Mark Sanchez is among the most scruitinized players in the NFL. With good reason. He is the league leader in turnovers by a single player over the past few seasons. The Jets have attempted to replace him but the likes of Greg McElroy, Tim Tebow, Mark Brunell, and David Garrard haven’t been able to supplant him. That is why the Jets stayed patient and drafted West Virginia’s Geno Smith with their second round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft.

Sanchez seems unaffected, and believes he will still be the starter in 2013-2014. Do you agree?

“I’m planning on playing, I’m planning on starting.”

“Part of that comes when you’re just confident in yourself. If I was insecure about something or . . . can’t handle this competition, maybe I wouldn’t say much to him. Maybe I’d be a little scared to give him help,” said Sanchez. “But I don’t feel like that. I just don’t. That’s not my personality. I’m confident, I’m ready to go, I can do it, I know I can.”

After throwing not one, not two, but three interceptions the Jets finally decided to switch quarterbacks today. Out went Mark Sanchez and in went Greg McElroy.

Yup. Greg McElroy. Not Tim Tebow, who is inactive with a rib injury.

The Jets under Rex Ryan have been notorious for sticking with Mark Sanchez even if he looks terrible. Two seasons ago Rex would routinely have Mark Brunell take a few first team snaps inorder to inspire Mark Sanchez. I guess the method has changed with Sanchize finally being regulated to the sideline.

Will New York draft a quarterback?

It is very possible. There will be some good names out there. A guy like Tyler Bray, Tyler Wilson, or even a Logan Thomas (scouts are warming back up to him) could all be in play.

With Tim Tebow still on the roster, I don’t see how drafting a new quarterback would go over smoothly. If the Jets are going to do it, the best way would be to completely clean house of Rex, Sanchez, and Tebow which I doubt will happen.

According to Plaxico Burress (still without a 2012 team), Mark played with a shoulder injury in 2011.

Here are the details:

“He definitely has enough arm,” Burress said in an interview with WFAN radio, via Jane McManus of ESPNNewYork.com. “He was battling some injuries last year, shoulder-wise that a lot of people didn’t know about . . . different things like that. But I think he really turned a corner.”

Who knows if Mark was really injured or not. He didn’t make any of the injury reports last year. All that we know is that in 2012 he better be on his A game inquired or no. The Tebow wagon is waiting to take his spot, rightfully so or not.

From the report it sounds like Plaxico is trying to get back in the Jets good graces. Or anyone’s for that matter. Two weeks ago he was talking about how much he wanted to play with Cam Newton. Next week Plaxico may get desperate and start talking about how awesome Carson Palmer looked in 2011.
