NFL settlement as the lockout ends.  That was one of the loose threads hanging around the status of the NFL lockout.  If Jackson did not sign the agreement then he could have possibly continued the lockout.

Named plaintiff Vincent Jackson now is willing to release his claim without compensation – meaning no money or lifting of the franchise tag.

Many media outlets reported earlier this week that fellow franchised player, Logan Mankins, would not hold up the lockout either.  It was insinuated that Jackson would.  Now that Brady V. NFL is settled, will we see Jackson V. NFL?

There is a reason we didn’t cover the lockout and that is because it’s pointless.  At the end of the day these guys get paid a king’s ransom to play a child’s game.  Yes they out their bodies on the line for our entertainment but they know that they will get hurt going in, and collect checks larger than most people’s yearly salary every week for doing so.  It’s hard to feel bad for these guys and their billionaire employers.  That would be the equivalent of Donald Trump asking me to borrow a twenty because he just filed bankruptcy for the 10th time.
