League sources confirmed Thursday that Jacksonville has been aggressively working the phones, attempting to orchestrate a blockbuster trade that would catapult them into the top three of the 2025 NFL Draft. Their target? None other than college football’s most electrifying two-way star: Travis Hunter.

Hunter, a once-in-a-generation athlete out of Colorado, is widely expected to be selected within the first three picks — either by the Tennessee Titans at No. 1, the Cleveland Browns at No. 2, or the New York Giants at No. 3. With teams hesitant to budge from their positions, Jacksonville faces long odds — but sources say that hasn’t deterred their front office from trying to make the leap.

“All-In” on Hunter

One high-ranking AFC executive described the Jaguars’ pursuit as “obsessive,” saying the team views Hunter as the missing piece to vault Jacksonville from fringe playoff contender to legitimate Super Bowl threat.

“This isn’t just about talent,” the executive said. “This is about identity. They believe Hunter can transform their defense and inject swagger into the entire franchise.”

Hunter, who played both cornerback and wide receiver at an elite level under Deion Sanders, is considered one of the most versatile prospects in modern draft history. His combination of speed, instincts, and ball skills make him a fit for any secondary, and his ability to contribute on offense is seen as a luxury that only a handful of NFL teams could truly maximize.

Roadblocks and Reality

But here’s the issue: The Titans reportedly love the idea of drafting Hunter No. 1 overall, unless they choose to build around a quarterback like Cam Ward. Meanwhile, the Browns have kept their cards close but are said to be enamored with Hunter’s upside, especially as a defensive playmaker. And the Giants? After meeting with Hunter and sending their full contingent to his pro day, they appear fully locked in.

That’s left the Jaguars offering a king’s ransom to get in the mix.

Allegedly, Jacksonville’s latest offer looked something like this:

Their 2025 first-round pick (No. 5 overall)

Their 2026 first-round pick

A starting player

A third-round pick this year

Tennessee, according to insiders, didn’t say no — but they haven’t said yes either.

“They’re dragging their feet,” a source close to Jacksonville’s front office said. “But we’re not done. If it takes more, we’ll put more on the table.”

What’s Next?

With hours ticking down until draft night, the Jaguars are reportedly still in talks with all three teams in the top three. A last-minute shakeup isn’t out of the question, especially if the Titans pivot toward a quarterback and the Browns decide to trade down for additional assets.

But if Jacksonville lands Travis Hunter, don’t expect them to be quiet about it.

“This would be one of the most aggressive draft moves in franchise history,” said one person. “And if they pull it off, it changes everything for them overnight.”

Stay tuned. The Jaguars are swinging big — and they might not miss.

The prospect of the Jacksonville Jaguars trading quarterback Trevor Lawrence for a top pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft has sparked intriguing discussions among DUUUUUVAL! football enthusiasts. While the feasibility of such a trade may be slim, the hypothetical scenario raises questions about the potential value of the current top draft picks and the future trajectory of these franchises.

As it stands, the Chicago Bears possess the #1 pick, followed by the Washington Commanders at #2 and the New England Patriots at #3. The 2024 draft class boasts promising quarterback prospects, including Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels, each offering unique strengths.

The considerations surrounding this speculative trade are multifaceted. Firstly, evaluating the long-term financial implications of retaining Lawrence versus opting for a rookie quarterback is paramount. Lawrence, despite showing promise and potential, would command a substantial contract extension after this season, prompting teams to weigh the risks and benefits of such a financial commitment.

Analysts and evaluators have varying opinions on the draft prospects. Randy Mueller, a respected figure in QB draft analysis, holds Jayden Daniels in high regard, placing him in the second tier of prospects, potentially contending for a high first-round pick. This diversity in assessments adds layers of complexity to the decision-making process.

The next question is whether a hypothetical haul for the #1 pick, similar to a Trey Lance-style package, would be comparable to what Chicago might command in a trade. The financial and strategic implications of these scenarios vary for different teams, influencing their willingness to engage in such a transformative move.

Considerations extend beyond the individual talents of the quarterbacks involved. Factors such as team culture, existing contracts, and overall team readiness play pivotal roles in determining the viability of a trade. The Chicago Bears, for instance, face the challenge of managing an already complex quarterback situation, with Justin Fields being a well-liked teammate.

Ultimately, the idea of trading a proven talent like Trevor Lawrence for the potential of untested prospects revolves around the delicate balance between immediate impact and long-term team-building strategies.

Will the Bears trade #1 for Trevor Lawrence and a haul of future picks? Probably not, but it is fun to think about!

The Jaguars are 0-5 and currently have the #1 overall pick again. So what should they do with the pick? Obviously you could trade out but that requires a trade partner. What happens if you cannot trade out? You have to make the selection, and in this case the Jaguars must take Kayvon Thibodeaux with the #1 overall pick.

Kayvon Thibodeaux is the highest rated EDGE rusher in a class that really doesn’t have a clear cut #2 behind him. He plays with a power and nastiness that this Jaguars team needs. Enough of the GRIND jokes because your coach got caught in the bar getting his playtime on, it is time to GRIND and get some wins.

The Jaguars will probably draft Trevor Lawrence out of Clemson with the #1 overall pick, but if the last few years are any indication we can’t rule anything out for the Jags. The Khans might see another prospect they like and say forget it we’ll go with that player #1.

So why hasn’t it happened yet?

Maybe Coach Doug Marrone is giving Chad Henne one last chance to wow him before bringing in Colin. Who knows. We do know that Bortles will likely never see the field as he ironically has the same type of injury clause in his contract that forced Kap to restructure with the 49ers so he could play.

Fans don’t care about that though. They already copped the jersey.

We talk a lot about the racial injustice going on in this country right now, but it is important to highlight when the police save lives and not take them. Just because a few cops go too far doesn’t mean there aren’t cops out there that value black lives. Even if they cannot say it publicly, we know they exist and we do appreciate them.

You know who else appreciates them? Jaguars RB Denard Robinson.

Denard’s life was saved after a cop literally pulled him and his girl from a sinking car:

“The driver (Denard Robinson) opened his eyes and then went back to sleep.

I continued to knock on the window until the passenger Marissa Staples woke up and rolled the window down and said “what’s up”.I explained that their vehicle was in a pond and that they needed to exit the vehicle. The passenger attempted to roll the window back up. I was able to reach in the vehicle and unlock the door so I could help the occupants exit the vehicle. The passenger refused to exit the vehicle and had to be pulled out of the car. The driver was passed out during this whole process. I was able to wake the driver but had to turn the vehicle off and remove his seatbelt. The driver thought he was on a road and did not want to exit the vehicle. I had to tell the driver multiple times his car was in a pond and was sinking so he needed to hurry up and get out.

The driver tried about three times to open the driver’s door which was the side that was under water. I had to keep reminding the driver to climb out of the passenger side because his door was in the water.”
