form of Manti Teo and the continued development of Cutler-to-Marshall will finally get them over the hump.

16. Vikings: Williams, Terrance WR Baylor
Percy Harvin wants a new contract, and the Vikings refuse to pay him. This won’t end well.

17. Eagles: Bray, Tyler QB Tennessee
Shocked? You shouldn’t be. No promises have been made to Michael Vick or Andy Reid following the 2012 season. One… or both could find himself out of a job. If that happens the new regime won’t have any ties to Nick Foles and he will probably be retained just as a backup. Bray comes in as the new center piece of a new era in Philly… if… and only if Vick and Andy can’t get it done.

18. Broncos: Reid, Eric S LSU
On one side of the Broncos defensive backfield is Mike Adams, and the other side is Rahim “The Dream” Moore. If The Dream doesn’t start playing like the high second round pick he was, it wouldn’t be farfetched to see the Broncos go in a different direction.

19. Lions: Rhodes, Xavier CB Florida State
Don’t really have an explanation other than, NFC North = lots of passing. This pick will probably change.

20. Cowboys: Montgomery, Sam DE LSU
Anthony Spencer is still on this roster. Would YOU bet on him getting a big money extension? Because I’d love to take that bet.

21. Bills: Manuel, E.J. QB Florida State
Ut oh! Shocker #2! I didn’t tell you there was more than one in this mock!

If Florida State keeps winning they may just win it all, and if that happens the story of the year will be EJ Manuel. He’s a big, athletic QB with the tools there. He just needs time to develop. A year to study under Ryan Fitzpatrick could be just what he needs.

22. Chargers: Eifert, Tyler TE Notre Dame
Philip Rivers: is he overrated or underrated? The world will never know. We do know that Antonio Gates is developing some nagging injuries and he isn’t the dominant force he once was.

23. Seahawks: Lattimore, Marcus RB South Carolina
PETE CARROLL DOESN’T USE DRAFT BOARDS

I literally said to myself “what pick would make absolutely no sense here?” and then I picked that guy. Lattimore it is.

24. Cardinals: Matthews, Jake OT Texas AM
Is Kolb the real deal? Pardon me while I laugh at that.

25. Steelers: Bell, LeVeon RB Michigan State
I don’t even know if Bell, a Junior, will declare but if he does it is difficult to see the Steelers waiting around for him in round 2. Especially if Lattimore goes off the board.

26. Patriots: Williams, Brennan OT North Carolina
It looks like its time for some new blood along that offensive line.

27. Packers: Short, Kawann DT Purdue
I looked and looked for any other pick that could fit, but sometimes BPA (best player available) is the way you go.

28. 49ers: Jenkins, John DT Georgia
The beast that is Justin Smith cannot play forever.

29. Ravens: McDonald, T.J. S USC
Speaking of not playing forever, Ed Reed retires every off-season it seems like. TJ, while not the greatest defender in pass coverage, is a hard-hitting nightmare and an emotional leader.

30. Giants: Okafor, Alex DE Texas
The Giants stockpile defensive ends like no one’s business.

31. Falcons: Banks, Jonathan CB Mississippi State
Right now Brent Grimes is hurt, and they are down to their third and fourth string corners. I have no idea how Banks slid all the way here, but the Falcons are glad he did.

32. Texans: Lewan, Taylor OT Michigan
Even if the Texans win the Superbowl, who will fill in for Eric Winston who’s now in Kansas City?

First of all, this 2012 NFL mock draft had a large photo of Brock Osweiler as the banner so off the bat I expected to not agree with it. Charley Casserly over at NFL.com also tends to be a bit less controversial than other mocks so I expected everything to be 100% need based.

With that said here is Casserly’s newest mock. My comments below each pick:

1) Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford.
No RG3?!!!! Just kidding.

2) Washington Redskins: Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor.
Washington is already planning “Welcome to DC RG3” parties. Yup, this is a lock.

3) Minnesota Vikings: Matt Kalil, OT, USC.
This could end up being a trade if the Vikings get the Dolphins to flinch for Tannehill.

4) Cleveland Browns: Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama.
I agree Richardson is the pick. Who are the Brown’s RB’s? Hardesty and that other guy who’s name I won’t attempt to write.

5) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU.
This is a good pick. No issues.

6) St. Louis Rams: Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State.
Again, no issues here.

7) Jacksonville Jaguars: Melvin Ingram, DE/OLB, South Carolina.
Jags could go WR or D-line. I really like Malcolm Floyd here but is he worth a top 10 pick? Is Ingram? Tons of questions Jacksonville has to figure out!

8) Miami Dolphins: Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M.
Miami will not leave this draft without Ryan Tannehill.

9) Carolina Panthers: Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State.
Legadew Nene approves of this pick. I do not approve of Legadew Nene starting another year.

10) Buffalo Bills: Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa.
Solid pick

11) Kansas City Chiefs: Luke Kuechly, LB, Boston College.
Kansas City could boost their interior lines here. Kuechly seems like a luxury pick with Derrick Johnson and Eric Berry already in the middle of that defense.

12) Seattle Seahawks: Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina.
I agree Quinton will slide. Seahawks would be wise to make the move to get him.

13) Arizona Cardinals: Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State.
Mike Adams made great strides at the Senior bowl, but #13 overall? Cannot see it.

14) Dallas Cowboys: Mark Barron, S, Alabama.
Solid pick.

15) Philadelphia Eagles: Michael Brockers, DT, LSU.
I don’t buy the Brockers hype. But maybe Andy will.

16) New York Jets: Nick Perry, DE/OLB, USC.
Casserly says that NYJ might move up for Barron, which I could see.

17) Cincinnati Bengals: Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame.
I just don’t see Floyd lasting all the way to the late teens. Too many teams need a WR to let that happen: Carolina, New England, Jacksonville, Miami, etc. Someone would trade back in to get him.

18) San Diego Chargers: Whitney Mercilus, DE/OLB, Illinois.
Say it with me: PAGING LARRY ENGLISH!

19) Chicago Bears: Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis.
No Poe top 10?

20) Tennessee Titans: Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina.
A great pick to replace Finnegan

21) Cincinnati Bengals: David DeCastro, OG, Stanford.
Castro #21 overall? Probably the rookie that will play the best off the bat. He will go a bit higher.

22) Cleveland Browns: Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech.
Colt McCoy approves of this. However, I believe this pick in reality will probably be QB Brandon Weeden.

23) Detroit Lions: Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama.
Detroit needs a CB, and thanks to Kirkpatrick getting caught with that “sticky icky icky oooo wee!” he will slide.

24) Pittsburgh Steelers: Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford.
Ben Roethlisberger approves of this pick.

25) Denver Broncos: Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State.
I guess it’s a solid pick. I’d rather get Doug Martin though.

26) Houston Texans: Rueben Randle, WR, LSU.
Could be safer than Alshon Jeffrey who I have mocked here. Wait where is Kendall Wright in this 2012 mock draft?

27) New England Patriots: Chandler Jones, DE, Syracuse.
Nice pick, would like to see them get at least one offensive player in the first round though

28) Green Bay Packers: Shea McClellin, OLB, Boise State.
Green Bay is going to pick whatever OLB/DE they like the most.

29) Baltimore Ravens: Peter Konz, C, Wisconsin.
Baltimore is interested. It will happen if he is there.

30) San Francisco 49ers: Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin.
Another first round lineman? Can’t see it

31) New England Patriots: Harrison Smith, S, Notre Dame.
No WR? Smith a solid pick, but Pats need to help Brady

32) New York Giants: Dont’a Hightower, LB, Alabama.
What a slide for Hightower. Don’t think he will be here.

Click here for the second round
