When you looked at the rosters you knew this would happen but the Bengals still put up a great fight. Joe Burrow is going to need some help going forward but alas, it was the Los Angeles team’s night.

What’s interesting about this team is the “buy a Super Bowl” strategy actually finally worked in LA.

Some of the key contributors for the Rams in Matt Stafford, Odell Beckham III, Von Miller, and Jalen Ramsey were all acquired by trade. This team has taken on a new strategy in trading away first and second round picks for veterans that will contribute right now. The Rams do draft the most players in the league after round 3, so the team also has depth.

Do I think this strategy will work long term? It honestly depends on how long Matt Stafford is a quality quarterback in the league. It’s extremely difficult to find a franchise QB and even the Rams know that after having to trade Jared Goff.

If the Rams can get top production out of Stafford for 4 or 5 more years they can lead the race in the NFC- especially if Tom Brady is actually really retired. If Stafford regresses, then this expensive roster will be led by some washed vet or some guy who’s not even a first round pick.

We’ll see how it goes, but for now enjoy it Los Angeles. This Broncos fan is off to figure out who we’re getting in return for Von Miller with the last pick in the 2nd round.

Nope.

Matt Gay is actually happily married so I doubt that Meagan Good is in the mix and publicly touting it. She probably is dating someone on the Rams and bought a custom #8 jersey because the number has meaning to her. However, crazier things have happened. We’ll see.

Unfortunately the Rams not only implemented gradient but also changed the blue to a brighter, bolder blue and a richer yellow. The color scheme makes you think about Best Buy not a NFL team.

Let’s not even get on how bad the patches and “bone” color scheme are.

To get the top pick from the Titans, the Rams gave up their first-round pick this year (No. 15 overall), their first-round pick next year, both of their second-round picks this year (their own and the one they got from the Eagles in the Sam Bradford/Nick Foles trade) and their third-round pick next year. The Titans are also throwing in their fourth-round pick and sixth-round pick this year.
