Heisman Race is Down to Two

We started off with at least ten players who had a legitimate shot at taking home the 2011 Reggie Bush award: Cam Newton, LaMichael James, Terrelle Pryor, Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, Kellen Moore, Denard Robinson, Taylor Martinez, Demarco Murray, and Landry Jones.

As we enter the month of November there are only two names left on that list that can realistically take home the hardware.

Cam Newton is the NCAA’s reigning superman, dual-threat quarterback. This weekend against Ole Miss Netwon only got 45 yards rushing but went an impressive 18 for 24 passing for 205 yards and two touchdowns to boot.  He has been lighting it up and the Tigers are standing tall as the nation’s number two team.

But the nation’s number one team is the Oregon Ducks and they feature the flash known as LaMichael James.  All James did in a come from behind win versus USC was run for 239 yards and 3 touchdowns on 36 carries.  Incredible.

As this season winds down I can say that without a doubt, one of these two men will be handed the 2011 Reggie Bush award.. I mean the Heisman Trophy.
