This looks like a good move for the Grizzlies. Though the Grizzlies are apparently trying their hardest to avoid paying the luxury tax, they were still somehow someway able to unload the massive contact of SF Rudy Gay.
Gay will be headed to Toronto in a deal that routes Jose Calderon to Detroit and nets the Grizz Ed Davis, Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye in return.
This could set up the Grizzlies to make a deep run in the West. Realistically there is only the Oklahoma City Thunder in their way.
