Ben Simmons had a very difficult 2021 NBA Playoff run. In several games Simmons refused to shoot the ball in the 4th quarter and even gave up a dunk to pass the ball in a 4th quarter scenario. Rumors are that Ben does not want to get fouled because he was in a shooting slump but the fans of the 76ers have let their voices be heard: they want Ben Simmons traded.

So will Ben Simmons be traded? Here is what the 76ers have decided:

Discussions on Philadelphia 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons’ future with the franchise started in Chicago this week and included Simmons’ agent, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, and Sixers management, sources told ESPN.

Paul engaged the Sixers on whether it makes sense to work together to find a trade before the start of next season, but no request was made and the sides are expected to continue talking ahead of the July 29 NBA draft and August free agency, sources said. The 76ers are committed to keeping Simmons as a central piece of their franchise, sources said.

Unless the 76ers can find a way to pull a legitimate superstar point guard for Simmons there is no way to trade him. Names like Kemba Walker and Dennis Schröder are floating around out there but Ben is the better player with all things considered. Maybe the 76ers should look at adding more pieces around Simmons and Embiid instead of breaking them up. We will see what happens.
