The 2014 NFL Draft is closing in at ramming speed, and we’re not going to be ready for it. From all the rumors, looming trades and the actual start of the draft with the #1 overall pick, we’ll be lucky to survive Thursday night – let alone get through all three days.

Needless to say, the NFL pushing the draft back has really messed with our minds, which clearly has not kept us all from overthinking value and where certain players might fall.

That’s natural, because we’re human, but the one thing we might not consider is that the same goes for NFL scouts, coaches and GM’s. Yes, believe it or not, Jerry Jones and the like are not robots, but living, breathing humans. Some of them even pay their taxes; hey-o!

The point is, even the front office brass of the most established franchises can overlook talent, while they’re certainly reach for some at some point, as well. Naturally, that inevitably causes household names to plummet from the ranks.

Just last year we saw it happen to Geno Smith and Matt Barkley, and few can forget the epic tumbles of Brady Quinn, Aaron Rodgers and many others.

Who will take equal tumbles, potentially all the way out of round one? These five guys just might:

Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville

Initially the top-rated quarterback and proposed #1 overall pick since the top team usually needs a franchise passer, Bridgewater’s stock has taken a dramatic hit over the past month or so. From size concerns to facing a weak level of competition, he already held some red flags. But add a poor Pro Day and the guy might fall out of the first round.

True, the knee-jerk reaction comes off as a bit harsh, but the extra time to overthink, sit back, relax and re-think these prospects is murdering some of their stock. Bridgewater probably tops the list. Not only do teams not want to risk high picks on passers right now, but they’re squirming to trade down just so they don’t feel obliged to do so. Bridgewater is seen as a guy that can be available in round, two, which might just make that notion a reality.

C.J. Mosley, ILB, Alabama

A fine athlete with excellent leadership and great instincts, you won’t find a better linebacker to man the middle of your 4-3 scheme than Mosley. He has the closing speed, overall athleticism and wrap-up tackling ability you look for in your man in the middle, while he even has the range to excel in coverage. He can also be plopped in a 3-4 next to another inside ‘backer, giving GM’s little reason to not like him.

Whether they like him isn’t the problem. The need for elite inside linebackers is.

Teams just don’t need Mosley right now, and even the ones that do, either have a much more pressing need or would rather take their chances landing a slightly lesser talent in round two or three. He is easily a top-10 talent and if he were taken there, no one would even really go nuts about it. But the lack of need is so great, that no one would be all that shocked if he slid to the bottom of the first round, either. In fact, it might not be insane to think he’d still be available at the beginning of round two.

Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State

From a talent and skill-set perspective, Roby is quite easily one of the best corner prospects in this year’s draft. He has the elite speed and athleticism GM’s look for in first round corners, while he also has adequate size and lockdown ability.

Unfortunately, Roby has had some off field issues and didn’t have the greatest 2013 season. His tape from last year leaves many scratching their heads, while he visibly lacks focus and consistency. He can still turn it around and become an elite corner at the next level, but sticking in the first round will require a team at the bottom end of day one to take a bit of a chance. Don’t be shocked at all to see him slide into the middle of round two.

Stephon Tuitt, DE/DT, Notre Dame

Tuitt is a very interesting prospect, as you simply can’t teach his mammoth size and strength, while his upside is saliva-inducing. He’s also quite athletic and extremely versatile. He can play all over the line on a 4-3 depending on where his weight at, while he can play the end on a 3-4 and possibly even beef up to man the nose tackle spot. What he wants to be and where he gets is probably entirely up to him.

The problem is he’s extremely inconsistent and has issues with focus and conditioning. He didn’t have a great 2013 by most accounts, either, and just didn’t look like a difference-maker at least half the time on tape. In the end, it’s going to come down to upside vs. “what has he done lately?”. Tuitt is a fringe first rounder at this point, and it should shock no one if he doesn’t make the cut at the end of day one.

Louis Nix III, NT, Notre Dame

Aside from Mosley, Nix is the main guy who is pretty likely to free fall, but doesn’t deserve to in the least. A mammoth beast in the middle of the defensive line, Nix is quite agile for a man his size, and is able to explode off the line and track down the ball carrier in pursuit.

We could rant all day about how he’s the perfect nose tackle for a 3-4 system, but that’s actually his problem. With no real versatility, Nix is correctly pigeon holed to play that exact spot and only that spot at the next level. Within reason, that almost surely leaves only the Cardinals, Packers, Chargers and Patriots as potential suitors in round one. If they find another need more pressing, a very talented 3-4 nose tackle could be ready and waiting at the top of round two.

It’s that time of year again, well not technically. It’s a week after that time of the year due to the NFL wanting to reschedule the draft but that’s a whole different story… either way, my FINAL 2014 mock is hot off the presses!

In case you forgot, in 2013 YA BOY scored a more accurate draft than:

Mike Florio – Pro Football Talk

Scott Wright – Draft Countdown

Mel Kiper Jr – ESPN

Drafttek

NFL Mocks

and a bunch of other people

Not that this is a competition or anything, but if we’re going to keep score why not brag a little bit.

I have some surprises in there and I will tell you up front that Teddy Bridgewater is not in my first round. I feel like to much slander has gone on between his pro day and draft day. If the extra week hurt anyone in particular, it was he the most.

After the draft I will be taking the draft creator down for a little as I update it for the next season. There are a handful of improvements I want to code so I’m not in a rush to get it back up. I assure you it will be back by mid August/September at the latest. I really want to take my time and improve it since so many other sites have finally decided to “borrow” our four year old idea. (Got to love them though, right?)

Before I get out of here I want to thank YOU ALL. There would be no Mock Draft HQ if it weren’t for you all posting your drafts across the internet and interacting with one another.

Finally BIG SHOUT OUT to the writing staff. I couldn’t do it without them. The guys have brought you all GREAT articles week after week and I continue to be impressed by the day with their analysis.

Thank you to:

LaDarian

Max

Tyler

Ryan

every person that has ever submitted a mock draft, article, or emailed me with an idea to make this site better!

Not enough of the warm and fuzzy stuff, come tear apart my final 2014 mock draft!

With one of the most controversial and anticipating drafts in recent memory, here are my predictions for the 2014 NFL Draft.

1. Houston Texans – DE, Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina

Although the Texans need a quarterback, a rare talent such as Clowney is just too much to pass up on. A physical freak, Clowney did not only impress at the Scouting Combine, where he posted a 4.53 40-yard dash time (faster than Russell Wilson and Cam Newton), but Clowney also showed that he can drop back in coverage at his pro day. Now pair his elite athleticism with the mentoring of JJ Watt? This pick is a no-brainer.

2. St. Louis Rams – OT, Greg Robinson, Auburn

The Rams need to protect the fragile Sam Bradford in order to gain any ground against their dominant division. Greg Robinson is what they need. With Jake Long obviously not a long-term solution, Greg Robinson makes perfect sense. Robinson is an absolute destroyer in run blocking. Robinson can completely overpower defensive linemen and also impress with his athleticism in the second level. The Rams can go many directions with this pick but when a prospect who draws Larry Allen comes your way you don’t pass on him.

3. Jacksonville – OLB, Khalil Mack, Buffalo

Khalil Mack absolutely dominated college football throughout his career at UB. Athleticism and fundamentally ready for the NFL are the two things you think about when you say Khalil Mack. Jacksonville needs some superstars on both sides of the ball and Mack can be the future of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

4. Cleveland – QB, Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M

The most electrifying player in college football, Manziel can not only put his team on his back, but his city as well. Cleveland fans will fall in love with this incredible player who can extend the play with his feet as well as driving the ball down the field as well as anyone in this draft class. Manziel can throw a beautiful pass on the run and the fact that some scouts don’t see him as a top 10 pick is just ridiculous. Manziel has excellent vision and play making ability. Johnny Football will be a great fit with the Browns.

5. Oakland – WR, Sammy Watkins, Clemson

The closest thing to a “sure thing” since Larry Fitzgerald, Watkins’s ability to go up for the ball is as good as any. The Clemson product catches the ball as naturally as any, while also possessing great vision and the ability to create yards after the catch. Watkins is not only quick and elusive, but he can also lower his shoulder and plow through defenders if need be. Sammy Watkins can help spark the Oakland franchise and help get them back on the right track.

6. Atlanta Falcons – OT, Jake Matthews, Texas A&M

With Robinson and both Clowney and Mack off the board, Atlanta won’t be upset with this consolation pick in Jake Matthews. Matthews can immediately be plugged in at right tackle and dominate that side until left tackle Sam Baker has another injury problem. With exceptional pass blocking and run blocking ability, Matthews can also get to the second level and dominate linebackers. This player can really help the Atlanta offense in all levels.

7. Tampa Bay – WR, Mike Evans, Texas A&M

With Lovie Smith and McCown now running the show, this pick makes perfect sense. Vincent Jackson and Mike Evans would be a matchup nightmare especially in the NFC South. Evans is not only a freakish athlete for his size, he also has great catching ability and is able to outrun and bully the corner lined up in front of him. Evans is able to win jump balls with his strength and has the sticky hands that will really help him excel at the next level. Above all, Evans ran a 4.46 40 at the combine. Pair him with Vincent Jackson and this team now has an incredible receiving duo.

8. Minnesota – QB, Derek Carr, Fresno State

With the biggest arm in the draft and the ball with the best velocity, Derek Carr will really help open up the passing game for Minnesota. Stretching the field for Cordarrelle Patterson is something the Vikings had trouble doing last year: not anymore. Carr is very smart in his pre-snap reads and is able to pick a defense apart. Carr has unbelievable vision and the Vikings will regret it for a long time if they pass on him.

9. Buffalo – OT, Taylor Lewan, Michigan

Lewan is arguably the best offensive lineman in this draft. Lewan is the best pass blocker in this draft and is undoubtedly going to make an impact in his first season. Lewan will help protect Manuel, something he didn’t have last year.

10. Detroit – WR, Odell Beckham Jr., LSU

ODB is a fast and athletic player that would without-a-doubt become an instant starter on the Detroit Lions. With his great hands and his phenomenal route running abilities, Beckham will not only beat you before he gets the ball in his hands but after as well. This shifty 5’11 receiver has the vision and explosiveness to completely turn a defense inside-out. Now pair him with the best receiver in the NFL? Uh oh.

11. Tennessee – CB, Darqueze Dennard, Michigan State

After losing their sticky man corner in the offseason, drafting a very similar player makes sense. Dennard is a very fast and very physical man corner. Dennard has great ball skills and will immediately make an impact in the Titans’ secondary.

12. NY Giants – DT, Aaron Donald, Pittsburgh

Donald isn’t the Clowney or Manziel of this draft in terms of hype, but he definitely has a chance to have the most impact on a team after the draft. Aaron Donald is a fast and strong defensive tackle who just bullies offensive linemen throughout the entire game. Donald has an incredibly fast first step that makes him get immediate pressure to opposing backfields.

13. St. Louis – S, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, Alabama

After already addressing the offensive line with their first pick, St. Louis will look to help their defense at 13. Clinton-Dix is a player that a team like the Rams will really enjoy. Besides being a player with great instincts and awareness, Clinton-Dix can play over the top and also come down and lay the big hit. An aggressive DB like this guy will really help when playing in the NFC West.

14. Chicago – LB, C.J. Mosley, Alabama

Still looking for their long term replacement for Brain Urlacher, Mosley can help fill that hole. Like his ex-teammate Clinton-Dix, Mosley sets his play apart from others because of his awareness and instincts. Mosley is great tackler and a great leader as well.

15. Pittsburgh – TE, Eric Ebron, North Carolina

Heath Miller won’t be around forever but for the few seasons he has left, he can help this physical freak Eric Ebron reach his full potential. Ebron has the unique combination of size and speed that haven’t been seen in a prospect since Vernon Davis. Like Davis, Ebron moves like a wide receiver and but at the same time can create a huge mismatch just because of how big and athletic he is.

16. Dallas – DE, Kony Ealy, Missouri

After losing Demarcus Ware this offseason, Jerry Jones will most likely try and find a replacement for the future hall of famer as soon as possible. Look no further than Kony Ealy. Ealy is a very fast and athletic player with a very high motor. One of the best players right off the snap in college football, Ealy has the potential to be something special.

17. Baltimore – LB, Anthony Barr, UCLA

Anthony Barr is a very fast and athletic player that can beat you right off the snap based on his speed alone. Barr can bull rush the passer as well as having a very effective swim move. Despite facing double teams throughout his entire last season at UCLA, Barr was still able to make some noise behind the line.

18. NY Jets – WR, Brandin Cooks, Oregon State

The Jets are in desperate need of a playmaker on the offensive side of the ball and who else than Brandin Cooks who ran a 4.31 40-yard-dash. Cooks is an elusive playmaker with quick hands to grab the ball and take off like he’s shown so many times that he can do. Cooks has unreal stop and go moves and watching him play is almost like playing a video game.

19. Miami – OT/OG, Zack Martin, Notre Dame

Miami needs to gain some strength to their offensive line. Martin is a player who can play guard or tackle and at this point in the draft would be a great value pick. Martin has good quickness off the snap and has exceptional play in the second level.

20. Arizona – QB, Blake Bortles, Central Florida

Bortles should fall on draft day. He has the athletic ability and the anticipation on throws to succeed. Besides being a fairly raw talent, Bortles should have a better chance of being a solid starter if he can sit behind a proven veteran for a few seasons.

21. Green Bay – S, Calvin Pryor, Lousiville

It has been shown in the past that Green Bay is very vulnerable to a big, athletic quarterback. No more of that with Pryor at safety. Pryor is an strong, hard hitting, ball hawking safety. A player who can intimidate opposing receivers because of his ability to make a big hit. Pryor is also a very reliable tackler with great closing speed on the opposing player. Put Pryor on Green Bay’s defense and now they have a s0lid secondary.

22. Philadelphia – CB, Kyle Fuller, Virginia Tech

Chip Kelly loves players who are versatile and not afraid to make a big play. Kyle Fuller is exactly that. With the ability to play outside, slot, safety, or even outside linebacker, Fuller is not only flexible at different positions, he can also play them well. Philly had trouble against the pass last year and with a hard hitting and physical man corner such as Fuller, they now have more than just a decent secondary.

23. Kansas City – CB, Justin Gilbert, Oklahoma State

Even if Brandon Flowers stays on the team, Gilbert is a phenomenal pick, especially at 23. Gilbert is a big, fast corner with great ball skills. Gilbert is athletic enough to stick with a receiver all over the field.

24.Cincinnati – LB, Ryan Shazier, Ohio State

Shazier is a fast player, especially for the linebacker position. He will fit perfectly into the Bengals’ 4-3 defense. Shazier is a smart player in the sense that he puts himself in positions to always make plays. Shazier has great technique as a tackler and will only get better.

25. San Diego – CB, Justin Verrett, TCU

If Verrett was 6’0, he would easily be a top 10 pick. The problem with Verrett is, he can get bullied by bigger receivers if the can get good leverage. Besides that, Verrett is a great tackler and very good in coverage. Believe Verrett has the ability to a a star a the corner position, even if that means he has to play in the slot.

26. Cleveland – WR, Marqise Lee, USC

After taking Manziel with the 4th pick, Cleveland can now add some more pieces for him to succeed on offense. Lee is a long receiver who is fast and elusive. Pair Lee with Gordon and Cameron and now Cleveland has good offense.

27. New Orleans – DE, Dee Ford, Auburn

After just missing on Lee, New Orleans will be happy to be able to take the fast defensive end. Ford relies on his speed off the snap to be an effective pass rusher. Ford can set the edge and on occasion even be asked to drop back in coverage. Although he is a bit undersized, Ford can still be very disruptive rushing the passer.

28. Carolina – OT, Cyrus Kouandijo, Alabama

Even though receiver is a huge need for Carolina, after losing their longtime starting left tackle this offseason, Carolina desperately will need help protecting Cam Newton. Kouandijo is a big, physical offensive tackle that has the ability to be an elite talent.

29. New England – DT, Louis Nix III, Notre Dame

Nix has a 340-pound frame which gives him a load of natural strength. Nix has quick feet which helps him apply quick pressure. Nix also plays with a strong motor and will be a great replacement for Wilfork when he eventually leaves or retires.

30. San Francisco – WR, Allen Robinson, Penn State

Not freakishly athletic, but he gets the job done. Robinson has a large frame already, with room to get even bigger. Great acceleration with the ability to be a dangerous after catching the ball. Nasty with the ball in his hand while at the same time having the elusiveness to shake off defenders and pick up a lot of yards once he has the ball in his hands.

31. Denver – QB, Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville

Boom. Denver drafts Peyton Manning’s eventual replacement in Teddy Bridgewater. If Bridgewater does happen to fall to 31, there is a very high chance that Denver will take him. Bridgewater already has great mechanics and being behind Manning for a few seasons will help him get fully developed and even go farther than his already high ceiling. Bridgewater is able to run out of the pocket if need be and throws a very tight spiral while also being able to step up in the pocket and deliver a tough throw, even while under a lot of pressure.

32. Seattle – DT, Ra’Shede Hageman, Minnesota

Losing Red Bryant in free agency hurts and Hageman can help Seattle recover from that loss. Hageman consistently out plays offensive linemen, completely manhandling and bullying them deep into the backfield, showing off his speed and strength, which is rare for a person of his size. Hageman can just be a luxury pick and can be used when need be on Seattle’s front 4.

1.	HOU – Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina. Best overall player in this year’s draft. Texans need a franchise QB but instead decide to draft a dominate DE to pair with with Watt, Mercilus and company. I see them adding a QB at the top of round 2 to compete with Ryan Fitzpatrick and Case Keenum.

2. STL – Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn. Robinson has a higher upside but Matthews is the more polished player right now. I think the Rams take a chance with him despite his boom or bust potential. Best case scenario he’s Jason Peters, at worst he’s Jason Smith.

3.	JAX – Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville. Best QB in this year’s class IMO. Jags get their franchise QB and Bridgewater is a perfect fit for Jedd Fisch’s offense.

4.	CLE – Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson. The Browns add Watkins to an already impressive core on offense of Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron, and Ben Tate. Add a quarterback and the Browns have the makings of a dynamic offense.

5.	OAK – Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M. The more polished Tackle of the top 2 prospects. The Raiders go best player available here and get a top 5 player.

6.	ATL – Khalil Mack, DE/OLB, Buffalo. Atlanta has holes on their offensive and defensive line so they could go either way. I think they go best player available, which is Mack. Mack gives them a legitimate threat at 3-4 OLB which will allow Mike Nolan to use more 3-4 base looks.

7.	TB – Johnny Manziel , QB, Texas A&M. The Buccaneers could choose Manziel’s teammate at Texas A&M Mike Evans here but instead they grab a dynamic QB. Manziel has boom or bust potential but will benefit from sitting behind an established veteran like Josh McCown.

8.	MIN – Blake Bortles, QB, UCF. The Vikings need a franchise QB and I think they reach here to fill that need.

9.	BUF – Eric Ebron, TE, UNC. The Bills continue to stockpile weapons for EJ Manuel. Ebron is a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. Too fast for linebackers yet to big and physical for safeties.

10.	DET – Kyle Fuller, CB, Virginia Tech. The Lions get a physical press corner to add to their secondary. Fuller has good size, speed and looks the part of a starting corner. Day 1 starter in Detroit

11.	TEN – Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State. Gilbert is the best player available at a position of need for the Titans.

12.	NYG – Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh. The Giants need help inside so they add Donald a quick, pass rushing 3-technique that’ll be a day 1 starter in New York.

13.	STL – Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M. The Rams add a talented, big matchup nightmare like Mike Evans to help Sam Bradford. Make or break year for Bradford, no excuses.

14.	CHI – HaHa Clinton-Dix, S, Alabama. Most complete safety in this year’s class. Can play centerfield or in the box.

15.	PIT – Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan. The Steelers have plenty of holes but they grab a franchise LT here to protect Ben Roethlisberger.

16.	DAL – Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri. The Cowboys are in desperate need of defensive lineman so any DE or DT here would be a good pick.

17. BAL – Zach Martin, OT/OG, Notre Dame. The Ravens need depth on the offensive line and Martin provides that because of his ability to play RT or Guard.

18.	NYJ – Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State. The Jets expressed interest in plenty of receiving options via free agency this offseason so I know this is a position they want to address. For a team devoid of playmakers adding a shifty receiver like Cooks makes them a whole lot better.

19.	MIA – Xavier Sua’ Filo, G, UCLA. Plug in XSF at RG or LG and you get an instant impact player for 10+ years. Perennial pro bowler.

20.	ARZ – Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA. The Cardinals add a 3-4 rush linebacker with huge upside. No pressure for him to play immediately because they have John Abraham in place.

21.	GB – Ra’Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota. The Packers continue to add depth and youth to their defensive line that was hit by injuries last season. Hageman has the power and quickness to play NT or 5-techinque.

22.	PHI – CJ Mosley, LB, Alabama. The Eagles go best player available here. ILB doesn’t look like a huge need until you consider DeMeco Ryans will be 30 next season and is on the downside of his career. Mosley would form a great tandem with Mychal Kendricks.

23.	KC – Odell Beckham Jr., WR, LSU. Dwayne Bowe had a down year and was not the #1 receiver Alex Smith needed. OBJ is a dynamic receiver with experience as a return man that can develop into a #1.

24.	CIN – Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan State. Leon Hall has torn his achilles twice in 3 years. Terrance Newman and Pacman Jones are getting up there in age. Dennard is a tall, long corner who answered questions about his long speed at the combine running a 4.51 40.

25.	SD – Jason Verrett, CB, TCU. The Chargers get my #1 rated corner in this class here at #25, steal. Verrett is small but has elite potential. Would be a day 1 starter in San Diego.

26.	CLE – Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State. Carr has the most arm talent of any QB in the class. The Browns add their QB of the future and have plenty of weapons for him to flourish.

27.	NO – Dee Ford, OLB, Auburn. I’m not the biggest Dee Ford fan. I think at this point he’s a one trick pony but adding Ford to Junior Gallette and Cameron Jordan forms a nice young pass rushing trio.

28.	CAR – Cody Latimer, WR, Indiana. The Panthers could draft any receiver here (besides Kelvin Benjamin) and I’d approve of it. Latimer is a physical specimen with good ball skills that’ll be a perfect target for Cam Newton.

29.	NE – Louis Nix, NT, Notre Dame. I’ve compared Nix to Vince Wilfork throughout this whole draft process so who better to learn from than the man himself? Nix is a great athlete for his size and I think can be better than Wilfork was in his prime.

30.	SF – Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State. Despite his recent legal troubles Roby is still a 1st round pick. He has elite speed and is a good athlete with good ball skills.

31.	DEN – Ryan Shazier, LB, Ohio State. The Broncos replace Wesley Woodyard with a player very similar to him. Shazier is undersized but is a speedy, rangy linebacker that can cover a lot of ground sideline to sideline.

32.	SEA – Joel Bitono, OT/OG, Nevada. Bitono is a T/G tweener that can help the defending champs in both areas. I personally think he’d be best suited at RG.

Round 2:

33.	Houston Texans: Zach Mettenberger, QB, LSU.

34.	Washington Redskins: Morgan Moses, OT, UVA.

35.	Cleveland Browns: Chris Borland, ILB, Wisconsin.

36.	Oakland Raiders: DeMarcus Lawerence, DE, Boise State.

37.	Atlanta Falcons: JaWaun James, OT, Tennessee.

38.	Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kyle Van Noy, OLB, BYU.

39.	Jacksonville Jaguars: Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State.

40.	Minnesota Vikings: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State.

41.	Buffalo Bills: Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama.

42.	Tennessee Titans: Scott Crichton, DE/OLB, Oregon State

43.	New York Giants: Troy Niklas, TE, Notre Dame.

44.	St. Louis Rams: Jimmie Ward, S, NIU.

45.	Detroit Lions: Marqise Lee, WR, USC

46.	Pittsburgh Steelers: Pierre Desir, CB, Lindenwood.

47.	Dallas Cowboys: Calvin Pryor, S, Louisville.

48.	Baltimore Ravens: Ahmad Dixon, S, Baylor.

49.	New York Jets: Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington.

50.	Miami Dolphins: Allen Robinson, WR, Penn State.

51.	Chicago Bears: Dominique Easley, DT, Florida.

52.	Arizona Cardinals: Deone Bucannon, S, Washington State.

53.	Green Bay Packers: Marcus Martin, OC/OG, USC.

54.	Philadelphia Eagles: Jordan Matthews, WR, Vanderbilt.

55.	Cincinnati Bengals: Carl Bradford, OLB, Arizona State.

56.	San Francisco 49ers (from Kansas City): Jarvis Landry, WR, LSU.

57.	San Diego Chargers: Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech.

58.	New Orleans Saints: Donte Moncrief, WR, Ole Miss.

59.	Indianapolis Colts: Gabe Jackson, G, Mississippi State.

60.	Carolina Panthers: Davante Adams, WR, Fresno State.

61.	San Francisco 49ers: Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas.

62. New England Patriots: Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech.

63.	Denver Broncos: David Yankey, OG, Stanford.

64.	Seattle Seahawks: Kelvin Benjamin, WR, Florida State.

Jadeveon Clowney? Sammy Watkins? Johnny Football? Everyone wants to know where these college superstars will fall in the NFL draft on May 8th.

Anticipated to be one of best drafts in recent memory, teams such as the Oakland Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Cleveland Browns can really start to point their teams in the right direction. It all starts with the first round.

1. Houston Texans – DE Jadeveon Clowney, South Carolina

2. St. Louis Rams – OT Greg Robinson, Auburn

The Rams need to protect the fragile Sam Bradford in order to gain any ground against their dominant division. Greg Robinson is what they need. A 6-5 332 pound man who can run a 4.92 40? Yes please. The Rams can go many directions with this pick but with Jake Long recovering from a torn ACL, Robinson makes the most sense.

3. Jacksonville Jaguars – QB Johnny Manziel, Texas A&M

The most electrifying player in college football, Manziel can not only put his team on his back, but his city as well. Jacksonville fans will fall in love with this electrifying player who can extend the play with his feet as well as driving the ball down the field as well as anyone in this draft class. Manziel can throw a beautiful pass on the run and the fact that some scouts don’t see him as a top 10 pick is just ridiculous. Manziel will be a great fit with the Jaguars.

4. Cleveland Browns – WR Sammy Watkins, Clemson

The closest thing to a “sure thing” since Larry Fitzgerald, Watkins’ ability to go up for the ball is as good as any. A pro ready prospect, Watkins is a phenomenal route runner and exceptional at everything else he does. Watkins and Gordon will make one of the most intimidating duos of receivers for years to come.

5. Oakland Raiders – OLB Khalil Mack, Buffalo

Great football instincts and a special ability to rush the passer, Khalil Mack will help the Raiders’ defense in a great way. Arguably the best player in this draft.

6. Atlanta Falcons – OT Jake Matthews, Texas A&M

With Robinson and both Clowney and Mack off the board, Atlanta won’t be upset with this consolation pick in Jake Matthews. With terrific pass blocking ability , Matthews will give Matt Ryan enough time to get the ball to their star receivers.

7. Tampa Bay – WR Mike Evans, Texas A&M

8. Minnesota – QB Derek Carr, Fresno State

With the biggest arm in the draft and the ball with the best velocity, Derek Carr will really help open up the passing game for Minnesota. Stretching the field for Cordarrelle Patterson is something the Vikings had trouble doing last year: not anymore.

9. Buffalo – TE Eric Ebron, North Carolina

With Stevie Johnson, Spiller, Jackson, Goodwin, and now Eric Ebron, Buffalo now has one of the best offenses (besides EJ Manuel) in all of football. Ebron has the ability to make jaw-dropping catches and can also burn your defense. Very athletic for a tight end.

10. Detroit – DT Aaron Donald, Pittsburgh

Although help in the secondary is needed, Detroit will not pass up on one of the best overall players in the draft. With his ability to shed blocks and get behind the line of scrimmage, Donald and Suh will create an unstoppable duo in the trenches.

11. Tennessee – CB Justin Gilbert, Oklahoma State

After losing Verner in free agency, Tennessee will look for a secondary help early in the draft. With great ball skills, Gilbert will make Tennessee’s secondary one of the best in the league.

12. NY Giants – OT Taylor Lewan, Michigan

His recent assault charge will not have much effect on Lewan’s draft stock. Giants will do the smart thing here and take an player who can anchor their offensive line for years to come.

13. St. Louis – S Haha Clinton-Dix, Alabama

After addressing the offensive line with their first pick, St. Louis will look to address their defense now. Clinton-Dix has the size, speed, and tackling ability that Jeff Fisher will love. NFC West arguably now has the best defenses of all-time.

14. Chicago – OLB Anthony Barr, UCLA

If Barr falls to Chicago there is no question he will be drafted. Great rush linebacker who might transition to defensive end, Barr and Jared Allen will help the Bears get a pass rush that is one of the most impressive in the NFL.

15. Pittsburgh – CB Kyle Fuller, Virginia Tech

A very aggressive and sticky corner, Fuller will help Pittsburgh’s secondary very much. Fuller has tendencies of getting burned by quicker receivers because of his aggressive play-style but he is exactly the type of player Pittsburgh fans will love. Very high ceiling for Fuller if he can play with his head more.

16. Dallas – DE Kony Ealy, Missouri

A very athletic defensive end with a high motor, Ealy has the ability to rush the passer and also is very skilled at bat .After losing DeMarcus Ware, Jerry Jones will look for a replacement that will be able to deliver the same type of play that Ware gave for years.

17. Baltimore – OT Zack Martin, Notre Dame

An athletic player, Martin is a terrific run blocker and a player that Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce would love for his ability to throw defenders around in the second level.

18. NY Jets – CB Darqueze Dennard, Michigan State

Jets go with back-to-back corner picks in the first round two years in a row. With Cromartie now gone, Dennard makes perfect sense. A speedy corner with great skills in man coverage, Dennard is very physical and has great ball skills.

19. Miami – OG Xavier Su’a Filo, Notre Dame

Phenomenal upper body strength, Su’a Filo is the top guard in the draft and the top need for Miami after losing two starters from their offensive line last season.

20. Arizona – QB Blake Bortles, Central Florida

Arizona needs to move on from Palmer eventually. Bortles is a very raw player but has the skills to be an elite player. With Palmer mentoring him for a few years, Bortles can be great.

21. Green Bay – S Calvin Pryor, Louisville

A hard-hitting safety that can play anywhere in the secondary is exactly what the Packers need. Not only can he hit, Pryor is great in coverage and can make tackles behind the line of scrimmage look easy.

22. Philadelphia – DE Dee Ford, Auburn

Eagles are in much need of a pass rusher. With Ford still on the board at 22 and Pryor and Clinton-Dix gone, this pick makes perfect sense. Philly will need to find a replacement for Trent Cole eventually.

23. Kansas City – WR Odell Beckham Jr., LSU

One thing that held KC back last season was their inability to move the ball through the air. ODB has a great ability to run routes and catch the ball. Will help the Chiefs get ready for a deep playoff run.

24. Cincinnati – CB Jason Verrett, TCU

If Jason Verrett was 2 inches taller he would be a top 10 pick. Verrett is a lockdown corner that has great ball skills. Only problem with Verrett is that he tends to get bullied by bigger receivers.

25. San Diego – CB Bradley Roby, Ohio State

San Diego needs a lot of help in their secondary and a complete player like Roby will be a nice addition.

26. Cleveland – QB Teddy Bridgewater, Lousiville

It is very possible that Bridgewater or Bortles will fall this far or farther in the draft. Bridgewater played in a pro-style offense in college. Although Bridgewater doesn’t have the strongest arm, he makes up for it with his unbelievable anticipation. Bridgewater has become very underrated by many.

27. New Orleans – LB C.J. Mosley, Alabama

After having the worst defense in NFL history two season ago, Rob Ryan helped turn the Saints’ defense into a hard-hitting, run stopping group. One hole on that defense would have to be linebacker coming into this season. Mosley is a great tackler and can help bring some more leadership to that defense.

28. Carolina – OT Cyrus Kouandijo, Alabama

After losing their longtime left tackle this offseason, Carolina’s new top need is offensive line. Although they are also in a lot of trouble in the receiver department, Carolina needs to draft a tackle here.

29. New England – WR Marquise Lee, USC

If the Belichick/Brady tandem are to make a few more Super Bowl runs, they need to help get their quarterback a few weapons. Lee is not only elusive and fast, he also is a terrific route runner, which is necessary in the Patriots’ offensive scheme.

30. San Francisco – DT Ra’Shede Hageman, Minnesota

After signing Brandon Lloyd in free agency San Francisco will look to add some depth to their defensive line.

31. Denver – LB Ryan Shazier, Wisconsin

Denver has added a lot of pieces through free agency but they are still in need of a linebacker. Shazier is a great prospect who can start from day 1.

32. Seattle – WR Allen Robinson, Penn State

Seattle will look to add some star power on offense and Allen Robinson is exactly what they need. A player who seems to always be getting the ball and has the ability to make the defender miss better than most players in this draft.

Draft experts Mel Kiper and Todd McShay unveiled a new joint mock today on ESPN. The mock, aided by a touchscreen, was dubbed their “A+” mock draft. I’m not exactly sure what that means as Kiper’s mocks are historically inaccurate… but with that said let’s look into these picks.

Their picks in bold, my thoughts below:

1. Texans- Jadeveon Clowney
No problems with this pick. The unanimous number one pick on the board. The only question is if the Texans trade down for a quarterback or stay put.

2. Rams- Greg Robinson
No problem with this selection. Robinson has all of the physical tools. He jumped off the screen at the combine with his blend of speed and strength for a big man.

3. Jaguars- Khalil Mack
Todd kept citing something called a “leo” LB being the reason Mack is the selection here. The Jaguars problem is offense. For goodness sakes, you don’t even have Maurice Jones Drew anymore. Mack is great but he doesn’t outweigh the need of a play maker.

4. Browns- Sammy Watkins
Josh Gordon led the league in receiving yards last year with Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden throwing him the ball. Again, I know Watkins is the second best player in the draft, but this team has the play maker. They need the franchise quarterback. They’ve missed on a long list of quarterbacks in the late first and mid rounds. It’s time they man up and take a blue chip prospect under center.

5. Raiders- Jake Matthews
No problems with this selection. The Raiders need help on the defensive line as well, but Matthews is too good to pass up at this point.

Latest 2014 NFL Mock Draft Picks: Rounds 1 & 2

1. Texans: Jadeveon Clowney DE South Carolina

If the Texans took Clowney they would have the best D-line in the league. JJ Watt wasn’t as productive as last year because he was doubled every play. With Clowney you could not double Watt which would make this duo the most feared in the league. Jadeveon is also a once in a life time talent! He ran a record breaking 4.53 40 yard dash. Texans might also pick QB Teddy Bridgewater from Louisville or trade out of the top 5.

2. Rams: Khalil Mack OLB Buffalo

The Rams need an upgrade at the OT position and WR. Two of St. Louis’s OLBs are also free agents, one of them is their starter. Even though Mack didn’t play D1 college football he has every right to be taken in the top 3. Khalil can line up on the line and on the perimeter. He is also a freak of nature and his best aspect is in the passing game. Mack ran a great 40 time of 4.65 seconds It is very likely the Rams will trade this pick.

3. Jaguars: Teddy Bridgewater QB Louisville

Blaine Gabbert got traded and Chad Henne is not the long term solution at the QB. The Jaguars are tired of being a loser team in the NFL. Teddy is the most ready QB in this draft, he is the guy that has the best chance to win right away in the NFL. Bridgewater has outstanding mental makeup and accuracy, and has good throwing power and pocket mobility.

4. Browns: Sammy Watkins WR Clemson

The Browns are going to take either a QB or a WR. I think it is a risk to take Johnny Football in the top 10 and I’m not sure if Blake Bortles is the real deal. Besides Josh Gordon, Cleveland has some serious wide receiver trouble as their other receiver continue to struggle. Watkins is the real deal, him and Josh Gordon would make a great duo for their future QB.

5. Raiders: Mike Evans WR Texas AM

This is going to be a tough pick for the Oakland Raiders. With them acquiring Matt Schaub and having Terrelle Pryor and Matt McGloin I don’t think they should take a QB. The best WR is gone in Sammy Watkins, and the once in a generation player, Jadeveon Clowney, has also been drafted. With the talent remaining they should address the wide out position though. Evans is a tall receiver and is a red zone threat. I think he would fill in nicely as a No. 1 recover for Oakland but this is a little high to draft him in my opinion. I think trading back in the draft is a legit option for the Raiders.

6. Falcons: Greg Robinson OT Auburn

The two main needs for the Falcons are OT and a dominant pass rusher. With Jadeveon Clowney going #1 and they should go with Greg Robinson. Robinson has very quick feet which allows him to be a productive blocker in open space. He delivers a solid first hit off the ball which gives him a advantage. He ran a 4.92 in the 40 and did 32 reps in the 225 pound bench press.

7. Buccaneers: Jake Matthews OT Texas AM

Like the Atlanta, Tampa Bay is desperate for a pass rusher. With Clowney and Mack already been drafted, Jake Matthews is a safer pick then taking Anthony Barr or C.J. Mosley. Jake has experience playing both tackle positions and is best in the pass game. He is a solid run blocker which will be good with their rising RB, Doug Martin.

8. Vikings: Blake Bortles QB Central Florida

The Vikings have been searching desperately for a franchise QB. Bortles has good size and above average throwing abilities and mobility. There are no negativities in his game. He had a great pro day (which doesn’t mean al lot) but QB expert, “Jaws”, said he is the BEST QB in this draft. I would compare him to Joe Flacco. He will start right away for the Vikings but it will be a couple year I think before the Vikings are back in the playoffs.

9. Bills: Taylor Lewan OT Michigan

With all the injuries to EJ Manuel this year, you have to think protecting him will be their top priority. The Bills O-line stunk blocking for their star RB, CJ Spiller. Lewan has great lower body strength which is great for the running game. He is also effective in the pass game.

10. Lions: Justin Gilbert CB Oklahoma State

I think Detroit’s first choices in this draft are either WR Sammy Watkins or Mike Evans. With both of them gone they should go in the direction of drafting a position is which they really need. Justin Gilbert can play all type of coverages and is a ball hawk. He also has good size and speed.

11. Titans: Darqueze Dennard CB Michigan State

The Titans main need to replace Pro Bowl CB, Alterraun Verner. Dennard has the size to cover big receivers, the speed to cover any receiver, and he can return the football. He will be a nice replacement.

12. Giants: Aaron Donald DT Pittsburgh

The Giants have had a tough off-season on their D-line. They have lost Justin Tuck and Linval Joseph. New York needs to take the best pass rusher available and in this scenario it is Aaron Donald.

13. Rams: Zack Martin OG Notre Dame

With this pick the Rams will either take an offensive lineman or a WR since they took a defensive player with their 2nd overall pick. With their starting tackle and guard becoming a free agent this of season they need another lineman. Another WR is a want. Zack Martin is the most versatile lineman in this draft and I believe can play all five positions on the offensive line.

14. Bears: HaHa Clinton-Dix S Alabama

A focal point for the Bears this offseason is to upgrade at the safety. It would be more worth it to draft Clinton-Dix than pay the big bucks to get a top safety like Jairus Byrd. Haha hits like a linebacker and is above average in the coverage game.

15. Steelers: Brandin Cooks WR Oregon State

The Steelers have plenty of needs they to address, one includes WR. I think Brandin Cooks is the third best recover but Marqise Lee and Odell Beckham jr. are close behind. Cooks also has great ball skills and is a excellent route runner.

16. Ravens: Marqise Lee WR USC

When the Ravens traded Anquan Boldin last year they have majorly struggled in the pass game. Marlon Brown nor Jacoby Jones should be playing the No. 2 receiver as they were forced to this season. Marqise catches most of his passes short which allows him to create big plays after the catch with his great speed.

17. Cowboys: Anthony Barr OLB UCLA

This could be a potential steal for the Cowboys. Their star DE Demarcus Ware got cut because of his huge salary cap hit and they were all ready desperate for more pass rushers. Barr specializes in his pass rushing abilities and can make an early impact in the NFL.

18. Jets: Eric Ebron TE North Carolina

With the Jets signing WR Eric Decker it doesn’t fix their WR need, it just helps it. It still allows the Jets to draft another pass catching position, in this case it is the TE. Ebron gives you great size, speed, and catching ability. He is like no other player in this draft.

19. Dolphins: Timmy Jernigan DT Florida State

Both of the Dolphins starting DTs are free agents this offseason. It is unlikely they will be able to resign both of them. Jernigan is overall the best DT in this draft but is not the best in any category. I think Jernigan has a bright future in the NFL.

20. Cardinals: Johnny Manziel QB Texas AM

This may come as a surprise pick but it makes sense if you think about it. Carson Palmer has three years left in the tank at the most and the Cards might want to get rid of him before that anyway. To me Manziel is not ready to be a starter in the NFL like all rookie QBs. Sitting a couple years learning the game will be great for his development. I think in Johnny’s third year he could be a legit QB for Arizona. He can make all the throws in the game, can scramble like Vick, creates a spark on offense, and he has shown he is teachable.

21. Packers: Calvin Pryor S Louisville

The Packers could use an upgrade at the safety position and with Pryor on the board they shouldn’t hesitate to take him. He specializes in the run game and has excellent instincts.

22. Eagles: C.J. Mosley OLB Alabama

The No. 1 need for the Eagles this offseason is LB. Mosley is primarily a middle backer but can pay outside. C.J. is the best coverage line backer in this draft and he is very productive.

23. Chiefs: Morgan Moses OT Virginia

It seems like the Chiefs lost all of their O-lineman in free agency. Morgan Moses is a better choice for them than a WR. Moses had great production and college but he is average as an overall blocker.

24. Bengals: Kony Ealy DE Missouri

The Bengals need to replace DE of Michael Johnson. I know Jernigan is a tackle but I think his pass rushing skills would fill the pass rushing need. Ealy has a great step off the ball and is best defending against the run. He would fill right in.

25. Chargers: Jason Verrett CB TCU

The Charges have one of the worst secondaries in the league. They should draft the best CB on the board. Verett is a big hitter but he lacks size, he really stands out in the pass game.

26. Browns: Xavier Sua-Filo OG UCLA

The Browns passed on a QB with their first pick and their plan back fired, Johnny Football was selected. Their next need is OG. Xavier is a good run and pass blocker which most lineman can’t say in this draft.

27. Saints: Odell Beckham Jr WR LSU

The only recover Drew Brees has to throw to is Jimmy Graham. Beckham will probably go in and be the No. 1 receiver. He has great range in his pass catching ability and has a sky high potential.

28. Panthers: Kelvin Benjamin WR Florida State

The Panthers have no WRs that deserve the chance to start. Benjamin is a vertical threat who has the potential to be a No. 1 receiver. He could also be a bust.

29. Patriots: Kyle Fuller CB Virginia Tech

The Patriots lost Aqib Talib but signed Darrell Revis. That relationship will probably last one year. They need a CB! The only intangible he doesn’t have is speed.

30. 49ers: Louis Nix III NT Notre Dame

The 49ers star DE Justin Smith can’t play forever. Louis Nix is a steal at this point in the draft. He has great mobility for a guy who weighs 345 pounds!

31. Broncos: Bradley Roby CB Ohio State

The Broncos two starting CBs, Champ Bailey and Aqib Talib, are veterans in the NFL. They are both in the latter part in their career and this might be Champ’s last season. Denver also needs more depth in the CB position anyway. Roby is a lockdown corner and is solid in the open field.

32. Seahawks: Jace Amaro TE Texas Tech

Russell Wilson doesn’t have any exceptional receivers, so what’s better than a big tight end? Jace was very productive in college and has relatively good hands.

Round 2

1. Texans: Derek Carr QB Fresno State

2. Redskins: Ra’Shede Hageman DT Minnesota

3. Browns: A.J. McCarron QB Alabama

4. Raiders: Jimmie Ward S NIU

5. Falcons: Stephon Tuitt DT Notre Dame

6. Buccaneers: Austin Seferian-Jenkins TE Washington

7. Jaguars: Carlos Hyde RB Ohio State

8. Vikings: Dee Ford DE Auburn

9. Bills: Ryan Shazier OLB Ohio State

10. Titans: Jeremy Hill RB LSU

11. Giants: Lamarcus Joyner S Florida State

12. Rams: Davante Adams WR Fresno State

13. Lions: Cyrus Kouandjio OT Alabama

14. Steelers: Deone Bucannon S Washington

15. Cowboys: Demarcus Lawrence DE Boise State

16. Ravens: Bishop Sankey RB Washington

17. Jets: Jarvis Landry WR LSU

18. Dolphins: Gabe Jackson OG Mississippi State

19. Bears: Daquan Jones DT Penn State

20. Cardinals: Joel Bitonio OT Nevada

21. Packers: Troy Niklas TE Notre Dame

22. Eagles: Stanley Jean-Baptiste CB Nebraska

23. Bengals: Jeremiah Attaochu OLB Georgia Tech

24. 49ers: Loucheiz Purifoy CB Florida

25. Chargers: Jordan Matthews WR Vanderbilt

26. Saints: Bashaud Breeland CB Clemson

27. Colts: David Yankey OG Stanford

28. Panthers: Bruce Ellington WR South Carolina

29. 49ers: Marcus Martin C USC

30. Patriots: Russell Bodine C North Carolina

31. Broncos: Tre Mason RB Auburn

32. Seahawks: Marcus Roberson CB Florida
