The NFL has officially classified the “nose wipe” gesture as an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, making it a 15-yard infraction moving forward. According to the league’s updated rulebook, the gesture is now considered a “violent gesture” and falls under prohibited acts outlined in Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1(d).

The rule states that any violent gesture—including but not limited to a throat slash, simulating the firing or brandishing of a gun, or the now-banned “nose wipe” celebration—will be penalized under the league’s sportsmanship guidelines.

This decision has drawn mixed reactions from players and fans alike. The “nose wipe” has been used by many players as a routine celebration, and some argue that it does not carry the same aggressive or threatening implications as other banned gestures. However, the NFL continues its strict enforcement of sportsmanship policies, aiming to eliminate any perceived violent or offensive actions on the field.

As teams adjust to the rule changes, players will have to be mindful of their celebrations to avoid costly penalties that could impact crucial moments in games.

While some Dallas Cowboys fans dream of Deion “Prime Time” Sanders stepping in as the next head coach, there remains a group of dedicated supporters with a different perspective. Among them are fans who believe that while Deion is a larger-than-life figure, his current role with Colorado may be the best place for him, especially with recent successes in recruiting.

For these fans, the Cowboys’ 2023 season, while challenging, isn’t a complete wash. “We’ve seen tough years before, like in 2015 and 2020,” one fan pointed out, “but losing out and getting the first pick? That seems unlikely.” This sentiment speaks to a core belief: Dallas has weathered bad seasons before, and the idea of chasing after Deion Sanders to rescue the franchise may not align with everyone’s vision for the team.

Deion’s popularity has skyrocketed with Colorado fans as he continues to bring in high-profile recruits. Most notably, No. 2-ranked quarterback prospect Julian Lewis recently committed to the Colorado Buffaloes, securing Sanders’ reputation as a top recruiter. “Prime isn’t leaving!” fans declare, as many are confident that Deion’s heart and focus are on building his own dynasty at Colorado.

The media buzz surrounding Sanders as a possible Cowboys head coach reached new levels when commentators like Jason Whitlock joined the conversation. However, some fans view this as a mixed blessing. They recall Whitlock’s past criticisms of Sanders and wonder if this sudden endorsement might be “a trap” rather than genuine support.

For those who remember Sanders from his playing days with the Cowboys in the ’90s, his knowledge of the game was apparent. As a shutdown cornerback and a natural leader, Deion often took on unofficial coaching roles, advising both the defense and offense. However, Cowboys fans remain divided—some are excited about the idea of “Prime Time” bringing his swagger and expertise to Dallas, while others believe Deion’s best path forward lies in the college arena where he can build his legacy.

In the end, the discussion comes down to differing visions of what the Cowboys need right now. With Deion flourishing at Colorado, many fans are just as curious to see how far he can take the Buffaloes as they are about the future of their own franchise in Dallas. For now, both journeys continue, with each fan base cheering passionately from the sidelines.

Dak Prescott might be feeling a sense of vindication after watching Trey Lance’s rocky preseason performance. As the Cowboys’ backup quarterback threw five interceptions in a game against mostly Chargers backups, Prescott’s value to the team has arguably never been higher.

Trey Lance’s outing, which included five interceptions and two fumbles despite amassing 335 total yards and two touchdowns, highlighted both his potential and his flaws. While his athleticism and ability to create plays are evident, his struggles to protect the football and make sound decisions raise concerns about his future as a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Jerry Jones’ decision to trade a fourth-round pick for Lance was seen as a move to apply pressure on Prescott. However, after Lance’s poor showing, it appears that Prescott’s position as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback is more secure than ever. The performance not only cast doubt on Lance’s readiness but also gave Prescott and his agent leverage in any upcoming contract negotiations.

As Lance stumbled through his preseason game, likely against players who won’t even be on the roster next week, Prescott’s value to the Cowboys only increased. It’s clear that if Dallas wants stability and success, Prescott remains their best option, and his price tag might just have gone up significantly in light of Lance’s struggles.

Trey Lance’s impressive performance against the Raiders has not only reignited interest in his potential but also sparked speculation about the future of Cowboys’ starting quarterback, Dak Prescott. With Lance showcasing his abilities by leading three scoring drives and demonstrating his dual-threat capabilities, some are questioning whether the Cowboys might consider a future without Prescott at the helm.

Lance’s standout showing against the Raiders, where he displayed decisiveness, anticipation, and improved defensive reads, has put the spotlight on Dallas’ quarterback situation. As Lance led a 35-yard drive in just 28 seconds to close the half, capped by a 66-yard field goal, and added a touchdown pass along with 34 rushing yards, it became clear that he could be a viable option for the Cowboys moving forward.

This development has caught the attention of the Raiders, who might see an opportunity to make a bold move. With Dak Prescott likely to command a high market value in his next contract, and the Cowboys potentially looking to pay less for their quarterback position, the Raiders could consider offering significant draft capital to acquire Prescott.

For the Raiders, a trade for Prescott could provide a stable and proven quarterback presence, something the team has been searching for. With Lance now showing promise, the Cowboys might be more willing to entertain offers for Prescott, especially if it allows them to invest in other areas of the team.

As the NFL season approaches, the idea of the Raiders swinging a trade for Dak Prescott becomes increasingly intriguing. If Dallas sees Lance as their future, a deal with the Raiders could be a win-win, giving the Cowboys flexibility and the Raiders a franchise quarterback. The next few weeks could be critical in determining whether this speculative trade becomes a reality.

With the pressure on after a shaky performance last week, Trey Lance stepped up in a big way against the Raiders, showcasing the skills that once made him a top draft pick. Lance looked more decisive and focused, threading passes into tight windows, throwing with anticipation, and reading the defense with improved precision.

Lance led three scoring drives, including an impressive 35-yard march covered in just 28 seconds to close the half, capped off by a 66-yard field goal from Aubrey. He also connected with Ryan Flournoy for a touchdown pass and added 34 rushing yards and another touchdown on the ground, proving his dual-threat capabilities.

Lance’s strong showing has reignited discussions about his role on the Cowboys’ roster, especially with only one week remaining in the preseason. If he can replicate or improve upon this performance, it could spark serious debate about his future in Dallas.

The Raiders, in particular, may be watching closely. After last night’s preseason matchup, some have speculated that the Raiders should consider making a move for Lance before the trade deadline, potentially offering a first or second-round pick. With Lance set to become an unrestricted free agent after this season and Dak Prescott likely to be re-signed, the Cowboys might be tempted to capitalize on Lance’s value now.

Alternatively, some suggest that the Raiders could aim even higher by pursuing Dak Prescott himself, given the Cowboys’ reluctance to pay Dak market value and their investment in Lance. With the Cowboys potentially looking to pay less for their quarterback in the future, the idea of trading Dak for draft capital could make sense for both sides.

As the preseason winds down, all eyes will be on Lance to see if he can continue to make a case for his future—whether it’s in Dallas or elsewhere.

Renowned NFL cornerback Richard Sherman has recently shared his perspective on Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, suggesting that Lamb may not be a bonafide #1 receiver and has been somewhat overrated. Sherman’s insights have sparked discussions regarding Lamb’s standing among the league’s top wideouts.

Sherman emphasized that Lamb should not be mentioned in the same breath as standout receivers like Justin Jefferson, Davante Adams, Stefon Diggs, AJ Brown, and Terry McLaurin. In his view, Lamb’s talents align more with those of WR2 players, such as Brandon Aiyuk, Tee Higgins, Chris Godwin, and Tyler Lockett.

While sharing his analysis, Sherman also pointed out a crucial element missing from the Cowboys’ offensive arsenal—Amari Cooper. Cooper, a key figure in the Cowboys’ receiving corps, adds a dynamic dimension to their passing game, and his absence has not gone unnoticed by Sherman.

As discussions continue about CeeDee Lamb’s role within the Cowboys and the broader context of his status as a #1 receiver, Sherman’s perspective brings an additional layer to the ongoing conversation. Lamb’s development and contributions will undoubtedly remain a point of interest throughout the season, and the absence of Amari Cooper will be felt as the Cowboys navigate the challenges of the NFL.

In a surprising trade move, the San Francisco 49ers have agreed to send their former No. 3 overall pick, Trey Lance, to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a mid-round pick, according to reliable sources. This trade deal marks a significant shift in Lance’s career as he embarks on a fresh journey with the Cowboys.

Trey Lance, who was once a highly touted prospect, had his start in San Francisco after being selected as the third overall pick. However, as the dynamics of the NFL can often prove unpredictable, this trade has caught many off guard. The 49ers’ decision to part ways with Lance suggests a strategic recalibration of their team composition.

On the flip side, this trade provides Trey Lance with an opportunity for a new beginning in Dallas. The Cowboys, known for their fervent fan base and historical significance in the league, could serve as an ideal platform for Lance to showcase his skills and potential. The move to Dallas could potentially reinvigorate his career trajectory and offer him a chance to thrive in a new environment.

Details about the mid-round pick going to the 49ers haven’t been fully disclosed, but the fact that they are parting with a player once hailed as a top pick indicates a shift in their team strategy. On the other hand, the Cowboys are making a calculated move to acquire a young talent who could contribute to their roster in meaningful ways.

As NFL enthusiasts process this unexpected trade, the spotlight will undoubtedly be on Trey Lance as he adapts to his new team and endeavors to make a mark in Dallas. The transition will not only test his playing abilities but also his adaptability and resilience as he integrates into the Cowboys’ system.

In summary, the NFL landscape has witnessed a significant trade as the Dallas Cowboys secure Trey Lance, the former No. 3 overall pick, from the San Francisco 49ers. This move presents a fresh opportunity for Lance to redefine his career trajectory and make his presence felt in Dallas. As the league and fans alike anticipate how this trade will unfold, one thing remains certain: Trey Lance’s journey in the NFL has taken an unexpected turn, and the excitement surrounding his performance in a Cowboys jersey is palpable.

Round 4 Chuma Edoga USC 6’4″ 303 lbs.

4. Cowboys: Dexter Williams RB Notre Dame
Round 5 Dexter Williams Notre Dame 5’11” 215 lbs.

5. Cowboys: Austin Siebert K Oklahoma
Round 6 Austin Siebert Oklahoma Kicker Brett Maher has excellent leg strength for kicking FG as evidenced by a 62 yarder earlier in the season. However, he is shaky in terms of accuracy. He misses what would be routine kicks. He’s not Dan Bailey, he’s not terrible though. However, I think bringing in a bit of competition to be more accurate is in order. Siebert has the leg strength to drive home some big kicks, but has some accuracy as well.

Now that Dallas is almost to the Lombardi, who should be added to the squad in 2019?

Cowboysfan has lent his draft expertise to answer exactly that.

His 2019 Cowboys mock draft below:

1. Cowboys: Deionte Thompson S Alabama

2nd. Juan Thornhill	Virginia Thornhill gives the Cowboys a true S that can grow with the young secondary.

2. Cowboys: Collin Johnson WR Texas

3rd The Cowboys always take a risk. I think the Cowboys should grab another young WR. Cooper may not sign long-term. Beasley is getting older & Williams will be gone. Gallup/ Johnson is a great young tandem.

3. Cowboys: Yodny Cajuste OT WVU

4th. Sum up the OL. Smith not getting younger
