Rams to Trade #2 Overall Draft Pick?

The St. Louis Rams are in a peculiar position. With the number two overall pick and incumbent quarterback Sam Bradford needing competition behind him at worst, this team must decide whether or not to use the #2 overall pick on a quarterback of the future. There is a good chance every quarterback in the draft will be available so they can easily take this route if needed.

However if the player the Rams want is unsuspectedly taken at #1 overall (teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles, Johnny Manziel, Greg Robinson, or Sammy Watkins) then it gets real.

In a scenario with the “best” player in the draft Jadeveon Clowney still on the board, the Rams could set to once again trade out and get a large sum of picks in return.

Rams general manager Les Snead said at this point the calls for the No. 2 pick have been “flirtatious” and nothing will be serious until it becomes clearer what direction the Houston Texans will take with the No. 1 overall pick.

Chris Long and Robert Quinn are already holding down the DE spot. Clowney would be a luxury for a NON PLAYOFF TEAM. AKA, a pick that won’t make them marginally better because they already have talent at his position.

In my scenario the best thing the Rams could hope for is trade down to three or four and take Clemson’s Sammy Watkins instead.

Tajh Boyd and Sammy Wakins go Crazy on Clemson School Records

The Clemson Tigers have two great players in Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins, no doubt. Against Wake Forest last night the two superstars showed why they are one of the most explosive passing duos in the nation.

In the process Tajh broke Clemson’s school record with 428 passing yards previously held by Charlie Whitehurst. Watkins went crazy as well hauling in just eight passes for 202 yards and a score.

These two men will have an eye on the 2014 NFL Draft. Boyd, a Junior is likely to return for one more season and the true sophomore Watkins is not eligible until after next season.

Clemson WR Sammy Watkins Busted for Weed and Pills

I don’t know what is in the water. Two days, two college football star arrested. Today it is Clemson’s Sammy Watkins, arguably the best WR in the nation.

Sammy and a Clemson soccer player were caught riding dirty:

Clemson University wide receiver Sammy Watkins and men’s soccer player Amadou-Tidiane Daniel Dia were arrested by university police and booked into the City of Clemson’s holding facility early Friday morning.

According to Clemson Media Relations, Watkins and Dia, both 18, were arrested on drug-related charges. Both are being charged with simple possession of marijuana. In addition, Watkins faces a possession of a controlled substance charge. All of the charges aremisdemeanors.

Officials say they saw the car Watkins was driving scrape against a curb on campus and pulled him over in a parking lot off Commons Court. The temporary license tag was also not lit.

When the officer came up to the car, he smelled marijuana. A search turned up two pills that Watkins didn’t have a prescription for and the marijuana, according to a release.
