This story is just starting to heat up. The internet speculated what could have gone wrong in Tampa after Buccaneers WR Antonio Brown took his pads off and walked off the field vs. the Jets on Sunday. It seems as if today we have a little more information.

No, AB did not quit his football career in the middle of a game to rap. Apparently he was in an enormous amount of pain and was being told he had to play. That is allegedly what the mystery conversation was about AB and coach Bruce Arians had before AB decided to quit on him in the middle of an active game.

Here is the news on AB getting an independent opinion on his ankle before the game:

Antonio’s friends were worried about the pain he was experiencing so they encouraged him to see a top surgeon outside the Bucs’ organization. That visit and an MRI confirm his serious pain and that story is developing.

Antonio is known for having a high pain threshold but the belief is Antonio probably should’ve never been on the field to begin with Sunday. An official statement from Brown’s camp will be issued soon. They have stayed quiet since Sunday.

Yeah, AB is about to sue the Bucs and get some sort of settlement money for this. I’m pretty sure a coach cannot force a player to play injured and for sure cannot cut him during a game for refusing to further injure himself.
