In a groundbreaking move, billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban is set to sell a majority stake of the Dallas Mavericks, valuing the franchise in the ballpark of $3.5 billion. What makes this deal particularly unique in NBA history is that Cuban will not only retain shares in the team but also maintain full control of basketball operations.

Cuban’s initial investment of $285 million has skyrocketed into an astounding $3.5 billion valuation, marking one of the most lucrative deals in the sports business realm. His decision to maintain control while welcoming new majority stakeholders, the Adelson family, is unprecedented and has sparked considerable interest across the sports and business communities.

The Adelson family, renowned for their prowess in the casino industry, will now hold a significant stake in the Dallas Mavericks, enjoying a discount on an asset expected to remain in their ownership for an extended period. This dynamic arrangement is poised to be a win-win scenario, where Cuban capitalizes on the soaring value of the franchise, and the Adelson family secures a strategic investment.

Contrary to speculation, Mark Cuban has emphatically confirmed that the Mavericks will not be relocating to Las Vegas. Instead, the Adelson family’s involvement is aimed at upgrading and potentially constructing a new facility in Dallas, with aspirations for a Venetian-like resort.

Amidst these seismic shifts, Cuban remains resolute in his commitment to running the basketball operations, ensuring continuity in the team’s management. Simultaneously, his decision to sell his stake in the Mavericks coincides with his departure from the hit TV show “Shark Tank,” signaling a significant transition in Cuban’s multifaceted career.

For those familiar with Cuban’s track record, his strategic moves, such as selling tech stocks at their peak in 2000, have often foreshadowed larger market trends. As he cashes out of the Mavericks, industry observers are left wondering about the broader implications and anticipating the next visionary venture from the ever-dynamic Mark Cuban.

Renowned NFL cornerback Richard Sherman has recently shared his perspective on Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, suggesting that Lamb may not be a bonafide #1 receiver and has been somewhat overrated. Sherman’s insights have sparked discussions regarding Lamb’s standing among the league’s top wideouts.

Sherman emphasized that Lamb should not be mentioned in the same breath as standout receivers like Justin Jefferson, Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs, AJ Brown, and Terry McLaurin. In his view, Lamb’s talents align more with those of WR2 players, such as Brandon Aiyuk, Tee Higgins, Chris Godwin, and Tyler Lockett.

While sharing his analysis, Sherman also pointed out a crucial element missing from the Cowboys’ offensive arsenal—Amari Cooper. Cooper, a key figure in the Cowboys’ receiving corps, adds a dynamic dimension to their passing game, and his absence has not gone unnoticed by Sherman.

As discussions continue about CeeDee Lamb’s role within the Cowboys and the broader context of his status as a #1 receiver, Sherman’s perspective brings an additional layer to the ongoing conversation. Lamb’s development and contributions will undoubtedly remain a point of interest throughout the season, and the absence of Amari Cooper will be felt as the Cowboys navigate the challenges of the NFL.

Draft expert Cowboysfan1993 is back with his 2019 Cowboys mock draft.

Check out the latest picks below:

1. Cowboys: Renell Wren DT Arizona St.
Round 2 Renell Wren Arizona St. 6’4″ 315 lbs.

2. Cowboys: Penny Hart WR Georgia St.
Round 3 Penny Hart Georgia St. 5’8″ 180 lbs. Trades (4th round comp pick given from Hitchens FA)

3. Cowboys: Chuma Edoga OT USC
Round 4 Chuma Edoga USC 6’4″ 303 lbs.

4. Cowboys: Dexter Williams RB Notre Dame
Round 5 Dexter Williams Notre Dame 5’11” 215 lbs.

5. Cowboys: Austin Siebert K Oklahoma
Round 6 Austin Siebert Oklahoma Kicker Brett Maher has excellent leg strength for kicking FG as evidenced by a 62 yarder earlier in the season. However, he is shaky in terms of accuracy. He misses what would be routine kicks. He’s not Dan Bailey, he’s not terrible though. However, I think bringing in a bit of competition to be more accurate is in order. Siebert has the leg strength to drive home some big kicks, but has some accuracy as well.

Now that Dallas is almost to the Lombardi, who should be added to the squad in 2019?

Cowboysfan has lent his draft expertise to answer exactly that.

His 2019 Cowboys mock draft below:

1. Cowboys: Deionte Thompson S Alabama

2nd. Juan Thornhill	Virginia Thornhill gives the Cowboys a true S that can grow with the young secondary.

2. Cowboys: Collin Johnson WR Texas

3rd The Cowboys always take a risk. I think the Cowboys should grab another young WR. Cooper may not sign long-term. Beasley is getting older & Williams will be gone. Gallup/ Johnson is a great young tandem.

3. Cowboys: Yodny Cajuste OT WVU

4th. Sum up the OL. Smith not getting younger

Draft expert Cowboysfan1993 is back once again with his projections for the 2019 Cowboy’s draft. What will Jerry do? Will he build around Dak or try to flood the defense with playmakers? Well, wonder no longer as we dive right in.

2019 Cowboys mock draft picks below:

1. Cowboys: Irv Smith Jr. TE Alabama
At 6’4″ 245 lbs. Irv Smith Jr. has NFL size for the position. Although he is still smaller than most TEs out there. Irv Smith was a relative unknown until Tua stepped on the field. It has allowed him to break out this year and earn a 2nd round selection, maybe even higher than where Dallas will likely be picking. Smith is a skilled receiver, plucking balls away from his body. He will make contested catches, but also is reliable simply catching the easy ones. He is a guy who can also get vertical on a defense in a hurry. He has great speed for the position he plays, simply running by LBs. He’ll likely run in the 4.5s. Despite his ability as a receiver, he can also block, likely best used in a zone blocking scheme. The issue is that he is not a great route runner, he rounds his routes. But he’s not bad. He is a pretty well rounded prospect that could improve in some areas. In my opinion the one thing Dallas has this year that a lot of teams may not have is speed at receiver. Both Michael Gallup and Amari Cooper have elite long speed, with good to amazing route running. Adding a TE like Irv Smith only makes matters worse for opposing defenses. To have to defend his speed coming over the middle is a problem. In my opinion Dallas should do everything within reason to acquire Smith in the offseason.

2. Cowboys: Tyler Biadasz C Wisconsin
Tyler Biadasz Wisconsin 6’3″ 325 lbs. Sure C/OG isn’t the biggest need for Dallas, but the O line simply has not been very good this year as a unit. Looney has been nothing short of excellent for Dalals, but he’s a backup. The main issue is if Frederick decides to call it quits or not. Not to mention Connor Williams has not played well and Collins has been overall pretty bad even though I’ve defended him. Maybe a move from OT to OG could benefit him and moving Williams to OT could help the O line overall. The thing is something needs to be done. Dak can’t keep taking 45 sacks with 3 games remaining every single season. Even Zeke is getting beat up due to all the hits he’s having to endure just to get to the line of scrimmage. Tyler Biadasz comes from O line U. Tyler is a big dude who is a pure power C. He can handle any nose tackle there is due to his strength and overall size. You feel comfortable leaving him one on one. He has no trouble really getting to the second level either. Despite his size, he’s actually pretty good working in space walling off the defenders. Will not be moved in pass protection either. You could win initially with a bull rush, but he has the strength to simply anchor down and not lose space. He does have some issue with faster speed guys, but not much. His lack of length also tends to hurt him against longer armed DT. I feel like he could be a flex C/OG, but he has mainly been a C.

3. Cowboys: Isaiah Johnson CB Houston

4. Cowboys: Kingsley Keke DT Texas A&M
He isn’t an overly tall player, which can hurt him against guards with longer arms. But he plays with power and knows how to attack gaps. Works well going down the line. Solid tackler, but arm length limits his range. Is a power player, but does have some pass rush moves. More of a pressure player than a guy who generates sacks. Isn’t an impressive athlete. He won’t make tackles outside of the box he plays in. With Dallas using more of a rotation than anything, Keke has a part in it as a run stuffer and pressure player.

5. Cowboys: Jaylen Smith WR Louisville
Smith features incredible athletic traits. He’s about 6’4″ 220 lbs. He’s likely to also run in the 4.4s. With that size and speed, he can be a tough cover. He has long strides and does not struggle to separate. His large frame gives him a large catch radius. He isn’t a thin player either. He can run through low tackles. The issue is he doesn’t always track the ball well. He is a below average route runner. A lot of his plays simply have him run down field. The occasional slant or underneath route, but his route tree is incredibly limited. He also doesn’t possess any open field moves. He isn’t going to shake defenders or break too many form tackles. Doesn’t always fight for the ball in contested situations. I don’t know how high he can go. NFL value big and fast players, and Smith checks those boxes. But if he falls to the fifth it’s likely because he is a project player, and in this situation Dallas would be wise to add him. I don’t think he’s a slot player right now, but Cooper and Gallup can go inside when he’s on the field.

Cowboysfan1993 is back once again with his wishlist for the Cowboys’ 2019 offseason. These things may not happen 100%, but it’s possible we may see some version of these events.

Check out what Cowboysfan thinks Jerry should do this spring:

Dallas goes out and signs Earl Thomas as a FA to help shore up the S position, and the Cowboys make several trades including trading Jourdan Lewis to move up in round 2. And then they trade their 7th round pick this year and their 5th rounder next year to move back into round 5 to get Anthony Nelson.

1. Cowboys: TJ Hockenson TE Iowa

Round 2 TJ Hockenson Iowa 6’5″ 250 lbs. The Cowboys trade Jourdan Lewis to the Bills to move up in round two to take TJ Hockenson. The Bills simply need talent, and Lewis is proven. Lewis isn’t a bad player, just underutilized due to Kris Richard’s preference to bigger CB. There is a full season worth of tape, and he played very well. TJ Hockenson is exactly what Dallas wants in a TE. Hockenson is well built, with good athleticism to match. He’s very compareable to George Kittle with better route running, but slightly less athletic ability. Hockenson is unfairly known as the other Iowa TE. Hockenson isn’t a get in the way blocker, he’s a very physical guy who relishes embarrasing would be defender, by locking them out of the play and driving them upfield. We haven’t seen the blocking physicality from TEs since Martellus Bennett. Hockenson though isn’t a one trick TE. Has very strong hands to make contested catches, with athletic ability to separate once the ball is caught. Knows angles, and how to take the appropriate one to extend his YAC. Despite good size he does have room to get even bigger. Doesn’t always high point the ball well, but it isn’t a consistent issue.

2. Cowboys: Trayveon Williams RB Texas A&M

Round 3 5’9″ 200 lbs. I know some people are like Dallas only uses Zeke which is a problem. Zeke is a great RB, but you wonder can Dallas keep leaning on him as heavily as they have without some sort of backup plan. I like Rod Smith, but if the Cowboys are reluctant to use him then it may be due to his skillset. I would love for Dallas to return to the system they had with Marion Barber, Felix Jones, and Tashard Choice if possible. They proved they can do it, and getting a back like Williams could benefit the team and Zeke in the long term. Williams despite being a little small, does not really lack for power. Has excellent footwork and vision to find the open hole and then get through. Does not need a large hole to work with, and is very good as a pass catcher. Despite being smaller, he is not a bad pass protector either, which adds further value. He is not just a scat back, he can be a bell cow if needed, but within the Cowboys system he is a perfect compliment to Elliott. You do wonder about his size though and wonder how much punishement he can take. He is not super elusive, he tends to go down on first contact, however he has greatly improved on that this year. Doesn’t really make defenders miss in the open, field, but once again has improved on that this year. I think he’s a good option and offers another weapon for Dallas who desperately needs it.

3. Cowboys: Chauncy Gardner Johnson CB Florida

Round 4 Chauncy Gardner Johnson Florida 6’0″ 205 lbs. Johnson is the guy that Kris Richard will love. He is big for the position, and is a mid round draft pick that Richard can mold into his style. Johnson was actually pretty bad in 2017 all things considered. Didn’t use his size well, and despite being a good tackler, was terrible in 2017. But if you watch the difference between 2017 and 2018 it’s night and day. In 2018, he was excellent in man coverage, and tackled extremely well. His best successes came from playing in the slot as opposed to the outside. He was so talented, he was able to take the opposing team’s best slot weapon out of the game most of the time, whether it was a TE or a slot WR. He is a phyiscal tackler, which is important in the Cowboys scheme. He played both CB and S, so the option to move him is there. The issues he has though is, what type of player are you getting? Are you going to get the 2017 version or the 2018 version. That questions is why he will likely be a mid round draft pick come April. Then you wonder is he going to be a slot only option, or can he play on the outside. Despite the last question, slot CB have become so important to the NFL, that I don’t think it really matters. Dallas has to replace Lewis, but at the same time, they may want to move on from Brown. Brown has not been bad by any means, but with having to pay so many players, they may need to move on sooner rather than later.

4. Cowboys: Kingsley Keke DT Texas A&M

Round 4 (Comp) Kingsley Keke Texas A&M 6’3″ 305 lbs. Expect Keke to go higher than this selection, and honestly I hope Dallas can find a way to trade up into the 3rd round to make this pick happen. Most people are familiar with Daylon Mack, but Kingsley is the better player. He can play the 1 tech, but I think he is best as a 3 tech in the NFL. He is a very powerful player, who has a pass rush as well. He has an advanced reprotoire of pass rush moves for the DT position. He is excellent at closing gaps and penetrating zone runs. The main issue is that he is not the most impressive athlete, so he won’t be making plays outside of his box. He’s also not the quickest guy off the line, so he will need to win matchups mentally to cause disruption. I don’t think Dallas should sign Irving, and they will need a replacement.

5. Cowboys: Andy Isabella WR UMass

Round 5 Andy Isabella UMass 5’10” 190 lbs.

6. Cowboys: Anthony Nelson DT Iowa

Round 5 (Trade) Anthony Nelson Iowa 6’7″ 270 lbs. This is a flyer pick that will remind some of Irving. While he is not as gifted athletically, he could very well be a smarter more consistent player. He carries his weight well, and has very good strength. He is not just a run defender, he has a plan of attack when rushing the QB. Can play inside and outside on some situations. Despite this strengths, he is not very athletic. Like Keke, he will need to win reps mentally, as his first step quickness is a bit disappointing. This is a pretty safe prospect given how far he falls in the draft. He will make some plays, but the question is can he be an effective starter or not given his lack of atheltic ability.

Dallas was embarrassed by the Tennessee Titans this week on Monday Night Football. There is no nice way to say it, this team is all over the place. The offense looks nothing like a complete unit. The defense is decent but leans heavily on Demarcus Lawerence’s All Pro abilities.

How can Jerry Jones turn it around? Well, we know Dez isn’t coming back because he is a Saint now. Being that this is MDHQ you already know we are looking beyond free agency anyways because we focus on the draft!

Draft expert Cowboysfan1993 is back once again with his 2019 Cowboys mock draft:

The Cowboys part ways with Jason Garrett during the offeseason and keep Richard as the DC. They hire John Defilippo as the new HC. Dallas likely won’t be going after college coaches in the offseason, so they are going to hire someone who’s been in the league. I hope the rumors of Del Rio and Fox aren’t true, and they seriously study and go after Defilippo who’s been a good coach. He helped the Eagles during their SB run, by getting Nick Foles ready for the playoffs as a QB coach. Despite some of the struggles on offense, he’s helped them make large strides during his time there this season with the Vikings. This is a guy who can properly utilize what Dallas already has, and hopefully get things turned around in Dallas.

1. Cowboys: Irv Smith Jr. TE Alabama

2nd Round Pick The needs at TE are apparent, and with a new coach, I think he’ll want to give his QB a security blanket, someone the QB can trust in do or die moments. Whether that QB is Prescott or the next guy, having Irv Smith provides not only a safety blanket, but a deep field type threat. Smith is part of the new age of TE at about 6’3″ 245 lbs. he’s not the biggest TE out there, in fact he’s compareable to Engram a few years ago, but when watching him, you can’t help but see some similarities to OJ Howard. He’s very athletic with the ability to go down the field and up the seam attacking LB and S that aren’t able to cover him. He is also good at some of the underneath stuff. He is a willing blocker, and a solid one, but could still improve a bit there. Swaim isn’t bad, but I think Swaim is more of a 2nd TE and that’s fine. Smith gives Dallas another real threat on offense.

2. Cowboys: Nasir Adderly Delaware

Round 3 Nasir Adderly Delaware 6’0″ 200 lbs. This is a pick some fans may not like when it’s made, but that’s fine, I’m about to tell you why this makes sense. Adderly does play in a small school, but he dominates his competition. At about 6’0″ 200 lbs. he has size teams would love to find in a draft like this. He’s not just big, he’s a vicious tackler and hitter. He will offer run support as both a CB and S, and has played both spots in recent years. He’s still young too. He is in my opinion a better press and zone CB, but with correct coaching can be a legit threat in man. I would play him at S first and mix in CB reps in practice. But he can also be a good CB too. My plan is to keep Richard in the mix as defensive coordinator, and he has an eye for good big CB and S. This seems like the type of player he’d go after.

3. Cowboys: Demarcus Christmas DT Florida State

Round 4 Dallas needs more at DT. Irving is a FA, and I do like Woods, and Ross was good when he’s played, but I think Dallas needs more, and seeing as how it’s too late for a 3 tech DT now. They get a run stuffer. Christmas has good size at 6’4″ 310 lbs. He is a very strong player, and can easily take on double teams freeing up others on the D line. He’s one of the better run stuffers in the draft. However, he’s not going to beat double teams, and doesn’t ahve a lot of moves to disengage. He also doesn’t offer much in terms of pass rush, but that’s what you’re going to get in the fourth round. He can play 1 tech and allow Woods to play some 3 tech, where he could be even better.

4. Cowboys: Kelvin McKnight WR Samford

Round 4 I like Cole Beasley, and I think he’s good for the team. But he may not want to stay here, given the coaching he’s received. With a new coach he might, but we also need to consider he’s 30 years old and is likely going to get a contract in the 5 to 6 million dollar range, so one has to wonder if he’s worth it. I see the next coach cutting losses and trying to bring his own guys in. McKinght is a very talented WR who also plays at a small school. He’s only around 5’8″, but he has the ability to catch the ball and run. He is excellent on yards after the catch, as he’s so shifty in the open field he’s hard to get a hand on him. He’s also a lot stronger than one would expect given his size. He works zone coverages well, and can make the tough catches. He can get down the field too. His issues are that due to his size, he won’t win many contested catch situations. While he has good speed, he doesn’t have great speed you’re looking for. He isn’t as shifty in his routes despite his size. And even as a route runner he needs some improvement. He’s not a finished product like Beasley was coming out of college, but he does offer more to an offense.

5. Cowboys: Jordan Scarlett RB Florida

The Cowboys paid up and got their #1 receiver. Amari Cooper comes over from Oakland in hopes that he unlocks Dak Prescott’s full potential as a franchise QB. We will see if it works as Cooper is a great route runner and gets open statistically better than any other #1 WR in the game.

How will trading away that 1st rounder affect Dallas? Glad you asked. Our draft expert Cowboysfan1993 is back quickly with his new Dallas mock draft.

Check out the mock below:

1. Cowboys: Ahmmon Richards WR Miami (FL)

Amari Cooper Alabama (Cowboys Traded pick to Raiders) 6’1″ 225 lbs. I wouldn’t have given up a first to get Cooper, but he’s still a talented player. This is a player who does not struggle to get open, outside of maybe Antonio Brown, Cooper just might be the best route runner in the NFL. He is quick in and out of breaks, and get put double moves on CB. He can be used all over the field, can play the X, Z, or Y role in any offense. He has the long speed to take a short 5 yard pass to the house. Doesn’t struggle to get behind the defense. Tracks the ball well, and will make contested catches in traffic. Surprisingly physical, hard to tackle below the waist. Has impeccable balance to where if you don’t wrap up he can shake a tackler loose for extra yardage. The main issue is drops. He has a surprising number of them, and he can’t do that in the NFL. His production has also slipped, but due to scheme changes, coaching changes, role changes, and a QB who hasn’t been the same for a few years has hurt his production. Being paired with Gallup gives Dallas two WR on the outside with speed. They will force defenses to respect the passing game, which will free up passes underneath to TEs and Cole Beasley, and more importantly will move defenders out of the box.

2. Cowboys: Jeffery Simmons DT Mississippi St

Round 2: This will be the first pick of the draft for Dallas. They go with a supremely talented DT. In my opinion as a player Simmons is easly a top 15 player in this draft. He’s 6’4″ 295 lbs. with elite speed and power for the position. Dallas has to worry about extensions for Demarcus Lawrence, Byron Jones, soon to be Elliott, Amari Cooper, and maybe Dak if he improves, so Irving might be moving on this year leaving a hole at DT. Antwan Woods has been nothing short of really good for Dallas, and should look to resign him if possible. But they still need a 3 tech. Simmons is really strong with a bull rush on both passing and rushing situations. Has a nice swim move, has a large amount of pressures given his athletic ability. He sheds tackles fairly easily due to his frame. Is consistent as a DT. I think he needs to improve his run defense as he relies a little too much of raw power to get pass blockers. He is a force inside. I know it’s crazy to say, but he has a lot of Fletcher Cox in his game. What’s the down side and what causes him to fall. He assaulted a woman before he stepped on the field for Mississippi St. This is an issue that the league has had to deal with for the past 5 years and Dallas has Elliott who was suspended for an issue before, so not sure if Dallas is willing to deal with another. This incident though seems a bit out of character for him. This happened nearly four years ago and this happened before he played at Mississippi St. It’s not an excuse, but since that incident he’s been a model player and teammate and even a leader for the defense. And he hasn’t been in trouble since then. If he can answer questions, then I think that he will go much higher.

3. Cowboys: Yodny Cajuste OT West Virginia

Yodny Cajuste West Virginia 6’4″ 320 lbs. The Cowboys O line hasn’t been as good as it should be. I think the OT have been a major problem. Tyron has taken a large step back, and Collins has also regressed. So they should look to at least prepare for a cliff fall before it happens. Cajuste is a large man that despite his size blocks incredibly well in the passing game. Has really good footwork and won’t be beaten by speed rushers. Uses his hands really well too. Despite his size he isn’t as good run blocking. He doesnt’ seem to have the power to get push. I do think this is more of a technique problem though that can be corrected. This is a good player, and is one of those guys that people need to pay attention to. He’s a diamond right now that is starting to gain some traction. Watch for his name in April.

4. Cowboys: Irv Smith Jr. TE Alabama

Round 4: This is another diamond. Someone on this site mocked Irv Smith in round 1. I dont’ think he’ll go that high, but he has the right idea. Right now Irv isn’t on most people’s radar, but by season’s end an in the offseason we will hear his name, and will likely be drafted in round 3 at least. Irv is about 6’3″ 245 lbs. He has elite speed for the position, and while he doesn’t get much oppurtunity to catch the ball, he has good hands. Despite his height, this is a guy who has potential to block well. He fits best in a zone blocking scheme. Main issue is lack of production and he does fumble a bit, but this could be the answer to the Cowboys TE problems.

5. Cowboys: Lukas Denis S Boston College

6. Cowboys: Kelvin McKnight WR Samford

5’8″ 185 lbs.
