In a recent development, the Indianapolis Colts have reportedly turned down a trade proposal from the Miami Dolphins involving running back Jonathan Taylor. This update comes courtesy of a report by @flasportsbuzz.

While the initial offer was rejected, discussions between the two teams are still very much alive, with ongoing negotiations to potentially reshape the deal. Notably, it has emerged that another NFL team has entered the fray with what is being described as a “serious offer” for the talented running back.

As of Thursday morning, however, no team has managed to align with the Colts’ demands, which appear to revolve around a coveted 1st-round pick or an equivalent asset in terms of value. This underscores the Colts’ valuation of Taylor as a player of high worth within the league.

Jonathan Taylor’s prowess on the field is undeniable. The young running back has exhibited exceptional skills and versatility, making him a desirable asset for various teams seeking to bolster their offensive line-up. Given his performance, it’s hardly surprising that multiple teams are vying for the opportunity to secure his talents.

While the specifics of the trade offers remain undisclosed, it’s clear that Taylor’s potential departure from the Colts has stirred significant interest around the league. As negotiations unfold, football enthusiasts and experts alike will undoubtedly keep a close eye on how the situation evolves.

In conclusion, the Indianapolis Colts have declined an initial trade proposal from the Miami Dolphins involving running back Jonathan Taylor. Negotiations are ongoing as both sides seek common ground, with another NFL team also throwing their hat into the ring with a substantial offer. Despite the interest and efforts, no deal has yet met the Colts’ apparent asking price of a 1st-round pick or a comparable asset. As the NFL community awaits further developments, the fate of Jonathan Taylor hangs in the balance, and the league holds its breath for the next move in this intriguing trade saga.

In the midst of the Ben Simmons for James Harden trade there has been a lot of speculation hitting the net right now. Will Kyrie take the jab? Will James Harden get in shape? Will Harden like the Philly night clubs?!!

All of that is fun to see how it plays out but there is a deeper issue at hand. BOTH PLAYERS numbers are retired by their new franchise.

James Harden’s #13 is retired on the 76ers.

Ben Simmons’ #25 is retired on the Nets.

It is time. The NBA needs to be the first league to implement this. Ban retiring numbers. This is out of hand. Create a patch that honors the legendary players but put the damn number back in circulation. As a fan I’m tired of seeing players in numbers I know they’d rather not wear. It’s just a bad business practice to take product off the shelf.

Don’t get me started on how bad the NFL is with their new single digit number rules. Just un-retire the numbers and enforce the uniform code. I don’t know about you but I’m already tired of seeing defensive players running around in #3 and #1.

That’s just my thoughts on this. Basketball wise the Nets fleeced the Sixers because they got two first round picks on top of Seth Curry and Andre Drummond being added to the pot. Ultimately Brooklyn knew that Daryl Morey loved James Harden too much and the party that can’t walk away will lose the trade every time. But that’s just the trade on paper. We still have to see how it all plays out.

Until then, let the guys wear their darn jersey numbers. Please!

The draft is quickly approaching. We are all getting antsy over here, as is everyone all over the league.

The Rams jumped up to #1 by trading five draft picks to the Titans. Any day now we should hear them starting negotiations with Carson Wentz or Jared Goff.

But what about the rest of the league? Who else is going to make a trade in the 2016 NFL Draft?

In danjr’s latest Big Trade Schedule Release Mock he dropped five possible scenarios for us.

Click the pages below to see the shocking trades:

1. Eagles Grab the Wentz:

Eagles trade picks 8, 77(3rd rd) 2017 3rd rd pick and Fletcher Cox to the Browns for pick #1. The Eagles like Wentz and the Browns are all about analytics & sabermertrics these days. Hue Jackson loves RG3 and they get to add Cox who can play next to 2nd year 1st rd pick Danny Shelton to strengthen a very poor DL. The Eagles get Wentz who they can groom behind Bradford(if he doesnt get trade) or Chase Daniels. The Eagles couldn’t work out a contract with Cox but the Browns have plenty of money and can pay.

The St. Louis Rams are in a peculiar position. With the number two overall pick and incumbent quarterback Sam Bradford needing competition behind him at worst, this team must decide whether or not to use the #2 overall pick on a quarterback of the future. There is a good chance every quarterback in the draft will be available so they can easily take this route if needed.

However if the player the Rams want is unsuspectedly taken at #1 overall (teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles, Johnny Manziel, Greg Robinson, or Sammy Watkins) then it gets real.

In a scenario with the “best” player in the draft Jadeveon Clowney still on the board, the Rams could set to once again trade out and get a large sum of picks in return.

Rams general manager Les Snead said at this point the calls for the No. 2 pick have been “flirtatious” and nothing will be serious until it becomes clearer what direction the Houston Texans will take with the No. 1 overall pick.

Chris Long and Robert Quinn are already holding down the DE spot. Clowney would be a luxury for a NON PLAYOFF TEAM. AKA, a pick that won’t make them marginally better because they already have talent at his position.

In my scenario the best thing the Rams could hope for is trade down to three or four and take Clemson’s Sammy Watkins instead.

The hype machine is in full force and it is looking like Ryan Tannehill will be the #3 or #4 pick in this draft.

Should he be? Of course not. With the combination of the new value top 5 picks have (thanks to Washington) and the fact that he’s the last highly rated QB that is on the market the value of that #3 and #4 pick has sky rocketed. Someone between Miami, Philly, and Cleveland, is going to make the bold move for the former Texas A&M QB:

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Rams at No. 6 and the Eagles at No. 15 are believed to be interested in moving up

…Philadelphia and Cleveland have “spoken several times,” but that could have just as much to do with Browns G.M. Tom Heckert and Eagles coach Andy Reid’s longstanding relationship as it may with Philly’s intentions to make a costly draft-day maneuver.

The Lions are actively shopping the second overall pick in April’s draft, according to a league source, and would be very comfortable trading down, looking to stockpile three or four assets.

The Lions already have been in discussions with other teams about the prospect, according to the source, and have ample time to make such a move before the draft begins April 22.

Given the uncertain labor and economic climate in the NFL, finding a trading partner might not be easy. However, the possibility remains that a team might want to move into the top two to ensure it lands one of two dominant defensive tackles — Nebraska’s Ndamukong Suh and Oklahoma’s Gerald McCoy — who many experts rate as by far the best prospects.

The Lions are trying to rebuild a long-suffering defense in particular, after sinking considerable high picks and resources into offensive skill players in recent years. They aren’t averse to taking the top player on their board, according to the source, but will seek to explore all options for a trade.

The Rams, who hold the No. 1 overall pick, have denied a report that they were in discussions with the Buccaneers to deal that selection, but there will be lots of jockeying and machinations taking place between now and late April.

Getting a malcontent off your roster is always a good thing, but when you get PAID in the process it becomes a great thing.

For one, Jay Cutler is a good quarterback. I’ll give him that. But a great quarterback? Not so fast my friend. His 3,000 passing yards were inflated by Mike Shanahan’s fake spread offense, and throwing to Brandon Marshall & Eddie Royal makes life easier. Combine that with Jay’s inability to take blame after critical mistakes and you start piecing together a recipe for disaster.

On the Broncos side, they will be much better off without Jay Cutler. He and Bus Cook will not be missed in Dove Valley. Also look at the fact that he was traded for not one, not two, but three players! Including a starting quarterback in return. Kyle Orton does not pass the eye test but he does the one thing Jay Cutler could never do. Win football games. The two first round players the Broncos will be able to draft will make the team much better in the long run as well. And if just one of the three players Cutler was traded for becomes a Pro Bowler this trade becomes down right criminal.

The Bears get a great arm. I won’t deny that. Jay Cutler’s game as a QB has little to no flaws other than his Plummer-like decision making. The only thing that will hold him back is his weak mental fortitude. The Bears are already Christening him as the franchise’s savior, yet they have a very old defense and no legit players on offense other than Matt Forte to pair with Cutler. Cutler has never posted a winning record in his career. How will all the losing and all the pressure effect him? If it’s anything like his era as a Bronco look for drama to ensue once Cutler starts becoming accountable for the teams lack of success, deservingly or not.

The Redskins have offered two teams trade offers to acquire top flight wide receivers in the last 24 hours. First they tried to get Ocho to no avail, so they did the next best thing and knocked on the Cardinals door about Anquan Boldin. Another no.

In this age of draft espionage can we believe that the Redskins are this desperate or are they trying to trick teams they are drafting a receiver high? I think it may be a mix of both ultimately with the Skins landing a receiver sometime on day one.
