In a recent episode of his popular podcast, Bill Simmons, renowned sports commentator and founder of The Ringer, dropped a significant bombshell that has set the basketball world abuzz. According to Simmons, the NBA is seriously considering expanding its franchise count, potentially welcoming both a 31st and 32nd team into the league. What makes this revelation even more intriguing is the tantalizing prospect of Lakers superstar LeBron James taking on a role as part-owner of the proposed Vegas-based franchise.

For those who may not be aware, LeBron James is no stranger to sports ownership. He is a key figure within the Fenway Sports Group, a conglomerate that has made substantial investments in various sports teams across different leagues. Given LeBron’s well-established connections in the sports ownership world, the idea of him extending his influence to the NBA by acquiring ownership in a Las Vegas franchise is an exciting development that basketball enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating.

The Ringer founder Bill Simmons says he has “intel” that the NBA will expand to Las Vegas, and that LeBron James will be apart of the ownership group.

“I have some intel,” Simmons said on the latest edition of The Bill Simmons Podcast. “I think the league is going to expand to Vegas and Seattle.”

Simmons then doubled down on his “intel” and claimed Lebron James will be a part owner of the new NBA team. “If I had to bet on a Lebron scenario, it would be for him to be involved with whatever happens with that. Where he is the point man of that Vegas team. And I haven’t heard that mentioned. I don’t care if it gets aggregated because I think I’m right.”

Simmons claimed he even has info on how much the two expansion teams will cost. “I heard combined we’re talking 6.5, 7 billon of the two teams,” he said.

“I’m just saying the Vegas thing I would watch that,” Simmons added. “I think it’s officially real — Lebron is definitely going to be involved in that.”

The Ringer founder Bill Simmons says he has “intel” that the NBA will expand to Las Vegas, and that LeBron James will be apart of the ownership group.

The prospect of LeBron James assuming a stake in an NBA franchise adds a new layer of intrigue to the expansion talks. As one of the most iconic figures in modern basketball and a global sports superstar, LeBron’s involvement could bring considerable attention and investment to the potential Vegas team, further elevating the city’s status as a sports hub.

While these revelations have generated considerable excitement among fans, it’s important to remember that expansion decisions in professional sports leagues are complex and multi-faceted. They involve a range of considerations, from market viability to ownership groups and arena infrastructure. Nonetheless, the mere possibility of LeBron James stepping into a new role as an NBA team owner has captured the imagination of basketball aficionados worldwide.

As discussions surrounding the NBA’s expansion plans continue to unfold, all eyes will undoubtedly remain fixed on the prospect of Las Vegas becoming home to a new franchise, possibly with LeBron James at the helm as a part-owner. The evolving narrative promises to be an exciting one, and basketball fans will be closely monitoring any developments on this intriguing front.

This has been in the works for a few seasons but it is finally happening. Lebron James will finally change his Lakers number 23 to number 6 for the 2022-23 NBA season.

#6 is also the number James will wear in Space Jam so it makes some sense. I guess. Lebron is always going to do something to stay in the headlines so if we didn’t talk about #6 he probably would announce he’s buying the Pelicans and relocating them to Mars as the Toon Squad or something. I wouldn’t rule that out by the way.

In all seriousness, I dislike when athletes change jersey numbers because it totally screws the fans who invested in their original jersey. Some of us cannot drop hundreds of dollars on jerseys every year because our favorite players changed their minds. This is more of a shot at the NFL’s new single digit number guys and not Bron for those wondering.

Good luck to James with his #6, hopefully he will match that jersey number in NBA titles.

I cannot wait for the Lebron post career documentaries. Right now everyone is driving down nostalgia lane with Jordan and the Bulls and is stopping on Lebron Dr. to throw shade. That’s cool, but wait until we get to the FULL CAREER numbers. The Lebron/Jordan debate is only going to skew further in the King’s favor as time goes on.

One of the guys who won’t give Lebron any credit is Paul Pierce who had to create a super team himself to finally win in the Eastern Conference. Now he says Lebron needed a super team? Did he forget that Lebron had already been in the finals? Did he forget that Lebron’s 2010 Heat were a respone to the 2008-2010 Celtics?

Here is Pierce talking about it below:

Chris Broussard has jumped on the latest Lebron hate train regarding his non-comments on the China situation. This is very surprising as Broussard is a respected figure and has had contact with Lebron’s inner circle, but now he has stooped to the media horse and pony show of fake hating Lebron.

(7:35 – 12:00)

Wait a minute, so Lebron James who is from Akron, Ohio, United States is supposed to use his platform to speak on an issue he doesn’t understand in a country tens of thousands of miles away from him? What happened to the days of being quiet when you didn’t have anything productive to say?

Where were all these people when Lebron failed to make a comment on the Johnathan Crawford III case in Ohio? You know, the case where an unarmed young black man was gunned down by police for carrying a pellet gun around Walmart that he took off the retail shelf.

Oh yeah, because that doesn’t fit certain media agendas and because America in general doesn’t care for that demographic no one cares that Lebron also side stepped that one.

The point here is that if Lebron is given passes domestically to pick and choose when to speak out then by definition he should be given that same discretion globally. He doesn’t want to speak on China and HK. A lot of us don’t. We aren’t there, we don’t know what’s really going on. Its best we all leave the global politics to the politicians.

Adidas has shifted their focus to fashion and exploded back into the popular culture where NIKE is still hanging on with big endorsers and performance gear. Under Armour is lagging behind with the lack of a spectacular Curry shoe, but NIKE may be joining them in the loser circle with this latest Lebron.

The Lebron 15 looks terrible. Just look at it. I don’t know what they were going for but no, just no.

It looks like a military boot with snakeskin. Something a Vietnam vet might rock, but not me.

My only question to NIKE and Lebron?

WHAT ARE THOOOOOOOOSE?

Lebron James and the Cavs proved that impossible was possible.

Now that Lebron has brough Cleveland it’s first title in 52 years we are now learning what his secret motivation to win was. Was it the city? Was it his childhood? Space Jam 2?

Nope. It was someone in Miami who told him he was making a mistake:

Who was this person? I think his name might rhyme with Rat Piley.
