Fox Finally Gave In: Tebow Time In Denver

As many of you know, the Denver Broncos have had to deal with the “Tim Tebow thing” going on at quarterback. Kyle Orton, Brady Quinn, and Tim Tebow have been part of a QB situation ever since Tim Tebow was drafted in the first round on the NFL Draft.

Personally, I like the guy as a positive role model for children and all that. You’ll never see me judge his character. It’s not my place and frankly I don’t care. I just do not think that he is a NFL quality quarterback and the rational side of me cannot blindly ignore the huge flaws in his game because of the little while horse on the side of his helmet. That’s neither here nor there, as John Fox is the head coach and as of Sunday Tim Tebow is his starting quarterback.

Tebow played “ok” primarily impacting the game through running the ball in the redzone effectively. He is still a below average passer, completing only 4 of 10 pass attempts. To put it in perspective, the guy he was benched for completed 6 of 13. Tebow’s career completion percentage is hovering around 47%. Men lie, women lie, the numbers don’t.

As a fan I would like to see the Broncos clear house of all three quarterbacks and get someone who defenses actually have to respect but as long as Tebow is in there I will watch his game and judge it for what it is. It won’t be elite quarterbacking, and it frankly probably won’t be winning quarterbacking. The Broncos have lost every game Tebow has appeared in except for one.

The Broncos have lost every game but one Tebow has played Quarterback in.

I expect Fox and Elway to give Tebow the final 12 games of the season to prove if he’s going to develop enough to keep on the roster or not in 2013. Or maybe they are just auditioning him to trade to someone in the event the Broncos invest yet ANOTHER first round pick in a passer.

Time will tell all. See you same place next week for another episode of…
