Porter Jr. is a tenacious defender who plays with a high level of aggression and physicality, often jamming receivers at the line of scrimmage and disrupting their routes. He is also an excellent tackler who is not afraid to come up and make plays in the run game, showing good form and technique when making open-field tackles.

Porter Jr. has the potential to be a lockdown corner at the next level, but his lack of elite top-end speed may limit his effectiveness against speedier wideouts. However, his size, strength, and ball skills make him a valuable asset in the defensive backfield, and his NFL lineage and experience should help him adapt quickly to the professional game.

Overall, Joey Porter Jr. is a solid cornerback prospect with the physical tools and football IQ to excel at the next level. With his combination of size, strength, and ball skills, he has the potential to develop into a reliable starter for an NFL team in need of a shutdown corner.

As far as the victims go, the NCAA has created a new division dubbed the “task force” to identify where the money should go:

In a Tuesday release, the NCAA said it was setting up a group of 10 to “develop the philosophy and guidelines for the $60 million endowment… that will benefit external programs for the prevention of child sexual abuse and victim treatment.”

According to Philly.com, the new uniforms will feature a blue ribbon and player’s last names on the back. The name change was made to encourage each player to remain accountable for his own actions.

Nice touch. Now let’s see what they do for the victims.

With that said, a lot of players have peaced out from Penn State. Rob Bolden is now a LSU Tiger, Silas Redd is a USC Trojan, and now one more joins the list:

As has been rumored for the past several days, wide receiver Justin Brown has decided to leave the Nittany Lions and will play instead this season for Oklahoma. The Sooners were one of the first schools to contact Brown after the sanctions were announced last week and offer him a scholarship.

Brown flew into Oklahoma City Monday night, per a tweet from the player, and was on the practice field with his new Sooner teammates Tuesday morning.

Les Miles confirmed to the media that the former Penn State QB is definitely in tow for the Tigers:

Will Bolden become the Tigers starting QB? We’ll see.

Silas Redd is expected to announce at some point this week — perhaps as early as Tuesday — that he will be transferring to USC.

There is word that USC players want this guy so badly that some of them would give up their scholarships .  That is totally unnecessary as the team can still offer Redd and just forfeit a schollie in 2013.

The Reading (Pa.) Eagle reported that new Penn State coach Bill O’Brien told parents of his players he has reached out to Nike about altering the uniforms as soon as this season. “It might be easier said than done,” the newspaper quoted the coach as saying. “I’m not sure we can get it done this year.”

Rumor is that the new jerseys will have names on the back and blue helmets.

No matter what you can do, people will remember what happened. I’m not sure playing with the uniform should be as big a priority as raising the money to help those victims.

According to ESPN.com‘s Joe Schad, USC head coach Lane Kiffin traveled to Redd’s home state of Connecticut to meet with the running back. A source told Schad that the meeting lasted for three hours, and that “it went very well.”

Schad wrote that “USC laid out an extensive presentation on how Redd would fit with the team, including Power Point presentation and video clips.”

Redd is said to be struggling with the decision of moving on to a team with national title aspirations or remaining where his heart is in Happy Valley. It’s unclear when Redd will make a final decision on his future. USC opens summer camp Aug. 6.

Should Silas take his talent to Southern California? I think so.

Here is the thing… yes, Joe Paterno did a ton of good things for the University. Tons of winning seasons, a couple of championships, and built the program into one of the nation’s most recognizable brands. However what Joe Paterno didn’t do outweighs all of this.

For over 14 years, young men were touched by Jerry Sandusky directly due to Joe Paterno’s negligence. That is something I cannot and will not get over. I had a ton of respect for Paterno and all of it is now gone. I hope they never bring back Paterno’s statue. Congrats to Bobby Bowden who is now the NCAA’s all-time winningest coach due to Penn State being vacated of every win from 1998 through 2011.

That deal included an unprecedented $60 million fine; four-year bowl ban; multiple years of scholarship reductions/roster limits; vacating all wins from 1998-2011; and five years of probation. There has been much consternation coming from the extended Penn State family regarding the appearance that the university simply rolled over for the NCAA.

Hopefully from here the people of the PSU community and the victims can start to heal without the media frenzy.
