So the first domino of the Lakers shuffle has fallen. Word has it that New Orleans guard Chris Paul is coming to the Lakeshow in return for Lamar Odom and Paul Gasol.

It is a good deal for the Hornets who get a nice package of players in return for their superstar. Kevin Martin, Louis Scola, and Lamar Odom are assets that the Hornets can always flip to get a better player at a later date (Brandon Roy?).
For the Lakers the deal really doesn’t make any sense unless they have an agreement to get Dwight Howard for Andrew Bynum pretty much straight up. Odom and Bynum would have been a start to a package to get D12, now it seems that the Lakers may fall a bit short unless there is something going on we don’t yet know….
