In today’s news, we have Philadelphia sports radio personalities reporting a fun rumor: new head coach is looking to trade Ben Simmons from the 76ers for the #1 overall pick and Lamelo Ball.

I am not sure how this works salary wise as the Wolves already have D’Angelo Russell and Karl Anthony Towns under nice contracts but NBA teams always seem to find cap space to make room.

If the Wolves say yes the 76ers should pack Ben’s bags before they get off the phone. Not only does the move get rid of one of your roster problems (what to do with a 7′ quasi point guard who won’t shoot threes with Embiid on the floor) but it also clears a ton of cap space to fix the bench.

I wouldn’t get too happy 76ers fans. We all know no matter what Doc is going to blow another 3-1 lead.

Good move by Liangelo. His path to the NBA was always going to be unique so it’s nice that he recognizes the moment at stake for his brother. Gelo will probably have to roll through the G-League for a few seasons before he gets his opportunity, so it’s only right that he stays out the way of his brother’s draft stock.

All jokes aside, I actually think he will be the best Ball brother in due time. What’s wrong about his game? Well, beyond the trademark Ball family shooting form it is his shot selection. Melo’s BIG BALLER AAU team got beat by 50 points by the Compton Magic and all the talk from the game was Melo’s shot selection.

What do you think? Will he get better with shot selection?

I think he may need to move to SG and be fed shots by a pass first PG, but again he’s only 15 and is three years away from stepping on that UCLA court he’s committed to.
