For years we have heard the myth of the shutdown corner. This mythical creature has the ability to erase the opposing team’s best wide receiver, blanketing him into oblivion for three hours any give Sunday.
Champ Bailey was one of those guys, Deion Sanders, Nnamdi Asomugha, Darrelle Revis, and now Richard Sherman. There is only a small hiccup with the last name in this list- he gave up 94 yards to a rookie receiver in his 8th career game including a 50 yard bomb.
