What’s interesting about this team is the “buy a Super Bowl” strategy actually finally worked in LA.

Some of the key contributors for the Rams in Matt Stafford, Odell Beckham III, Von Miller, and Jalen Ramsey were all acquired by trade. This team has taken on a new strategy in trading away first and second round picks for veterans that will contribute right now. The Rams do draft the most players in the league after round 3, so the team also has depth.

Do I think this strategy will work long term? It honestly depends on how long Matt Stafford is a quality quarterback in the league. It’s extremely difficult to find a franchise QB and even the Rams know that after having to trade Jared Goff.

If the Rams can get top production out of Stafford for 4 or 5 more years they can lead the race in the NFC- especially if Tom Brady is actually really retired. If Stafford regresses, then this expensive roster will be led by some washed vet or some guy who’s not even a first round pick.

We’ll see how it goes, but for now enjoy it Los Angeles. This Broncos fan is off to figure out who we’re getting in return for Von Miller with the last pick in the 2nd round.

In sports it is an incredible advantage to have your franchise located in Los Angeles. Guys will take less money because of the opportunity that lies outside the game in that city.

Odell Beckham Jr. has agreed to a one-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams, the team announced Thursday.

The free-agent wide receiver joins a high-powered offense led by quarterback Matthew Stafford and adds to a depth chart at the position that already includes Cooper Kupp, Robert Woods and Van Jefferson.

Beckham became a free agent when he cleared waivers on Tuesday after being released by the Cleveland Browns.

The Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks were among the other teams Beckham considered this week, sources had told ESPN.

Beckham is the second high-profile player added by the Rams this month, after Los Angeles traded for star pass-rusher Von Miller before the deadline last week. Miller welcomed Beckham to Los Angeles on his Instagram Story, posting: “Let’s chase this ring family!!!!”

The Rams have decided to trade starter Jared Goff for the Lions starting QB Matt Stafford.

It was clear that the Rams lost confidence in Goff and they wanted a fresh start. Without enough assets to get someone in the draft or trade for Deshaun Watson, this makes a lot of good sense.

I think Gurley will be gone in two seasons when his deal is up, at that point we’ll see if Goff has the goods to get them a chip without him.

Here are the details on what LA gave up for the #1 pick:

To get the top pick from the Titans, the Rams gave up their first-round pick this year (No. 15 overall), their first-round pick next year, both of their second-round picks this year (their own and the one they got from the Eagles in the Sam Bradford/Nick Foles trade) and their third-round pick next year. The Titans are also throwing in their fourth-round pick and sixth-round pick this year.

The pick will likely be Carson Wentz.

What a way to reboot this franchise, Wentz better be a Hall of Famer.

The Rams will gain a young player with less on an injury history and the Eagles will acquire whatever Sam Bradford has left in the tank. Maybe Chip Kelly isn’t going to acquire Marcus Mariota. Maybe, just maybe he has his eye on a wide receiver….

Considering the Eagles have now a much higher draft pick, I think Amari Cooper aka Jeremy Maclin 2.0 may just end up in Philly.

Apparently the “Time Out” Sports Bar in St. Louis was so offended by the Rams players doing the “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” they have decided to stop supporting the team altogether.

“Due to the bone headed ‘hands up, don’t shoot’ act by the number of Rams players on the Sunday game the Time Out Bar & Grill will no longer support the St Louis Rams, so we will no longer have Happy hours for the Rams games and all signs and pictures will be off the walls. … We have to stand up to thugs who destroy our community and burn down local businesses, and boycott the other thugs/organizations who support them.”

As business owners this is their right, sure. But the language they use is simply racist and prejudice in nature. I’m glad they have blown their cover and hope this community no longer supports THEM.

Excuse me, who are you exactly calling a thug? Would you be calling them thugs if it were four white players? Of course not.

This is just another indication of a growing majority of our country that refuses to acknowledge the injustices that people of color/urban people go through on a near daily basis. Four millionaire NFL players throwing their hands up was enough for you to call them thugs yet you have never met the men a day in your natural life. Ridiculous.

Of course “Time Out” posted a rebuttal on their Facebook after they got killed in the comments and on Yelp (you already know YA BOY is off to Yelp immediately after he clicks publish.)
