Lions Rookie Mikel Leshoure Tears ACL, Done for the Season

Wow, this is the second rookie to have a major injury in the past week. Mikel Leshoure of the Lions has torn his ACL and will be on the sidelines in 2011. That is too bad for a team on the rise looking for a compliment to Jahvid Best.

Mikel was a second round draft pick out of Illinois. In his final season he rushed for a school record 1,697 yards and tied Rashard Mendenhall’s school record with 17 rushing touchdowns.

Maybe former Minnesota Viking and Boise State Bronco Ian Johnson steps up in the wake of Leshoure’s injury?
