So the 2012 NBA Draft has come and gone. A lot of decisions have been made that will alter the league for the seasons to come. Many people have speculated that this draft was stacked with the most talent since the late 90′s. If that stands to be true then a few teams made out like fat rats…..
The New Orleans Hornets
It is not a surprise that the Hornets had a good draft. It seems like every few years the NBA decides to build up a certain franchise and now that the Clippers are competitive, the New Orleans franchise seems to get all of the breaks. Anthony Davis at #1 and Austin Rivers at #10. I guarantee this team makes the playoffs by 2014 and Stern laughs all the way to the bank.
The Charlotte Bobcats Will Continue to Score 86 ppg.
Your team cannot score and the answer you come up with is Ben Gordon and drafting not one, but two defensive players? Ok, because that is going to work so well. Before you call me an idiot remember Michael Kidd-Gilchrist only scored 11 ppg as a collegiate player, unlike…
Bradley Beal Will Be the First All-Star From this Class
Lots of people like Beal and with good reason. The kid is the best shooter in the draft. Period. From the time he was in high school until now he has ranked among the best percentage scorers in his class. That’s over four years folks… and MJ looked right at him and passed. That’s cool, the Wiz will be spanking us for years with Wall and Beal to remind us what could have been.
Dion Waiters and Damian Lillard Go Much Higher Than Expected
Who thought that by the 6th pick a guy that never started in college, and a guy from Weber State would be selected? Hands please. Also who thought they would be selected before…
Harrison Barnes to the Warriors
I have always liked the Warriors. Quiet as kept, Monta Ellis is my favorite player in the NBA right now. I like Kobe and Lebron as much as anyone else, but as far as who I root for its Monta Ellis. That got me watching the Warriors, who I think will turn it around rather quickly. Barnes and Klay Thompson will be a nice rotation and now they add Draymond Green? Man…
Rockets take Lamb, White, and Jones
So the Rockets dont get Dwight Howard. At least not tonight. What they did do was draft a few assets who can be flipped for a big star if they pan out. Houston has made it no secret: they WILL acquire a superstar. It just is a matter of time.
Celtics Get Big
Fab Melo and Sullinger back to back? On paper these are great picks. I would love to see Kevin MF Garnett return to get them off to a good start. But then again, he made Big Baby Glen Davis cry….
And to Wrap This Up, The Thunder Continue to Beat Everyone At Drafting
Perry Jones III at #28 overall? Man…. the rich get richer. Even if Serge Ibaka gets a near-max contract from some other team after next season, Jones III gives them some flexibility in softening the blow. There are also rumors of trading James Harden and signing Ray Allen, but that won’t happen. It will be Ibaka that chases the cash and Jones III the man who fills in.
