Moore, who transferred to Oregon after a brief stint at UCLA, has quickly emerged as one of the most polished young quarterbacks in the nation. McShay praised his smooth mechanics, advanced accuracy, and ability to manipulate defenses—traits that stand out even in a stacked 2026 QB class.

The declaration comes as Oregon prepares for a marquee matchup against Penn State, led by fellow top quarterback prospect Drew Allar. McShay has already made clear where he stands, writing in The McShay Report that Moore’s poise and passing consistency put him ahead of Allar heading into the season.

With scouts already circling and expectations rising, Moore will have every opportunity to solidify himself as QB1 on draft boards. If he delivers on McShay’s lofty projection, Oregon could be sending one of the most highly touted passers of the decade into the NFL.

We’ve been doing this long enough to know that every year McShay attaches himself to a quarterback who ends up being less than advertised.

McShay was a huge supporter of Jevan Snead and that ended up being a disaster for all parties included.

Now he is slamming Deshaun Watson in favor of UNC’s Mitch Trubisky:

To quote a NFL insider on McShay:

Todd McShay, is considered “a joke” in the league: “McShay does not have any good connections. Higher-ups in the league think he is an arrogant [expletive]. A know-it-all. And he really knows nothing. Whatever he says about a quarterback, take it to the bank, it will be the opposite.” Exhibit A is former Kentucky quarterback Andre Woodson, a McShay favorite who went in the sixth round in 2008 and is now out of the league. This year’s Woodson, according to PFT’s scout: Ole Miss quarterback Jevan Snead,

Now before we get to the picks below as usual I will be adding a comment under his selections in italics.

Todd’s picks below:

1. Titans: Joey Bosa
The Titans will not and I repeat will not keep this pick, but if they do it will be Tunsil and not Bosa. Bosa may be the most talented but Tunsil is a 1B to his 1A and makes more sense for a team that is invested so heavily in rebuilding the offense.

2. Browns: Paxton Lynch
Johnny Manziel will be gone. McCown is going to retire. I like it.

3. Chargers: Robert Nkemdiche
Versatile defensive lineman. They just need to keep him away from that “sticky icky ooh wee!”

4. Ravens: Jalen Ramsey
Is this as a corner or as a safety? I like him better as a safety it would be a mistake to draft him as a CB which is where Baltimore would use him in this scenario.

5. 49ers: Jared Goff
Kaep done?

6. Cowboys: Jaylon Smith
I like it.

7. Lions: Laremy Tunsil
I think this will be a QB. The Lions will be rebuilding completely from the ground up. Connor Cook will garner heavy consideration in Michigan as well.

8. Dolphins: Ronnie Stanley
No problems with this pick.

9. Jaguars: Vernon Hargreaves III
Solid pick.

10. Rams: Laquon Treadwell
With Bailey’s incident, I can see them moving on as well.

Their picks in bold, my thoughts below:

1. Texans- Jadeveon Clowney
No problems with this pick. The unanimous number one pick on the board. The only question is if the Texans trade down for a quarterback or stay put.

2. Rams- Greg Robinson
No problem with this selection. Robinson has all of the physical tools. He jumped off the screen at the combine with his blend of speed and strength for a big man.

3. Jaguars- Khalil Mack
Todd kept citing something called a “leo” LB being the reason Mack is the selection here. The Jaguars problem is offense. For goodness sakes, you don’t even have Maurice Jones Drew anymore. Mack is great but he doesn’t outweigh the need of a play maker.

4. Browns- Sammy Watkins
Josh Gordon led the league in receiving yards last year with Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden throwing him the ball. Again, I know Watkins is the second best player in the draft, but this team has the play maker. They need the franchise quarterback. They’ve missed on a long list of quarterbacks in the late first and mid rounds. It’s time they man up and take a blue chip prospect under center.

5. Raiders- Jake Matthews
No problems with this selection. The Raiders need help on the defensive line as well, but Matthews is too good to pass up at this point.

With that said, it is time for an update to everyone’s mock draft! McShay has Manziel currently going #4 overall.

Here is his top 5 with my comments below each selection:

1. Texans- Teddy Bridgewater QB Louisville
Not a fan of this selection, Bud Adams seems to want a quick turnaround. Something tells me this pick is Clowney or Barr.

2. Rams- Jake Matthews OT Texas A&M
Not a bad pick. I’m sure they will trade down.

3. Jaguars- Blake Bortles QB Central Florida
Not sure about this pick either, is there a QB worth a top 5 in this draft? Jaguars would undoubtedly pick Clowney in his scenario.

4. Browns- Johnny Manziel QB Texas A&M
The Browns have no luxury of sitting out of the quarterback race. Manziel or Bortles if they’re there.

5. Raiders- Jadeveon Clowney DE South Carolina
Again, a team that needs a quarterback badly. Do they reach for a Brett Hundley or Derek Carr if it pans out like this?

1. Chiefts- Star Lotuleli DT Utah
Todd says that if the heart checks out, then everything’s a go with Star #1. He doesn’t think the the Chiefs necessarily won’t take Joeckel though.

2. Jaguars- Luke Joeckel OT Texas A&M
Not too sure about this selection. How does this pick fix the Jaguars defense? I guess it’s a BPA pick?

3. Raiders- Shariff Floyd DT UF
If Star goes #1, then I could see Floyd #3. I don’t have a problem with this pick.

4. Eagles- Dee Milliner CB Bama
No problem with this pick either. Some weirdos are mocking Milliner #1 overall. Let me say this to those guys: if the guy isn’t Champ Bailey or Charles Woodson version 2.0, then no way a CB ever goes #1 again (last happened in the 1950’s for the historians)

5. Lions- Zeek Ansah DE BYU
Fast riser up the boards but only had a handful of sacks last year. I’m not worried about that since some people have him a top 3 rated player, though I don’t. Lions need a pass rusher so it makes sense… but this is the part of Todd’s mock I start to say to myself “WHERE IS JARVIS JONES?”

6. Browns- Dion Jordan DE Oregon
Once again a team that needs a pass rusher so it makes sense, but where is Jarvis? I’m pretty sure his neck checked out as he interviewed with every team at the combine about it… oh yeah this is March… let us continue…

7. Cardinals- Geno Smith QB WVU
Todd says that Geno is more of a pick in the 20’s but will go top 10. Pretty much the sentiment here. Geno will go 3-10. Just depends on who wants him.

8. Bills- Eric Fisher OT Central Michigan
Don’t get the pick at all. The Bills still need a starting QB, WR, and a legitimate pass rusher. Yes Fisher will be a Pro Bowl OT but does that matter if he’s protecting a QB that can’t get the job done. Maybe Todd is predicting that the Bills trade up for a QB later as I projected.

9. Jets- Barkevious Mingo OLB
No question the Jets could use a Mingo.

10. Titans- Jonathan Cooper OG UNC
Why not Chance Warmack? Is this a case of over scouting? Chance Warmack is rated higher yet the expert has Cooper going ahead of him? I’d like to read the explanation for this.

All in all a decent draft, though it leaves out Jarvis Jones and Chance Warmack. If you need the full version you probably know where to find it better than I do! Legally I’ll direct your pursuits to ESPN.com.

Tavon Austin

“WVU WR/RS Tavon Austin might be the quickest human being I’ve ever studied on tape… Sent from my iPad” -Todd McShay.

McShay’s colleague at Scouts Inc. Kevin Weidl responded to the tweet with “not getting out of the first round.” Austin is mustering up comparisons of both Percy Harvin and Desean Jackson for his ability to effect the game both on offense and special teams.

I have a feeling that Austin will be turning heads during the combine and will help his stock immensely. He’s currently looked at as a late first round to early second round pick. If he does perform well at the combine I could see him sneaking into the top-15.

He’ll never be your prototypical number one outside receivers, but as a play maker and possession receiver, plus a creative offensive coordinator, Austin will be electric. He still needs to show he can perform against bigger defensive backs, struggling against Texas safety Kenny Vaccaro.

I think Tavon Austin would be a nice fit in either San Francisco at 31 or New England at 29.

The thing with McShay’s mock is that he tends to fall in love with certain players and is a little more flexible than Mel Kiper on his picks. Mel usually has a few shocker picks, and this year has Manti Te’o going #1 overall. Kiper has a defender as well going #1 but it is not Mr. Te’o.

Would the Chiefs really spend ANOTHER premium pick on a defensive tackle? They’ve been doing it for a half a decade and it hasn’t gotten them anywhere….

Could happen, but I think Jarvis Jones is going to be rated higher. Can’t wait for the combine.

3. Oakland Raiders – Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida State
Werner is gaining momentum quick. Top 3 not out the question.

Eagles fans wanted Te’o, but I agree with Joeckel.

I just have this feeling the Titans are going to take Mingo as well…

If they don’t sign Vick, this has to be some QB.

Warmack is thought of highly like DeCastro, but the thing that will hold him from the top 10 is positional value.

“Best player in the draft” available at 11? I think someone would trade up before now to get him…

Today on Mike and Mike, expert Todd McShay was asked why was Tannehill so highly rated in comparison to QB Brandon Weeden. McShay commented that Weeden’s completion percentage and touchdown to interception ratio was the worst in the draft under pressure.
