Looks like he isn’t too upset about it. Yes those carries all add up and take their toll (see Adrian Foster’s up and down pro career) but if Foreman is up to it let him do it. He knows the risks and is willing to do whatever it takes to help Texas be great again.

Yes, there was that one guy the Rams picked but besides that NO PLAYERS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS were selected in the 2014 NFL Draft. NONE. ZIP. ZERO. ZILCH!

Garrett Gilbert was selected in the sixth round by the Rams (what guy did you think I was talking about) but he does not count because he transferred to SMU. Jackson Jeffcoat was an option but ultimately every team passed on the pass rusher.

We’ll see what happens but Texas has their work cut out for them right now.

Many, many, many questions with little or no answers. In a way it seems like he was destined to be an enigma from day one. A few weeks ago the near 30 quarterback even attended a University of Texas Pro Day…. as a competitor. The reviews were solid but no one gave him a shot.

VY may be on to the next phase in his life but at least he went out swinging and accomplished his college degree which is a positive note to go out on (if it’s over):

“This will rank No. 1 because it is what I came to school for,” Young told Bruce Feldman of CBSSports.com on Thursday night. “I came here to get an education, and to win a national championship. And now, I get to put that smile on my mom’s face.”

Now all of that is over due to a pectoral injury. Sad to see him go down halfway through the year:

Jackson Jeffcoat will miss the remainder of the 2012 season due to a right pectoral rupture suffered in the Red River Blowout loss to Oklahoma. The junior missed spring practice earlier this year due to a rupture of his left pectoral muscle suffered in the November game against Texas A&M that, after he played two more games, ultimately required surgery.

This is the same injury Elvis Dumervil suffered about a year or so ago and never quite returned to his 20 sack form. The fact that Jackson has had this injury twice will definitely raise a medical red flag on him. As a matter of fact, I can tell you for certain that recurring injuries like this will have at least one team take him completely off the draft board.

He still has a year of eligibility left at Texas so we’ll see what he decides to do. If he were to ask YA BOY I’d tell him go into the draft if the advisory board gives him anything higher than a 4th round grade.

Case McCoy isn’t the only backup quarterback to play so far.  David Ash has gotten some PT as well, but McCoy has gotten the lions share of snaps away from Gilbert.

I guess the future is now in Texas.
