Bengals Refuse to Trade Carson Palmer

“It doesn’t help the situation for me to speak anymore on it.”

Strong words uttered by head coach Marvin Lewis on ESPN in an impromptu interview.  Team Owner Mike Brown has made it clear that he will not trade Carson, as I predicted, and with that the cold war has started.  The Bengals are an organization notorious for winning standoffs with their disgruntled players and Carson is no different.  In 2011 he will wear the orange and black or he will file retirement papers, period.

Luckily for Cincinnati they earned the fourth pick in the 2011 NFL Draft and that will get them a quarterback if they’d like.  Even if Cam Newton and Blaine Gabbert go 1,2, or 3 there is always the opportunity to trade down and grab Jake Locker, Christian Ponder, or Ryan Mallet.
