Maker is one of the most intriguing prospects because of his NBA pedigree. His cousin Thon was one of the most athletic big men at the same phase and Makur is on par or better to some scouts. It will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Howard is a great school so beyond the obvious reasons, they should be in play for more guys going forward.

Maker announced on Friday that he has committed to Howard and head coach Kenny Blakeney over UCLA, Kentucky and Memphis. Maker is the highest-ranked prospect to commit to a historically Black college or university since the ESPN recruiting database began in 2007.
