As the Jets consider their options, here is a list of free agent quarterbacks who are still available and could potentially be a valuable addition to the team:

1. Carson Wentz: The former Philadelphia Eagles and Indianapolis Colts quarterback has shown flashes of brilliance in the past and could be a solid option for the Jets.

2. Cam Newton: A former NFL MVP, Cam Newton brings a wealth of experience and athleticism to any team. His dual-threat abilities could complement Zach Wilson’s playing style.

3. Josh Rosen: Although he hasn’t found a long-term home in the NFL yet, Rosen is still a young quarterback with untapped potential.

4. Colin Kaepernick: The controversial figure who took a knee during the national anthem to protest social injustice has been out of the league for several years. However, his skills and leadership qualities could benefit the Jets.

5. Joe Flacco: A Super Bowl-winning quarterback, Flacco has a strong arm and playoff experience, making him an attractive option for a team in need of a veteran presence.

6. Matt Ryan: Despite rumors of retirement, Matt Ryan could be an intriguing option if he decides to continue his career. His experience and accuracy could provide stability to the Jets’ offense.

7. Chase Daniel: Known for his reliability as a backup quarterback, Daniel has served various teams well and could be a valuable mentor for Zach Wilson.

8. Nick Foles: The hero of the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl win in 2018, Foles has a history of coming up clutch in big moments.

9. Kellen Mond: A rookie with potential, Mond could be an interesting developmental project for the Jets.

10. Bryce Perkins: An undrafted free agent with dual-threat abilities, Perkins could be a wildcard option worth considering.

11. Trevor Siemian: Siemian has been a reliable backup in the NFL and could provide stability in case of injury.

12. Danny Etling: A young and relatively unproven quarterback, Etling may be a low-risk, high-reward option for the Jets.

The move for the Giants was more about the money than an indictment on the player. Bradberry, 28, was set to make $13.5 million this season and would have counted as $21.9 million on the team’s salary cap. His release leaves the Giants thin at cornerback

During the game it was rumored that Geno Smith would get a look and he did. On his initial 4th quarter drive Geno looked like Geno which isn’t necessarily a good or bad thing at this point. He came into the game, maneuvered around the pocket pressure, got a few quick completions… and then threw a pick.

Like I said, he looked like Geno.

And that people is why Todd Bowles is carrying not two, not three, but four quarterbacks!

In this pass happy NFL it is basically all about the quarterback. If you do not have one you will not be winning games. Bowles is so determined to find one he is carrying four at the same darn time!

That’s Ryan Fitzpatrick, Geno Smith, with Bryce Petty, and Christian Hackenberg all waiting in the wings. It looks like after this season Fitz AND Geno will likely be gone, leaving the latter two to compete for the job. Who knows, they just may draft a Deshaun Watson or DeShone Kizer if things get bad enough.

In the current NFL if you do not have a QB of the future on your roster you must keep drafting them. Take them in consecutive years. Take two or three in the same draft if you have to. That strategy worked out for the Denver Broncos and Washington Redskins.

It just may work out for the Jets.

Hopefully the Knicks get a Derek Rose that looks closer to the 2011 MVP than the guy we saw often injured.

One can say that the NFC East is going to be a roller-coaster ride if nothing else. It doesn’t look like there will be a clear cut winner of this division until week 17!

The Giants currently sit atop the NFC East. So they will be drafting last in the NFC East.

1. Giants: Emmanuel Ogbah DE Oklahoma State
Round 1: The Giants primary concern should be improving their pass rush. The Giants in their last two Superbowl victories were carried by the pass rush, not Eli Manning’s arm. So improving this area is a must if they wish to see another trophy under Eli Manning. Ogbah already looks like an NFL player at 6’4″ 275 lbs. He is a power player more so than a finesse one. He does well as a pass rusher, but needs a little work defending the run as he gets sucked in on PA. He is a raw prospect. He has shown that he can drop in coverage as well.

2. Giants: Tyler Johnstone OT Oregon
Round 2: The Giants O line issues are well documented and still the Giants haven’t found a good O line to protect Eli or a generate holes for the run game. While I do believe Flowers will be a good OT one day this year as supposed to see him on the right side. Johnstone could be an anchor on the left side to slide Flowers over to the right and help create some stability along the O line. He is very athletic able to get to the second level and does well on tosses and stretch plays. More surprising however is how well he blends that athleticism with a strong core balance to maintain leverage and not get knocked back. He also doesn’t look to just latch on and carry defenders, he looks to drive opponents. He seems determined to prove he isn’t a finesse player. He doesn’t have many weaknesses other than that he tore his ACL in 2013.

3. Giants: Sheldon Day DT Notre Dame
Round 3: The Giants won their Superbowls, they didn’t have any huge overpowering DT. They had smaller guys that played in a rotation and DE that could move inside to provide pass rush. Sheldon Day is one of those kind of player. The Giants have Jonathan Hankins who is a monster in the middle of their defense. But he can’t do it alone. They need a pass rusher next to him. Day has a great first step and get off anticipating the snap. He also has a relentless motor, and does a good job of being calm and not getting caught off guard. However durability is a question. Also he isn’t big and won’t be an anchor in the run game. He is one of the best interior disruptors in the nation.

With that said, competition at all positions has heated up. Antonio Cromartie has been moved to new role in a wide receiver package, and Tebow is taking Sanchez’ spot in a new goal line package. To put it lightly: NO ONE’S JOB IS SAFE WITH REX.

A few running backs got into a fight which ended up in over 20 players jumping in to throw blows, break it up, cool heads, etc. You’ll see Tim Tebow in the video but I guarantee he didn’t throw a punch or ESPN would have stopped (it may have, I honestly don’t watch much of it due to the current format but different blog for a different day.)

With Nicks sidelined deep into August, Randle figures to open Giants training camp as a starter and receive first-team practice reps all the way through. The Giants need to be preparing Randle to begin the season as a starter, in the event of a Nicks setback.

At the very least, Randle is expected to be New York’s third receiver during the NFL opener against Dallas.

New York Giants’ quarterback and 2012 Super Bowl champion Eli Manning visited CNN’s Starting Point to talk Peyton, Super Bowl ring, Saturday Night Live performance, off-field pranks, taking a month off and his work with nonprofit Build Our Kids Success before-school program.

They also asked him about Tim Tebow, of course.

Manning said, “You know, it’s one of those deals in New York. You win a Super Bowl, but I’m the third most talked about quarterback right now between Mark [Sanchez] and Tim [Tebow] and I. That’s the way I like it.”

I am removing the bust label from Aaron Maybin. Yes, Maybin tied me for sacks the first two years of his career, but it seems like all it took was a change of scenery to turn that light bulb on. I remember watching the Jets game versus Buffalo this year thinking “Aaron Maybin can’t be blocked. Wait, did I just think that?!”

Maybin has rejuvenated his career with the New york Rex’s (6 sacks in 2011) and has been rewarded with a new deal. Hopefully he keeps playing up to his potential with the new deal.

Many former Jets players and former Broncos players were on television this morning and they basically said the same thing: this is not going to work.  Tebow is still too far behind in his development.  The Jets did this move to generate press and that is the ONLY reason in some people’s eyes.

The fall from grace is going to come.  Maybe Tebow’s next stop is the CFL. Maybe he should look for some Calgary apartments for rent sooner rather than later.  With that said, Tebow is happy right now hopefully he will work on being a QB more than he is working on being a celebrity.

The end is near for Mark Sanchez, but is Tim really better? Of course some people are still harping on the “he just wins!” manta which I find utterly hilarious.  Winning several fluke games, and backing into the playoffs 1-4 with the worst statline of any starting QB in the last 10 years is not winning.  But we all know how this is going to end.

Mark Sanchez’ NFL record 4 road playoff wins will be quickly forgotten if not already.  The boos will come.  Teeebow chants will start.  Tebow will play, and he will make a few plays with his legs but this is New York.
