In a blockbuster trade that sent shockwaves through the NBA, the Los Angeles Clippers and the Philadelphia 76ers have agreed on a game-changing deal, altering the landscape of both teams.

The final trade terms are as follows:

**Clippers Receive:**
– James Harden
– PJ Tucker

**76ers Receive:**
– Marcus Morris
– Robert Covington
– Multiple draft picks

The Clippers’ pursuit of James Harden has come to fruition, marking a significant overhaul for the Hollywood-based franchise. In exchange for two valuable assets in Nicolas Batum and Marcus Morris, the Clippers have acquired Harden, a perennial NBA superstar, and PJ Tucker, a seasoned veteran.

This trade marks an exciting chapter for both Harden and Morris. Following the deal’s confirmation, Marcus Morris took to Instagram to express his anticipation, stating, “I had to get out of Hollywood.” The trade brings together a star-studded cast in LA, including Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and the returning Kawhi Leonard.

The Los Angeles Clippers have made a noteworthy trade offer to the Philadelphia 76ers, seeking to acquire star guard James Harden. The proposed deal reportedly includes a first-round draft pick, a draft-pick swap, and expiring contracts, signaling the Clippers’ willingness to make significant roster changes.

However, Daryl Morey, the President of Basketball Operations for the 76ers, is reportedly hesitating to green light the trade, potentially complicating the deal’s progression. The 76ers are inclined to part ways with Harden, unloading a significant contract while acquiring players with expiring deals and multiple draft assets. This strategic move would free up valuable cap space for the 76ers in the upcoming free agency, enabling them to target high-impact players who could elevate their performance.

The reluctance to accept this trade offer raises questions about the Sixers’ expectations for Harden’s value in the trade market. With Harden’s pending free agency on the horizon, coupled with the contractual situations of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, the 76ers face a complex puzzle in determining their future direction.

The hesitancy to commit to a max contract for Harden has sparked discussions about the team’s approach to player valuation and trade negotiations. While seeking a beneficial return for the star player, the 76ers find themselves in a delicate balance, grappling with the potential risk of losing Harden without receiving significant compensation.

As the trade deadline approaches, all eyes will be on the 76ers as they navigate a crucial decision regarding James Harden’s future. The outcome of these negotiations could profoundly influence the team’s trajectory and set the stage for an intriguing free agency period.

In the ever-evolving world of professional sports, rules and regulations are constantly adjusted to ensure the health and well-being of athletes. The NBA, renowned for its dedication to player safety and welfare, recently introduced a new rest policy exception that specifically targets the league’s most experienced players. Among those who meet the criteria for this exception is none other than the iconic LeBron James.

The NBA’s new rest policy exception, unveiled ahead of the latest season, has a twofold purpose: to safeguard the longevity of veteran players and to maintain the overall competitive balance of the league. This exceptional policy recognizes the unique demands placed on older athletes and those who have logged an impressive number of minutes on the court.

The criteria for eligibility under this policy are crystal clear: players who are 35 years old or older by the time the season opener arrives, or those who have accumulated a remarkable 34,000 regular-season minutes or have participated in a total of 1,000 combined regular-season and playoff games, will receive prior load management approval from the league.

LeBron James, a basketball legend in his own right, effortlessly satisfies these conditions. At 36 years old and with a career that has seen him contribute extensively to his teams in both the regular season and playoffs, it’s no surprise that he stands as a prime example of a player who deserves special consideration under this new policy.

But LeBron is not alone. He is joined by a select group of seasoned NBA veterans who share similar qualifications. These players include Andre Iguodala, P. J. Tucker, Chris Paul, Taj Gibson, Kyle Lowry, George Hill, Goran Dragic, Garrett Temple, Al Horford, Rudy Gay, Jeff Green, Wesley Matthews, James Johnson, Danny Green, Joe Ingles, Mike Conley, Javale McGee, Stephen Curry, Brook Lopez, Robin Lopez, Thaddeus Young, Ish Smith, Patrick Beverley, DeAndre Jordan, Patty Mills, Boban Marjanovic, Kevin Love, Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, DeMar DeRozan, James Harden, and Jrue Holiday.

This distinguished group of players, known for their incredible contributions to the sport, will now have the opportunity to receive approval for load management strategies that align with their unique needs and physical conditions. This not only ensures their longevity and health but also allows them to continue delivering extraordinary performances on the court.

The introduction of the NBA’s new rest policy exception demonstrates the league’s commitment to its players’ welfare and the acknowledgment that veteran stars like LeBron James and others have special requirements to prolong their careers effectively. As these seasoned athletes continue to dazzle fans with their skills and leadership, the league stands by them, ensuring they can maintain their high level of play without compromising their health.

In a league where stars are celebrated for their achievements, this new policy paves the way for seasoned players to shine even brighter, cementing their status as enduring legends in the world of basketball.

Joel Embiid looked exhausted trying to carry his squad, falling down and hitting the floor at least 19 times during the game including one time that rolled up on Danny Green and injured him.

James Harden looked like he wanted to get out of there. He didn’t even look to shoot the ball in the second half.

Will the Sixers give Harden a big extension after trading Ben Simmons and Seth Curry for him? Will Harden be signed and traded for someone like Bradley Beal or DeAaron Fox? We’ll see.

Here is Embiid saying James isn’t the same anymore:

In the midst of the Ben Simmons for James Harden trade there has been a lot of speculation hitting the net right now. Will Kyrie take the jab? Will James Harden get in shape? Will Harden like the Philly night clubs?!!

All of that is fun to see how it plays out but there is a deeper issue at hand. BOTH PLAYERS numbers are retired by their new franchise.

James Harden’s #13 is retired on the 76ers.

Ben Simmons’ #25 is retired on the Nets.

It is time. The NBA needs to be the first league to implement this. Ban retiring numbers. This is out of hand. Create a patch that honors the legendary players but put the damn number back in circulation. As a fan I’m tired of seeing players in numbers I know they’d rather not wear. It’s just a bad business practice to take product off the shelf.

Don’t get me started on how bad the NFL is with their new single digit number rules. Just un-retire the numbers and enforce the uniform code. I don’t know about you but I’m already tired of seeing defensive players running around in #3 and #1.

That’s just my thoughts on this. Basketball wise the Nets fleeced the Sixers because they got two first round picks on top of Seth Curry and Andre Drummond being added to the pot. Ultimately Brooklyn knew that Daryl Morey loved James Harden too much and the party that can’t walk away will lose the trade every time. But that’s just the trade on paper. We still have to see how it all plays out.

Until then, let the guys wear their darn jersey numbers. Please!

The NBA just had a huge trade go down that saw 4 teams trade players. In the deal James Harden was sent from Houston to Brooklyn, who received Victor Oladipo in return for Carius Levert who was routed to Indiana. The Rockets also got 4 first rounders and 4 pick swaps in return.

Why did the Rockets do this?

Very simple reason. It sets them up for success in a post Lebron/post Durant NBA.

The players that the Rockets got back are all on the last year of their contracts. They will not be there longterm. The Rockets can even flip them and picks now for a young star like Bradley Beal (though John Wall would probably not like that.)

The Rockets are playing the long game. They have expirings, picks that go until 2027, and get cap space in the immediate future. The Rockets can reboot and trade up for a Cade Cunningham in the draft, or just wait and build their team for the next six seasons as giants like Lebron, Curry, and Durant retire.

Details of the James Harden Trade

The NBA is a “win now” culture but there is something to be said for building for the future. Especially in a market like Houston where you will always attract free agents and young players will want to resign. If the Rockets play their cards right they can rebuild and be one of the teams on the rise in the second half of the 2020’s!

Who said a NBA team needs chemistry?

It seems like as long as your top 3 guys like each other there is nothing stopping you from getting the maximum out of the team in year 1.

Here is how the Nets are trying to trade for James Harden to add him to Kyrie and KD:

Well, James explained that the refs see him and know it’s not a travel. So I guess that’s that. But’s what’s more telling is that he said he’s working on a new travel looking move that will be debuted this year. I can’t wait to see it.

Twitter user @APTooFye took the time to put together a music video for the song “F*** Stephen Curry.” The clip stars James Harden, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and of course Lebron James.

Obviously this is unofficial and no NBA player is attached to this project but I bet in a private moment you’d catch them singing the lyrics. Curry is really doing a number on these guys.
