Jabari Parker’s Embarassing National TV Debut

jabariI was perplexed watching Simeon phenom Jabari Parker on ESPN last night. Granted I was flipping between that, the Eagles-Bengals game and the LOLakers, I was highly disappointed in what I saw.

Yes, Parker is battling injuries but he looked like an old man among boys out there. And not in a good way. He had no lift and was just sluggish. He probably should have sat the game out. Not only did he travel five times, he was also blocked at least three times.

Here is what he had to say about the disappointing debut:

Jabari Parker scored just five points and was called for five traveling violations in Simeon Academy’s 67-57 loss to DeSoto on Thursday night.

The game was televised nationally on ESPN.

“We’ve got a long ways to go,” Parker said. “I just came off an injury, and it’s going to be a long time. Physically, I’m almost there, but my body’s not doing things I want it to.”
