Giants Confident Rueben Randle Can Fill Hakeem Nick’s Shoes

A few days ago, Hakeem Nicks went down with an injury (broken foot) that will keep him out of the Giants plans for the immediate future. Rather than panic and sign a free agent the Giants are going to rely on second round pick Rueben Randle from LSU to fill the void. They felt he was the most pro ready WR going into the draft, and now its Rueben’s chance to prove that feeling was correct:

With Nicks sidelined deep into August, Randle figures to open Giants training camp as a starter and receive first-team practice reps all the way through. The Giants need to be preparing Randle to begin the season as a starter, in the event of a Nicks setback.

At the very least, Randle is expected to be New York’s third receiver during the NFL opener against Dallas.
