Bosa wants offset language removed from his contract and his full signing bonus:

The ball, as previously explained, remains in the team’s court. The latest offer from the Chargers came on the morning of July 28, Bosa’s camp responded within 90 minutes, and the team has still not countered.

The team presumably hasn’t countered because there’s nothing to say. The Chargers want offset language to be attached to the guaranteed contract, preventing double-dipping from Bosa if he’s cut during the next four years and signs elsewhere. The Chargers also want to defer a significant chunk of the signing bonus to March of 2017, while Bosa wants the full signing bonus to be paid out this year.

Bosa is willing to concede either point. The Chargers want both offset and deferral language.

San Diego better put some respek on Joey’s name. He’s not gonna wait forever.

The unique thing about LT was his ability to change direction in such a small space. There are many, many, many linebackers who have gotten their “ankles broke” by Mr. Tomlinson over the years. That, plus LT’s elite ability to find the end zone is what makes him an elite back that will stand the test of time.

He never won a title, but he undoubtedly left his stamp on the game of football.  I’ll miss LT.

“I don’t see any way he’s back [in San Diego]. The Chargers won’t franchise him, they’ve come out and said that,” Jason La Canfora said on NFL Network. “There’s been acrimony between the two sides over the years and there are too many teams that need receiving help, St. Louis, San Francisco and Tampa are some teams off the top of my head. Somebody is going to give him big bucks.”

This team definitely took a step backwards in 2011. Philip Rivers did not look his normal self despite being voted into the Pro Bowl. I have a theory that he played this year with some sort of injury, but until that information comes out we have to assume he regressed. Missing Darren Sproles seriously hurt this offense but the future is bright in the backfield with Ryan Matthews leading the way.

San Diego’s Achilles heel has been their defense. Specifically the lack of pass rush. Ever since the lights went out on Shawne Merriman’s Pro Bowl days and he took his talents to Buffalo things just have not quite been the same. Larry English was drafted as his replacement… ….. … …

This team needs to find another pass rusher quickly, as well as add another element on offense to replace what Sproles did. So what will they do this Spring? Schlaarp put together this Chargers Mock Draft for us.

1	Chargers		Burfict, Vontaze ILB from Arizona State The Chargers need to draft defensive players. That is where their weakness is. They have a very talented ILB in Donald Butler already but this way Burfict can rotate in Takeo Spikes and learn from him at the same time. Burfict is mean and would add an intense energy and that is something the Chargers lack.
2	Chargers		Jenkins, Brandon DE from Florida State Chargers do not have a very good pass rush. Brandon Jenkins can eventually develop into a strong threat at the OLB position. He can Rotate with Antwan Barnes until he is ready to become a full time starter.
3	Chargers		James, LaMichael RB from Oregon When the Chargers let Sproles go they made a huge mistake. James can give the Chargers that threat to break one for A TD at anytime and since there is no one on the roster right now that can do that they will look to fill the void.
4	Chargers		Green, Ladarius TE from Louisiana-Lafayette Gates is getting old and it is showing. The Chargers need to draft a guy that can be his back up and learn from him until he retires then become the starter. I think this is the right guy to do so. Watching him in the bowl game against SDSU it looks like he can eventually become an elite Tight End in the NFL.
5	Chargers		Lindley, Ryan QB from San Diego State A local kid with the right size and a huge arm would fit well with the Chargers. Im not saying he will ever be a starter but maybe a very good backup.
6	Chargers		Broyles, Ryan WR from Oklahoma The Chargers need to add depth in the receiver area and they don’t need to take one early due to the fact they already have 3 good ones and Rivers can make just about anyone look good.
7	Chargers		Vlachos, William C from Alabama The Chargers need to add depth to this position in case Hardwick does decide to retire (which I doubt he will) but if he does stay maybe they can groom someone into becoming the new starter for a later time.

It wasn’t that long ago where every analyst at the worldwide sports leader was chanting the praises of the Chargers and hailing them as the next super power in the AFC. Philip Rivers was on a roll, Darren Sproles was killing defenses, and the defensive pass rush was “LIGHTS OUT.” But because of a few misguided personnel moves, a couple of bust draft picks, and the regression/alleged injury of Philip Rivers the Chargers are already out of the playoff race and are looking up at the TeBroncos in the AFC West.

Quite simply the idea to let go of Darren Sproles was a bad idea. Ryan Matthews was a great draft pick, when he plays but defensively there is a lot to be desired. Bob Sanders already got injured and retired, Larry English is STILL in witness protection, and there is no answer for the hole Shawne Merriman left when he took his talents to Buffalo.

2	Chargers		Adams, Mike OT from Ohio State Mike Adams is a solid Offensive Lineman. The chargers have two pro bowl Offensive Lineman and they both might retire.
3	Chargers		Toon, Nick WR from Wisconsin Nick toon is very underrated Phillip Rivers will elevate his game.
4	Chargers		Allen, Dwayne TE from Clemson Antonio Gates is a Hall of Fame player but he is old and he has foot problems. So picking the best TE in the draft to learn under a Hall of Famer is smart.
5	Chargers		Lindley, Ryan QB from San Diego State Phillip Rivers is a top 5 Quarter Back in the NFL however he is 29 which means he will probably have 3-4 good years left in him and Ryan Lindley is a local guy so the fans will like him.
6	Chargers		Acho, Emmanuel OLB from Texas The pick is for Depth at the Line Backer position.
7	Chargers		Nix, Lucas OG from Pittsburgh This pick is also for depth and developing raw talent.
