Not Drafting a QB? Nick Foles Leads Eagles to First Win in MONTHS

The last time the Eagles won a game was in September 2012. It is almost 2013… so the struggle has been pretty real in Philly for a while now. Michael Vick accounted for over 12 turnovers on his own and got benched for the rookie Nick Foles.

Foles looked shaky in his first two games but may be finding his groove. He threw three touchdowns including the game winner to Jeremy Maclin.

The third-round rookie, put in as starter for the rest of the 2012 season as the franchise re-assesses its options from top to bottom, put together quite a performance in Philly’s 23-21 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Per ESPN’s Stats & Info, Foles became the third rookie in NFL history to throw for more than 350 yards, throw for at least two touchdowns, and give up no interceptions.

The other two rookies were Billy Joe Tolliver and Andrew Luck, so you just never know where Foles might go from here. No matter what, 32 completions in 51 attempts for 381 yards, two touchdowns, and no picks is a pretty neat stat line.

Should the Eagles still draft a QB? Foles has to show he can be consistent during these last few games. But then again if Andy Reid is fired a new coach will be in town and Foles may not be the quarterback he wants…
