The Raiders took a big risk last year, clearing the team of big names and big salaries and mortgaging the next decade of Raider football on how well Jon Gruden evaluates talent in the next two drafts. Well, we will have to wait and see how that pays off but what better place to gamble than in Vegas? The team is moving into a new stadium next season (if its gets finished in time) and the fans need something to root for.

What is there to say about the Raiders’ season that hasn’t been said? Jon Gruden came in and made the team into his image for better or worse. Gone is Khalil Mack, gone is Amari Cooper. In is… we’ll find out in 2019!

Draft expert Cowboysfan1993 is back with his picks and this time it’s for the silver and black!

Check out the 2019 Raiders mock below:

1. Raiders: Nick Bosa DE Ohio State

Round 1 Original Pick The Raiders are projected to be picking at pick 2 as of right now, but if they get that pick or the next and Bosa is still available it’s a no brainer. Nick is a more natural athlete and pass rusher than his brother. He’s strong, well built, and naturally quick. Sure the injuries could hurt him a bit, but I don’t put too much stock into that. Don’t make this hard Raiders, and just draft this guy and replace Mack.

2. Raiders: Devin White ILB LSU

Round 1 (Dallas Cowboys) Dallas is projected at the 10th slot, and I would have liked to mock Deionte Thompson here, but he was gone to the Bucs, so they take Devin White. Josh Allen was here, and I do think he is a better player, but I doubt Oakland double dips into pass rushers back to back. White is a great athlete compareable to Roquon Smith. He has ability to cover, and knows how to get through traffic in the run game. His size could deter some teams, but again don’t make this hard, just find football players and call it a day. Too many times players were knocked for athletic profiles. Desmond King 2 years ago was slow and short, and is now one of the better slot CB there is.

3. Raiders: Jeffery Simmons DT Mississippi St

Round 1 (Chicago Bears) Bears are picking around the 20s here. They could go OT, but none left would be compareable to Simmons who compares favorably to Fletcher Cox. He’s a big dude, who will wreak havoc in the run game. He’s got some pass rush ability, but it’s not what he’s best at. Sure the off the field issue could cause him to drop, I think he’ll be okay.

4. Raiders: Amani Oruwariye CB Penn State

Round 2 Amani is a big CB at about 6’1″ and 205 lbs. Great size and weight for the position, is pretty physical in press, and is a good leader. This is only his first year starting despite being a senior, and his speed is going to be a question mark. But Oakland should be fully committed to improving their defense in a loaded defensive class.

5. Raiders: Yodny Cajuste OT WVU

Round 3 Donald Penn is getting really old, and the O line has been getting worse, so adding Cajuste is a big plus this late. I really like this guy due to him being a very good pass blocker and average run blocker. Originally I had a 2nd round late first round grade on him, but the more I watched the more I saw inconsistency, there are times where his technique is perfect, but then other times where you wonder if it’s the same player or not. He’s got to be better, but this is a good choice in the third round.

6. Raiders: Parris Campbell WR Ohio State

Round 4 Another inconsistent player, but has really good speed. His hands are okay, not great, but Raiders have always liked athletes, and he provides a deep threat for a team’s QB.

7. Raiders: Hunter Renfrow WR Clemson

Round 5 Renfrow is a nice slot WR, providing a reliable prescenece in the underneath game.
