Sounds like he may have learned his lesson, though I’ve read rumors that scouts aren’t buying it.

An interesting random tidbit from the combine interview is that he has 4 children.

With one season of eligibility, Jenkins had a few options. Cornelio said he was looking for a Division II program. NCAA rules would allow Jenkins to play immediately at that level.

But Cornelio also dismissed Internet reports that Jenkins had decided to transfer to North Alabama, saying, “No, I don’t know. I can’t comment on that.”

Cornelio said he plans to take visits to schools with Jenkins.

Jenkins is still the #1 rated corner on Mock Draft HQ going into 2012.  Even with the off the field stuff, you cannot deny his talents, hopefully he takes advantage of this second chance.  Very few times does one get a second chance to correct a multi-million dollar mistake.

It is hilarious, because for all the “good” that Tim Tebow was doing, his teammates were getting arrested left and right under Urban Meyer’s careless eye.  Not saying that Tebow isn’t a good teammate, but faith messages DO NOT touch everyone.  Some people simply aren’t going to change who they are and what they want to do, no matter how often they are preached to by their peers.

For Jenkins he will get a shot in the NFL because he is a really good corner.  He was probably leading the crop of the 2012 draft corners going into the season.  If there is a supplemental draft he will be a 4th or 5th round selection.  If not, he will be a college free agent whenever the NFL league year begins.  But who knows how long that will be.

I feel bad for Janoris but at the end of the day life is about choices.

All that is fine and dandy, but from a NFL Draft point of view who should we be watching?

First on the offensive side, look for Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson. There are whispers in the draft community that Richardson will be the better pro back.  I am unsure about all of that, but I am sure that whatever happens tomorrow will boost the stock of one or both of these players.  I expect them to combine for at least 170 yards tomorrow.

Julio Jones is another prospect that many cannot agree on.  Some people look at him and think “Randy Moss” and others see a talented kid who hasn’t dominated yet the way he should week in and week out.

Maurkice Pouncey’s brother Mike Pouncey on the Florida side is going to be one to watch as well.  Can he dominate like his brother did and boost his stock to the first round? Time will tell.

And finally on the defensive side you have to look out for Donta Hightower.  After playing last year next to Rolondo McClain this is his year to shine in the big game.  I expect to hear his name called a lot by the announcers.

Florida and Alabama look to have another great game in this series Saturday.
