#Suck4Luck Update: Dolphins, Rams, Vikings, Colts all Winless

Currently the NFL is experiencing literally one of the greatest “arms races” in the history of the league… we like to call it Suck 4 Luck.  Whoever wins the least amount of games will get the services of Stanford QB Andrew Luck, a prospect that many have claimed as the second coming of Peyton Manning.

Currently Andrew Luck’s scouting rating per ESPN was a 99.  Not that I know what kind of credentials whoever created that system holds, nor that it matters.  We all know Luck has the potential to turn a franchise around in a hurry if he pans out.  This guy isn’t some Jamarcus Russell last minute #1 pick.  Literally he would have went #1 last year as well.

As I write this, there are four NFL teams all winless.  The Rams, Dolphins, Vikings, and Colts.  Two of such teams has their “QB of the future.”  But do you pass them to the side for luck? Let’s tackle this team by team.

  • Dolphins – If they get the #1 pick it will be Andrew Luck.  Chad Henne hasn’t proven to be a consistent starter.
  • Rams – Sam Bradford has shown flashes of brilliance on a a team with pretty much no receivers.  If they get the #1 pick they will trade out and select Justin Blackmon with the #2 overall selection.
  • Vikings – They just drafted Christian Ponder, a player who many pegged as a second rounder, in the first round of the draft.  He’s yet to take a snap away from Donovan McNabb.  If they go winless with McNabb/Ponder…. hello Mr. Luck!
  • Colts – Peyton Manning may or may not be back.  Either way he is in his mid 30’s with a major neck injury.  It is not out the question Peyton completely walks away.  Curtis Painter is not the future.  Bill Polian will tear and ACL to get to the phone and call in Andrew Luck as the #1 pick if they win the Suck 4 Luck sweeps.
