Jay-Z To Buy The Washington Football Team?

Can it happen? Could the Rocnation CEO Jay-Z accomplish his goal of becoming a majority owner in a major American sport? Well word on the internet streets is that Jay-Z is highly interested in acquiring the Washington Football Team if it comes up for sale.

If you remember, Jay did receive a small percent of a percentage for being part of the marketing for the Nets relocation to Brooklyn.

The Washington Football Team may soon have a prominent new investor. According to a report from Burgundy Blog, Jay-Z is “actively divesting” assets to position himself for purchase of stake in the franchise.

“If you listen to my podcast… I’ve been saying this for months,” NBC Sports Washington’s JP Finlay said Wednesday on 106.7 The Fan, lending some credence to the report. “I heard it from somebody sort of connected to the NFL eight, nine months ago that this could happen.”

“Listen, Dan Snyder just had to take out a debt to buy off the rest of the team,” Finlay said. “Eventually he’s going to sell out parcels of this team again. That’s how it works. You’re gonna get some cash.”
