Denver Broncos Start Out 0-3 Amid Lock And Sutton Injuries But All Hope Isn’t Lost

It’s tough being a Denver Broncos fan these days. I speak from experience. No Von, no Lock, no Sutton and it’s looking like our offensive line isn’t as great as they were supposed to be on paper. But everything isn’t all bad.

Here are some things as a Broncos fan myself I think we can look forward to:

Drew Lock Will Come Back
As a personal rule I don’t make a judgement on a quarterback until he’s started 20 games in the league. We still need about 15 more games to see what Drew Lock really is in my opinion. Is he the safe captain check down who we’ve seen recently or is he the gun slinger we saw at Mizzou? I’m hoping it’s somewhere in the middle but he’s still learning and I’m excited to see what he can bring.

0-3 Is Still Playoff Eligible
Before the NFL expanded the playoffs 0-3 was a death sentence but not anymore. Now that there is a 7th slot available there is no reason WE CAN’T BE THAT TEAM!!!!! Ok, let me stop hyping the set up. We all know it is a long shot but hey that spot is there for a reason. Let’s get it.

Sutton’s Injury Opens Up Snaps
A small glimmer of hope in a drastic situation. KJ Hamler is getting important experience early in his career and 1st round pick Jerry Jeudy is also acclimating to getting more snaps without Sutton on the field.

We Learned the O Line Isn’t Good
I had high hopes for Llyod Cushenberry and while they may still pan out, watching him just get leaned back by Vita Vea for easy sacks was disheartening. I think we all thought that the offseason additions were going to sure the interior of this line up but I’m not that sure anymore. It is looking like we need to stock the shelves with more talent on the line.

At 0-3, the team isn’t mathematically out of the playoffs yet. The Raiders lost, the Chargers lost, and with some Lamar Jackson help the Chiefs will lose this week as well. While Denver isn’t out of it completely it is clearly time to get it in gear ASAP.
