4. Cowboys: Caleb Wilson TE UCLA

(Round 3) If Dallas goes the route of Lawrence in round 1, then TE still becomes a need. Wilson is about 6’4″ 245 lbs. so a little bigger than Fant. What’s surprising is that despite playing at UCLA, he’s actually a good blocker, so you don’t have to work with him too much on that as he should be ready. He catches the ball, is a solid, not great route runner. His main issue is speed. While I do think speed is an overrated characteristic, being able to get down the field is still a must in the NFL. He also needs to improve on route running. Wilson may never be that great TE, but will be solid for many years and will be well worth the investment.

5. Cowboys: Jaylen Smith WR Louisville

(Round 3) Beasley will be a FA after this upcoming season, and T Will could be cut if the Cowboys feel he is starting to be a progress stopper for younger players, meaning Dallas will need another WR, and if he lasts this long Smith is a perfect option. He’s 6’4″ about 210-215 lbs. with great speed and acceleration. He can catch screen passes, but as of right now he’s more so utilized as a “go” receiver or deep threat. So I envision him at least in his first year as a Brice Butler type, but if he shows improvement going across the middle, he could easily be a 1st round option.
