5. Cowboys: Ben Boulware ILB Clemson

Round 6 Ben Boulware 6’0″ 235 lbs. LB isn’t a huge need for Dallas. But their LB have a tendency to get hurt, and it would be good for depth. Boulware isn’t an athletic specimen, but he does know how to play football. He is a smart player, with great read and react skills. Is a natural leader, as shown that he was voted a defensive captain. He is no stranger to special teams either, which should earn him a spot on a team. His lack of speed are an issue in coverage, and can be a problem when plays bounce outside. He is best when he plays in a Cover 2 system in which can cover some of his deficiencies.

6. Cowboys: Josh Tupou DT Colorado

Round 7 Josh Tupou 6’3″ 362 lbs. The Cowboys have plenty of 3 tech like players, but it’s time they add a bigger DT to swallow up blockers. He has unnatural strength and first step quickness for a man his size. He can fit in either a 3-4 or 4-3 defense. He is more of a developmental player, but his talent will intrigue teams to find a spot for him on their rosters especially as an early down player.

7. Cowboys: Donnel Pumphrey RB San Diego State

Round 7 Donnel Pumphrey 5’8″ 169 lbs. Look at this McFadden, Morris, and Dunbar are all FA after this year. While I think McFadden returns, it is important to add a 3rd RB. Pumphrey does not possess the ideal size for a RB. About 30 lbs. too light. But he offers a similar skill set to Lance Dunbar. He has very good hands, and works well in space. He fools defenders playing the game like chess when defenders are playing checkers. He is always several steps ahead of everyone else with great initial burst, acceleration to hit top speed almost instantly. Again he is a little small to receive a lot of snaps as a pure RB, so finding an ideal position is going to be a challenge. He is a lot shiftier than Lance Dunbar, being more comparable to Cole Beasley in that area. He could possibly return punts and kicks.
