NFL Draft Runningback Rankings

Runningback

  1. Trent Richardson RB Alabama
  2. Montee Ball RB Wisconsin
  3. Lamar Miller RB Miami
  4. LaMichael James RB Oregon
  5. Cyrus Gray RB Texas A&M
  6. Boom Herron RB The Ohio State University
  7. Chris Polk RB Washington
  8. Montel Harris RB Boston College

Trent Richardson may very well have been drafted before Mark Ingram had he entered the 2011 draft along with his former teammate. However by staying in school, he cements himself as the #1 runner in 2012. LaMichael James is the new Reggie Bush, but do NFL teams value a speed back enough to draft with a top 15 pick? I’m not sure. Even Chris Johnson was a late first rounder.

The back with the most to gain is OSU’s Boom Herron. If he comes back from his suspension strong he can be the third back taken in this class, likely in the second round.
