Y! Sources: NBA Commissioner David Stern has killed the Lakers deal for Chris Paul

(More) “In the end, David didn’t like that the players were dictating where they wanted to go,” source says.

I’ve said all along that Chris Paul will end up a Clipper, and Dwight Howard a Laker and I still believe that to be true. The Lakers were foolish to trade two big men for an oft-injured point guard, even if he is a top 5 PG when healthy. Trading a combo of Odom & Gasol/Bynum for Howard makes far more sense and the Lakers wont have to deal with a team that is owned by the NBA.

Smart money says Dwight Howard is a Laker by next Friday.
